    Ok. That is close to forced marage, however it does give the woman a month to morn her parents before you consument the marage, and if you like her she is your wife, with all the rights that gives.

    Also it stops you from having sex with her and then selling her on.

    For its time, this was a very enlightend attitude. It fobade rape and plunder of a city that surrendered, and ensured that the none fighting population of a city that did not where protected. Other parts of the Bible say what can and can not be done with women taken in war, and forcing them to have sex with you was forbidden.

    Over in the UK we have a serieris of adds from Orange, the mobile phone company, where the Orange 'executives' try and rewrite some famous movie persons sales pitch.

    Spike Lee, Darf Vader, and one of the Hobbits from LOTR have been in them.

    The tag line is allways 'Don't let a mobile phone ruin your movie. Please switch it off'

    I think news groups could be handeled diffrently.
    To access a news group you have to connecet to a server that hosts the group.

    NNTP allows servers to request only the parts of the USENET hierarchy that they wish to carry.

    Hence the content of a news article is stored on the server you connect to.

    The content of a web page is not stored on the ISP's servers, caching asside, and as such the ISP is only acting as a carrier not as a host.

    Give an example of a technology that was kept so secret by its original inventor that it had to be rediscovered by someone else. Just one will do.

    The electronoic computer.

    The first was created built used and destried at Bletchy Park in England to crack the Enigma code.

    Becaus it was kept secret the first electronic computer was claimed for many years to have been developed by the Americans

    Coast Guard
    Mountain Rescue
    Caving Rescue

    There may be more.

    All of the above can be got from 999 or 112 or what ever the number is today.
