Have you noticed how many TV/Vidio combie units are on the market now.

I think this is the long term plan. Give it 5 years and vidio recorders will start to be fased out as 'every one will be using DVD'.

Then we'll see DVD drives intergrated into TV's and DVD drives outlawed for computers as anti DMCA (or whatever your local equlivalent is).

The RIAA is going to need to learn how to change how they do business. The RIAA is about as sociological as my left butt cheek... and it makes me sick. If big 5 lables would stop looking at current profits, they could create a new model to assure future profits without pissing people off. However, it's apparently a sin to tell shareholders that earnings are going to be a bit down this year due to a directional shift.

Actually It's probably illeagal. Most country's corporate laws leave company directors open to litigation from their share holders if they fail to maximise profits now

This leaves the Business sector, which as we all know is run by PHBs who beleave everything MS's markitdroids spoon feed them.

This can only work if you can guarantee that you have a filter on all of the telco's in your country. This is simple if the govt. happens to own the telco in question. However it only takes 1 person with a satalite phone or an ISP outside the country to break this.

Of cause the country in question can counter this by making external calls prohibativly expencive or by prossicuting any one with a sat phone.
