    A good DSLR (like a Canon 20D) with a high-quality lens can take night pictures without needing a flash:

    high ISO noise though. The ISO 400 mode of that camera is very grainy.

    I have dry eyes. They feel tired and sore from time to time and I have to/should take eye drops.
    I consulted an eye specialist because of it a few months ago. My vision isn't the best either.
    I'm 25 with several years of computer and monitor work.

    I attended a meeting of the local Hannover Linux User Group a few years ago.
    It was disappointing. A group of unmotivated academics/geeks with no real drive to do something.
    Same for the Unix Group at my University.

    IRC has much more value for me.

    Notepad++ has no real documentation and I couldn't get a simple regexp search/replace job done with it.

    I downloaded a version of UltraEdit and my regexp worked out of the box. Ah well, I could have used Perl
    for that linewrap problem too (I had to mangle a large textfile into a format that could be pasted into Excel).
    Ah well.

    Usually I'm an NEdit guy.

    wireless is a pain. especially with WPA encryption under linux. it is a gamble to get the
    card, driver and wpa_supplicant setup to work right.

    I thought about this too. The problem is: you don't own the passport. you are damaging a federal document.

    I have to renew my passport too, but I don't want to get into trouble by damaging it. Especially not
    at the US border.

    Great product. Almost perfect. I even carried my laptop in it, but the fabric/cushion on the bottom of the backpack is a bit thin.

    The IMAP support in Opera could be better.

    I prefer single apps for specialized tasks such as IRC chatting (like xchat). All-in-one might be nice for some people though...

    the IE is the platform. the IE is highly integrated into windows.

    this is not an alternative to Skype.

    I don't care about protocols and open-source-ness if the product a) works like a charm, b) has a Linux client available which doesn't suck or crash, c) provides a fair-priced VoIPtelephone service.

    of course, the ink will be the most expensive type of fluid with built-in DRM!

    the russian space agency said that returning the astronauts with soyuz capsules isn't possible.

    a soyuz capsule has only space for three astronauts and each one needs a custom-made bucket seat. the russians even mentioned that the astronauts are not properly trained and fit enough for a parachute landing in a soyuz.
