sorry for being Captain Obvious again but plug in hybrids use electricity and until California goes to green or renewable power plants using windmills, water turbines, geothermic energy, solar cells and the like most power plants are coal burning which is of course more CO2 being released into the environment that SUVs put out and give you less gas mileage than an economy car so of course it wasn't green enough for California.
Wait until Marice Strong finishes making deals in China to make the Cherry series of cars, really cheap, uses parts via designs stolen from Chevy and illegal and IP violations in the USA, EU, and Canada, but China does not care. Gives off more emissions than three SUVs yet claims to be green tech anyway even if it is not a plug in hybrid and just a normal car with a normal motor based on stolen designs and such a poor quality at a low price that in order to sell it in the USA would have to bribe many politicians and government inspectors and the like to sell it in the USA as a $4000 car with 16 MPG and exhaust so bad you can see the black smoke come out of it and hard to breathe near it, and about as green as a watermelon's insides. But don't worry Strong will sell carbon credits to you at a high price to offset the carbon it emits which averages out to at least $10,000 to $15,000 a year to cover the CO2 emissions so then it really is a green tech just as much as George W. Yeah I got ripped off 13 times, I was not the one who downloaded the virus it usually was one of my nephews who spend the night on an inflatable mattress to spend time with their cousin my son. Even darned thing I used be it commercial or open sourced, be it Windows or Linux (I am too poor to afford a Mac, sorry) while my wife and I are sleeping at 3 to 4am my nephews use the time to use the password my son gave them to get n his account and had hackers in chat rooms send them files to fix the PC so they can get administrator access and the like. When I supervised them they never did that, when I was asleep they did stupid stuff and then my ID was stolen before I even woke up 13 times. As someone said here or on Current there is nothing that someone cannot find a way around in technology or other things.
Right now I got a new computer, only my wife and I have accounts on it, not my son nobody else. I got other computers in the house. Part of the book is to get a cheap computer with a large hard drive to use as your web surfing research, download and testing computer. No personal data is stored on it so if it gets infected there is nothing to steal. Another way is to download and surf the web in a virtual machine like VirtualBox and run a virtual machine with no personal data on it so if it gets infected you just wipe it and reinstall it. Personally I like the old computer with a big hard drive better as some viruses can see the virtual machine or sandbox and poke a hole to infect the main operating system the virtual machine runs on.
Oh by the way, if someone wants to steal your identity and cannot get a virus on your hard drive, just infect or hack into a web site on the Internet that has personal info in a database they can steal and then even if your PC is not infected and even if you use a Mac your ID can still be stolen and your credit cards as well.
One credit card my wife uses was stolen, she doesn't even use the Internet and they hacked into the bank's system and used her account at random.

Bad attitudes from you and a few others is what scares people away from the FOSS eBooks and software anyway. Well I own an Atari 2600, Nintendo 64, Amiga 500, Macintosh SE, Macintosh IICX, a 1998 iMac Bondi Blue and MacOS 9 (Can't run Mac OS X for some reason) and all have games on it that can still be played.
Recreating the tech that is used to play it actually costs more than making an emulator and then selling the ROMs, floppy disk images, CD-ROM images and the list.
On the Playstation 3 I bought my son a Sega Sonic Genesis collection (Megadrive in other parts of the world) with 40 Sega Gensis games on it. I assume it is an emulator. I think the software and video game companies that own the old video games should license emulators for those systems and sell DVDs for modern video game consoles with the emulator and 40 ROMs on the DVD disk, then do the same for Linux, *BSD, Windows XP/Vista/7, and Mac OS X as well. My son like the Sonic games and while it did not have Crue Ball it did have Sonic Spinball in it.

Apparently recreating replicas of old 8 bit computers appears to be going on someone can do a different business to make replicas of the old video game consoles and see how well that works.

I actually did take the obvious precations. My nephews did this stuff at 3 or 4 am in the morning while my wife and I sleep.

They were supposed to be sleeping on an air mattress or a couch, but by the time I woke up I had already been had. Honestly you don't know what you are talking about and have no clue that most children and teenagers stay up later while the adult sleep and watch adult swim and ask random strangers in chat rooms to help them not know they sent a program as a virus.
Me and my brother tried using Linux to avoid that, but someone told them how to burn a Live CD boot of Linux to reset the password and then get root access and run a Linux program they gave them as root installs it, even if every obvious precaution was taken to prevent that.
Look the 13 times this happened to me was due to someone else getting access to my computer by using one of my relatives not computer security savvy enough to know a random stranger in chat giving you a program to help and how to get administrator or root access or how to burn a Live CD to reset the password at 3 or 4 am in the morning while my wife and I was sleeping would buypass any obvious precautions I used or bought to prevent it.
Every parental control has a program that does an exploit to get around it or force it to get removed by hacking Windows via a trojan and granting admin access and disable any parental control software at all. I even used OpenDNS to stop access to those web sites and some random stranger in chat told them how to get around them via a program, or use the backdoor password the software company uses to give parents back their accounts they forgot the password to by using the backdoor password to long in and change it.
Did you ever read any of Kevin Mitnik's books? Human beings are the weakest chain in the link of any security system no matter how advanced or secure you make it, someone will use social engineer and other stuff on other human beings who have access to your computer or network.
If not then clearly you never reached this as much as I did over each time it happened to me. Any software I bought to stop this got hacked and exploited, even the FOSS software and firewalls and everything else. A compete and total waste of time and money.

The Internet was designed to allow downloads of pictures on web pages. Click right click and choose "save as" but some Javascripts block that ability but clever people will get around it or use someone else's script to get around it.
My profile pictures have been under a CC license and other FOSS licenses but still get stolen since 1999 and used on fake accounts pretending to be me, or selling something, or photoshopped, etc. I was told the same thing when I went to lawyers, not much you can do about it. Plus I don't have the money to hire a lawyer as I am poor and on disability.
Someone just stole a profile picture of me in 2007 that only existed in a deactivated Facebook account that I was told nobody could see, and I deleted it off my profile anyway. Someone got on a Google Group group and other groups posted I was gay and then had a link to my father's web site and business that ruined it, so his business is getting ready to close, but he had a brain tumor develop like Ted Kenedy had and might die soon. My mother was going to take over the business but now due to lack of customers has to close it and then maybe sell her house because of the denial of income and live in a spare room in our house. He also said some other stuff and even if he had bad spelling posted even more untrue stuff about me with the profile picture. Not much I can do about it, Google refused to do anything.
Yes apparently if someone wants to they can steal your profile picture and fake it was you and get away with it and post untrue stuff about you, and not a darn thing you could do. I worked on Wiki sites over the past 5 or 6 years and while not an admin as a user I monitored Wiki articles and reverted the blankings, vandalism, and the "X is gay" type stuff about people nobody ever heard of before. So I guess I made a few enemies, one used a script-kiddie script to hack Facebook and steal the picture, photoshop it to make me look worse and post it over many Google Groups. This has happened to me since 1999 and in some cases I can get the fake profile and other stuff removed by proving to the web site admins who I am and that the account is not me but pretending to be me and cite a part of their TOS to remove it. Either Google ignored me or they don't care if someone steals my profile picture and uses my real name to post untrue stuff about me because they don't care about stuff like that and stuff like that only makes them more popular via the controversy and thus more people use Google and they make more profits just like any other mega-corp, like the one using your photos in their advertising and stuff and violating your privacy, CC license, and stealing your identity to sell stuff.
Oh by the way that is why I first started to use Orion Blastar and other pen names so at least if they steal my OB or other pen name profiles since it is not my real name, nobody that knows me would care. I tried to email the people doing it using the fake profile and fake email they made, and they reply using a Tor proxy to hide their IP that if I don't like it I can kill myself or some other thing, so trying to reason and use logic on a faker who thinks with their emotions will not work.
But I am trying to limit the pen names I use, and might even retire this Orion Blastar one. But I think everyone should use a nick name, pen name, handle like the old BBS days. Posting your real info on Facebook including address and phone number and the public can see it (privacy settings get reset on some accounts on Facebook due to bugs and sloppy code so even if set to friends only or even deactivated somehow others can still find it via the FacebookF*cker hacker/cracker script as a script-kiddie, etc.
I also found out that some scammers are stealing photos of Solider in Iraq and Afganistian to pretend to be them with fake accounts and target women looking for a man via dating sites and manipulate or trick them into giving them money, or info they can use to steal her identity. In fact this has gone on for a long time as well.
Anyway right now some Sniper is looking in the Facebook Phone Book and finds "Blastar, Orion" and then decides to look me up and get his rifle and start shooting at me.:) LOL

Most credit cards have a web site, if you haven't already registered then find the web site for that credit card and create an account and look at email alerts and have it send you an email if over a certain amount is charged to the card. Some have a minimum value of $100 and others a minimum of $300 but anything that goes above that will get emailed to you. If you didn't charge it and someone else on your account didn't charge it chances are it got stolen. Also check to see if there are other alerts like a week before the payment is due it sends you an email on the balance and maybe a list of charges, if not log in and look at the list of charges at least every week if not twice a week to see if any of them are fraud.
While my identity was stolen 13 times, it was always because my son allowed his cousins to use his account on my system and then they chatted with some guy on some chat channel how to get around the user setting for the account and run a program to change to administrator and give him access to fix the game they are playing Roblox or Runes of Magic that had some stupid update and then their character is messed up and not animated or floats instead of walking, usually means a video card driver needs updating or the last update no longer works with the video card and they will fix it later. So now my new computer has no account for my son and I can avoid that and not let his cousins get on my new PC. My brother had to remove the RAM from their PCs back home because they did even worse stuff and without RAM the system will not work.
But I logged into each credit card account and bank to check, found the fraud charges, called the credit card company, got a fraud report and a list of recent charges and check each box that was a fraud charge and mail it back after signing it and make sure I used certified mail. The charges were gone and in some cases they even gave me a lower APR interest rate to make up for it and a new credit card with a different account number on it, and cut up and throw away the hacked credit cards.
Why am I writing an eBook on this? To help educate people because most don't know what to do, and they are always targeted because they never file charges and never notice they are being ripped off until the credit cards are maxed out, they are being sued by banks to pay the credit cards and they lose their house and car because they cannot make payments on it.
Look in most cases you just need to talk to the bank or credit card company and then get a fraud report and fill it out. This is free, no lawyer nor accountant needed and no credit company or loan company either. But if I make this book FOSS and in PDF eBook format it can be downloaded by anyone who has a relative that has no idea what to do and read it to them or print out the eBook or maybe if people don't know how to download a PDF just publish it into a paper book for as low a price as I can get, and then they find it in a book store or a friend or relative buys it for them to help them out.
Also via the web site of the bank or credit card company they can assign you an alternative credit card number and code to use on web sites and goes to the same account as the original credit card number, and if that gets stolen they cancel that alias number and issue you a new one.

Look if Microsoft claims IBM competes with them and violates EU law, then why don't Microsoft develop their own Mainframe and then port Windows 7 or whatever to it and then see how well that sells? Maybe people would rather use IBM Mainframes and zOS, oh because it is better, faster, more stable, and has no known viruses that can infect it, plus it can run Linux in virtual machines if needed which is why IBM makes contributions to Linux and other FOSS software projects like Mozilla, etc.
Remember that SCO vs. IBM for Linux having SCO Unix code in it? Microsoft was behind that as well. The code they used in court was Minix code and not Linux code but once the judge figured that out and they got the real Linux code, well we discovered the truth, eh?
Ogg Frog is designed to rip CDs into OGG format and then support MP3 and other formats. It will be based on Zoolib which Mike Crawford is working on porting to different platforms with Andy Green.
Eventually Mike will take Ogg Frog out of alpha testing and move it to beta and then a golden 1.0 release in 2020, 2023 tops. By then standards will have changed to something else but the OGG audio and video formats will be used as they are open sourced and almost everything else is someone else's or company's IP and will start suing people who use them in their applications and sell music and videos in that format. Compuserve for example came up with GIF standards as I recall and started suing so people moved to TIF, JPG, PNG, etc. PNG I believe is safe from lawsuits but it is only an image format and not an audio or video format.
I am with the Time Traveler's Union Local 4096 + i4 and I must say this is not what we do. Our Union Time Travel's rules:
#1 Avoid sex at all costs, to avoid becoming your own grandfather or having your children born in the past and change history.

See if you can find coins and paper bills of that time, if not then work a job with a farner or something and allow extra time to work a job and earn money and then buy what you need. But every trip you make in time that you earn money keep it in the cashomatic device to sort money by time peroid, nation, economy, etc.
#6 Remember sometimes you have to observe events and history without interfering so you can travel back and use the knowledge to be somewhere else and never meet your other self. This is the Marty McFly complex, and you help your past self not get effected by changes you made by being there again.
#7 Make sure any wormhole or hole in space/time is patched up, and every Einstein-Rosen bridge is closed after you use it. If not then the Snow Globe complex can happenin which two parallel universes crash into each other and only one or worse yet none of them survive.
#8 If someone steals your time travel tech and gets a sports almanac or something from the future, make him or her brag about it and then go back o where he/she bragged about meeting him/her self in the past and get that book away from him/her. The Biff Tanner complex.
#9 If you need people from the past because the future had too many people die off, find commercial airplanes that crashed and had no survivors and travel to that plane and take people off it to your future to save the human race. The Millennium complex.
#10 Don't time travel too much, or else too many parallel universes will come into be and then those who are in charge will step in and try to eliminate some of them. The Crisis on Infinite Earths complex.
#11 When giving measurements for something like Stone Henge don't confuse inches for feet. The Spinal Tap complex.:)
Remember when Civilization IV was so kick butt on Windows and Mac systems? Sid never learned his lesson from when he made Civ 1 for the SNES and other consoles, it does better on PCs and people who play game consoles aren't smart enough to figure out Civ IV so they made Civilization Revolution instead or Civ IV for Dummies and dumbed down everything.
Look the game consoles are mostly used by young people in college or ready to go t college or in high school and yes even as young as age 6 using their parent's account and credit card (they lied about their age BTW as most kids do) and then when us college graduates who own PC or Mac systems in our 30's 40's etc grew up playing games just like these for the past 10 to 20 years of course we are going to do better. You grow up playing Wolf3D, Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II, etc, and you get really good playing shoot 'e, up gun games and you put us with n00bz barely able to figure out how to aim much less use a gun.
It isn't our fault we are sad geezers with sharp shooting skills, I am related to the McCoys in the Hatfield/McCoy feud and got the sharp shooter gene passed on to my son, who can take out the other people in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.0 game that he has to mute the talk of other people who always cuss him out be they old geezers, young adults, teenagers, pre-teens or whatever because I taught him my gun fighting skills with Wolf3D, Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II, etc before he even got to video game consoles.
Some argue that colleges should teach concepts and theories and choose the easiest language in which case BASIC (Classic Visual BASIC 6.0 and under) and Pascal (Turbo Pascal or Delphi) was used, then later as Java and C++ became popular because they can be cross platform.
Anyone remember growing up with 8 bit computers and using Pilot or Logo and giving commands to a turtle to draw stuff? It made programming fun.
But if anyone wants to do Modern Windows programing they'll need Visual BASIC 2008/2010, Visual C# 2008/2010 as that is what MS IT Shops run. You show them on your resume that you are a C++ and Java developer and they'll laugh at you and pass on you and hire someone with Visual Studio experience instead.
Don't forget Python/Jython, Ruby on Rails, and others.
I am trying to get off disability and do something as a hobby to help people. I want to write some beginner's eBooks on various programming languages as a cook book or step by step guide to learn how to program in Free Pascal, Free BASIC, ANSI C++, C#, Visual BASIC, Java, Python, and a few others. Make it the basics of the language from hello world to a program that maybe reads and writes records from a text file. Forget about the GUI and Objects and make it text based and cover those later. It will mostly be figuring out math problems and then maybe end up doing an employee payroll program that writes a report on salaries and checks. But will be under an OSS license so others can add to it and make it better later on. I'd also give source code with the PDF and consider putting it in RTF, ODF, and other formats so it can be read by almost anyone.
But my health and family come first.
Anyway the OSS versions if the OSS joins in we can turn into better eBooks. If not I will write intermediate and advanced versions of those books for sale for eBook readers and try to start up a small business as eBook readers and eBooks catch on.
All of this talk that "your language is too complex" is nonsense, look at how Complex the Modern English language is, so why don't we just drop English for Dutch/Flemish or German or French or Spanish? Hey learn the different dialects of Chinese as we owe their government a lot of money. BTW I am learning Thai, "Sawadee krup!" The r is usually silent and that is Thai for hello said by a male if a female says it then krup is replaced with ka.:) Yes I want to learn those languages as well but lack the time and money.
My resume was getting ridiculous as I had over 37+ programming languages I knew, most of them dead or dying or early being used. Maybe only 5+ are used in the modern world. So now if I rewrite it I will trim the number of languages to those still in use and say "and other programming languages not listed here, but ask for a separate sheet if interested."

Look at the Doom and Quake engines, etc Doomsday is a nice example of that and you can take the WADs from your old ID games, even if they only played on DOS with a PC and Doomsday can be ported to other platforms besides Windows. eDuke32 is a Duke Nukem engine and you can buy the DOS Duke Nukem program for $5.99 if you lost your old floppy or CD, or if you are new to it, just pay the $5.99 and use the data files to play under eDuke32 then.
I bought my son a Sega Genesis 40 game collection for the Playstation 3. He likes them. Heck on the PC and other platforms there are emulators but you need to buy the ROMs. This Sega Genesis 40 game PS3 sounds like such a good idea it should be sold for Windows, Linux, and the Mac OS X systems. This way old games can still be played on modern systems. So even if the company does not open source it, they can still sell the old version to modern systems and use an emulator or something and then a whole new generation of fans enjoy it.
I grew up with the Atari 2600, a member of the IMagic Numb Thumb club and won an Activison Chopper Command contest at a local store and got a poster for it. I was so close to beating the Swordquest series until Atari canceled it for some reason, otherwise I would have qualified for the main contest to see if I could win the prizes that are objects used in the game with gold, silver, and gems to make them. I heard a rumor this was one Jack Trermiel left Commodore and bought out Atari and then to save money canceled the contest. I had an Atari 2600 ready to buy an Atari 800 computer until I learned how Atari treated their programmers and fired a lot of them and they formed IMagic and Activsion, and some went to Mattel and others to Coleco to make a system to compete with Atari. So when the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga 1000 came out I bought the Amiga 1000 and never regretted it. I got an Amiga 500 that replaced it and run my Bard's Tale on it, and hope Western RPG games like that make a comeback as every RPG (or most) are Eastern based Japanese Anime stuff, so when I ask Gamestop for Nintendo DS games that are RPGs based on D&D and stuff, does not exist they claimed. Man I want to learn Nintendo DS programming and write my own RPG using Western European and US themes in them. Paladins, Warriors, Bards, Clerics, ect.:)
Since I haven't worked since 2002 and have no work place to ask at, and search all over Google to find one near me. The ones I do find are the fake recyclers and Google does not have the ability to tell me which ones are fake or real. So I've found way too make fake recyclers via Google and they load up Google's results to make it hard to find a real one.
I got a lot of old computer parts from the 1990's. Motherfracking Recycling companies near me are a darnned joke and refuse to take tech made before 2002. Then calls me picky and unreasonable when I ask them to take my 90's tech.
Then some want $50 to haul off a $15 CRT tube monitor that do.
Any ideas or suggestions? I don't want to throw them in a dumpster and have mercury leaks and all that, I don't want to harm the environment. I don't want to pay $50 a monitor to get rid of them either.
Are those types of businesses scams and frauds as well? How can I find one to take them for free. The Freecycle group in my area is a joke BTW, get a lot of no shows and then nothing happens and nobody cares.

What is wrong with the rest of us not so young and hip? Us older developers can run rings around the young hip developers and write better quality code with more features and faster and as few security flaws as possible.
Yes we do FOSS as well, but will write for Microsoft if they stop this stupid stuff that only the young and hip can write software for their "copycat" cell phone technology, etc.:)
Heck us older developers can mentor the young and hip ones to become better and do what we do, without making all the mistakes we made as young and hip developers 10 or 20 years ago. Why is it that only the hipe and young developers get the grants, loans, and investment money to start up software companies and they are usually 20 something men fresh out of college that learned the theories but lack real world experience, common sense, learning form our mistakes, and the knowledge of at lears 37 to 49 different programming languages and the patterns of analysis and design an research and we can adapt to any computer platform, any language, and any framework and 20 something code monkeys would rather sit at a computer all day and troll the Internet instead of working harder and smarter like us older developers. Also why does Microsoft and Apple only target male developers and forget about the female ones out there also needing grants, loans, and investment money for their own software companies? Women can program just as much as men can, and the young hip 20 something men make fun of women and say negative things about them (we never did at that age) and then whine about not being able to date a woman and never having sex. Shoot just stop the female trolling and bashing and treat women as equals and not sex objects and as human beings and maybe you'll meet the right woman some day. But honestly this younger generation has more technology and opportunities that we older developers had at their age. But they waste it with stuff that don't even matter in the real world. did you claim to say reading eBooks takes more time than reading real books? That a company who publishes real books and magazines like PC World would conduct a scientific study they claim is unbiased even if they are in the very business that eBooks threaten to compete with and possibly shut out. That they are not doing this to manipulate, scare, or use psychological warfare/operations to get more people to avoid the eBook market and buy more of their paper based books and magazines?
If you say so sir, but me and Mrs. Columbo seem to think that scientific studies done this way by biased sources, based on history always make biased claims and just McDonald's will do a scientific study showing their food is healthly and allows one to lose weight by eating a lot of it, and Microsoft claims Linux, a competitor to Windows has more security holes and bugs in it and that so does Firefox have more bugs and security flaws than Internet Explorer that this is starting to develop into some type of pattern.
But you know sir, figures can lie, but sometimes liars figure that even a peer reviewed scientific theory proven the best way it can will fool people even if it is biased and a sockpuppet scientist or someone else rubber stamped it for money and called it a peer review, but I digress if the public ever find that out, or figures out such things happen, no public relations you can do will be able to recover from this.
Oh yeah one more question sir, if eBooks are electronic books and digital information in the same way as web sites like say Slashdot are, and other studies show that one can read web pages (digital information) faster than printed newspapers, books, and magazines and these scientific studies were done by third party neutral scientific groups with no bias and nothing to gain, why is yours right and theirs is wrong?
Oh yeah sir, I hate to keep bothering you like this, but one more thing that bugs me, maybe you can shed some light on it, there was once a scientific theory and study that said boys were smarter than girls long ago. Because of this most of western civilization considers females to be weaker, less intelligent, and not to be treated with equal rights as males are. It was peer reviewed and proven. Then later as new theories and new technology and ideas came about they found out that girls learn education differently than boys do and that they had to change the way they teach so girls can learn and reach their potential, so something that was through to be true a long time ago and scientifically proven was later found to be flawed and wrong and in error. So education got changed to adapt to teaching girls to help them learn better and become smarter, even than most boys. That in some areas girls, women, and females in general are smarter than us males, and because of this type of stuff kept most women from entering the math and science areas which is why males had dominated them, but now due to this correction more women are getting into Math and Science areas and more women are attending colleges than men now. They didn't do the research to see how education worked that allowed boys and girls to learn and see if it was a factor. I believe using my own powers of logic deduction and detective mode, that your study used people not as smart as most on the Internet who use eBooks and thus took longer to read because they weren't computer savvy or technical enough to figure out how to use an eBook reader properly as most Slashdotters that could be used in such research may be used to find out they read eBooks faster than real books because they understand how tech works and electronic devices being the geek geniuses that we are, instead of the average person who cannot figure out what the difference between "save" and "save as" and choose RTF or Word 2002/2003 format for Office 2007/2010 to share documents with older versions of MS-Office and non-Windows machines that cannot read such files.

sorry for being Captain Obvious again but plug in hybrids use electricity and until California goes to green or renewable power plants using windmills, water turbines, geothermic energy, solar cells and the like most power plants are coal burning which is of course more CO2 being released into the environment that SUVs put out and give you less gas mileage than an economy car so of course it wasn't green enough for California.
Wait until Marice Strong finishes making deals in China to make the Cherry series of cars, really cheap, uses parts via designs stolen from Chevy and illegal and IP violations in the USA, EU, and Canada, but China does not care. Gives off more emissions than three SUVs yet claims to be green tech anyway even if it is not a plug in hybrid and just a normal car with a normal motor based on stolen designs and such a poor quality at a low price that in order to sell it in the USA would have to bribe many politicians and government inspectors and the like to sell it in the USA as a $4000 car with 16 MPG and exhaust so bad you can see the black smoke come out of it and hard to breathe near it, and about as green as a watermelon's insides. But don't worry Strong will sell carbon credits to you at a high price to offset the carbon it emits which averages out to at least $10,000 to $15,000 a year to cover the CO2 emissions so then it really is a green tech just as much as George W. Yeah I got ripped off 13 times, I was not the one who downloaded the virus it usually was one of my nephews who spend the night on an inflatable mattress to spend time with their cousin my son. Even darned thing I used be it commercial or open sourced, be it Windows or Linux (I am too poor to afford a Mac, sorry) while my wife and I are sleeping at 3 to 4am my nephews use the time to use the password my son gave them to get n his account and had hackers in chat rooms send them files to fix the PC so they can get administrator access and the like. When I supervised them they never did that, when I was asleep they did stupid stuff and then my ID was stolen before I even woke up 13 times. As someone said here or on Current there is nothing that someone cannot find a way around in technology or other things.
Right now I got a new computer, only my wife and I have accounts on it, not my son nobody else. I got other computers in the house. Part of the book is to get a cheap computer with a large hard drive to use as your web surfing research, download and testing computer. No personal data is stored on it so if it gets infected there is nothing to steal. Another way is to download and surf the web in a virtual machine like VirtualBox and run a virtual machine with no personal data on it so if it gets infected you just wipe it and reinstall it. Personally I like the old computer with a big hard drive better as some viruses can see the virtual machine or sandbox and poke a hole to infect the main operating system the virtual machine runs on.
Oh by the way, if someone wants to steal your identity and cannot get a virus on your hard drive, just infect or hack into a web site on the Internet that has personal info in a database they can steal and then even if your PC is not infected and even if you use a Mac your ID can still be stolen and your credit cards as well.
One credit card my wife uses was stolen, she doesn't even use the Internet and they hacked into the bank's system and used her account at random.
So now explain to me why I am not the right guy to write this book. You think you can do a better job than me? Go right ahead, then post a link to it so I can see how Nagrom can write a better eBook than me and offer me advice to write mine better, I never admitted to being a good writer and I never said I was perfect, I learn from my mistakes as natural selection and evolution show, and I even submitted an Ask Slashdot story and claim to be a beginner and asked for help to learn how to write eBooks. People ignore it, not sure why. Even if I make mistakes and errors, at least it is better than not even trying. If I get feedback I can rewrite parts of the books wit flaws and errors in it and update new info and remove things that don't work etc. Which is how writing an eBook with a FOSS license is good. Heck you think I stink on ice for writing a book and I got my ID stolen 13 times, the CC license allows you to edit my book and work with me and then I add your name to the credits for what you wrote. But chances are you won't like everyone else it is easier to mock, harass, and bully people like me to stop me from writing a book instead of offering help or writing your own book.
Bad attitudes from you and a few others is what scares people away from the FOSS eBooks and software anyway. Someone is tired of Windows wants to learn Linux, they get told to RTFM, and then the FM is written by other programmers and the average person cannot understand it and when they ask for help RTFM STFU N00b! Well I own an Atari 2600, Nintendo 64, Amiga 500, Macintosh SE, Macintosh IICX, a 1998 iMac Bondi Blue and MacOS 9 (Can't run Mac OS X for some reason) and all have games on it that can still be played.
Recreating the tech that is used to play it actually costs more than making an emulator and then selling the ROMs, floppy disk images, CD-ROM images and the list.
On the Playstation 3 I bought my son a Sega Sonic Genesis collection (Megadrive in other parts of the world) with 40 Sega Gensis games on it. I assume it is an emulator. I think the software and video game companies that own the old video games should license emulators for those systems and sell DVDs for modern video game consoles with the emulator and 40 ROMs on the DVD disk, then do the same for Linux, *BSD, Windows XP/Vista/7, and Mac OS X as well. My son like the Sonic games and while it did not have Crue Ball it did have Sonic Spinball in it.

Apparently recreating replicas of old 8 bit computers appears to be going on someone can do a different business to make replicas of the old video game consoles and see how well that works.

Besides the eBook was not written for you, if you already know how to deal with it, only those people who never reported anything to anyone and ended up eating the debt the hackers maxed out their credit cards and stole their ID and emptied their bank accounts.
But if you think you are more qualified, then either write your own eBook, help me with mine, or of course keep mocking me and harassing and trolling me because it admits you'd rather do stuff like that to a disabled man, the least of your brothers, because secretly you cannot write eBooks or don't care about anyone but yourself and are good enough at this to infect systems with rouge viruses and steal identities and want to stop me so you can keep doing it and preventing my eBook from being written gives you and your hacking group more victims to have as they will never read my eBook or paper book on it to help inform them and tell them how to do it.

They were supposed to be sleeping on an air mattress or a couch, but by the time I woke up I had already been had. Honestly you don't know what you are talking about and have no clue that most children and teenagers stay up later while the adult sleep and watch adult swim and ask random strangers in chat rooms to help them not know they sent a program as a virus.
Me and my brother tried using Linux to avoid that, but someone told them how to burn a Live CD boot of Linux to reset the password and then get root access and run a Linux program they gave them as root installs it, even if every obvious precaution was taken to prevent that.
Look the 13 times this happened to me was due to someone else getting access to my computer by using one of my relatives not computer security savvy enough to know a random stranger in chat giving you a program to help and how to get administrator or root access or how to burn a Live CD to reset the password at 3 or 4 am in the morning while my wife and I was sleeping would buypass any obvious precautions I used or bought to prevent it.
Every parental control has a program that does an exploit to get around it or force it to get removed by hacking Windows via a trojan and granting admin access and disable any parental control software at all. I even used OpenDNS to stop access to those web sites and some random stranger in chat told them how to get around them via a program, or use the backdoor password the software company uses to give parents back their accounts they forgot the password to by using the backdoor password to long in and change it.
Did you ever read any of Kevin Mitnik's books? Human beings are the weakest chain in the link of any security system no matter how advanced or secure you make it, someone will use social engineer and other stuff on other human beings who have access to your computer or network.
If not then clearly you never reached this as much as I did over each time it happened to me. Any software I bought to stop this got hacked and exploited, even the FOSS software and firewalls and everything else. A compete and total waste of time and money.

The Internet was designed to allow downloads of pictures on web pages. Click right click and choose "save as" but some Javascripts block that ability but clever people will get around it or use someone else's script to get around it.
My profile pictures have been under a CC license and other FOSS licenses but still get stolen since 1999 and used on fake accounts pretending to be me, or selling something, or photoshopped, etc. I was told the same thing when I went to lawyers, not much you can do about it. Plus I don't have the money to hire a lawyer as I am poor and on disability.
Someone just stole a profile picture of me in 2007 that only existed in a deactivated Facebook account that I was told nobody could see, and I deleted it off my profile anyway. Someone got on a Google Group group and other groups posted I was gay and then had a link to my father's web site and business that ruined it, so his business is getting ready to close, but he had a brain tumor develop like Ted Kenedy had and might die soon. My mother was going to take over the business but now due to lack of customers has to close it and then maybe sell her house because of the denial of income and live in a spare room in our house. He also said some other stuff and even if he had bad spelling posted even more untrue stuff about me with the profile picture. Not much I can do about it, Google refused to do anything.
Yes apparently if someone wants to they can steal your profile picture and fake it was you and get away with it and post untrue stuff about you, and not a darn thing you could do. I worked on Wiki sites over the past 5 or 6 years and while not an admin as a user I monitored Wiki articles and reverted the blankings, vandalism, and the "X is gay" type stuff about people nobody ever heard of before. So I guess I made a few enemies, one used a script-kiddie script to hack Facebook and steal the picture, photoshop it to make me look worse and post it over many Google Groups. This has happened to me since 1999 and in some cases I can get the fake profile and other stuff removed by proving to the web site admins who I am and that the account is not me but pretending to be me and cite a part of their TOS to remove it. Either Google ignored me or they don't care if someone steals my profile picture and uses my real name to post untrue stuff about me because they don't care about stuff like that and stuff like that only makes them more popular via the controversy and thus more people use Google and they make more profits just like any other mega-corp, like the one using your photos in their advertising and stuff and violating your privacy, CC license, and stealing your identity to sell stuff.
Oh by the way that is why I first started to use Orion Blastar and other pen names so at least if they steal my OB or other pen name profiles since it is not my real name, nobody that knows me would care. I tried to email the people doing it using the fake profile and fake email they made, and they reply using a Tor proxy to hide their IP that if I don't like it I can kill myself or some other thing, so trying to reason and use logic on a faker who thinks with their emotions will not work.
But I am trying to limit the pen names I use, and might even retire this Orion Blastar one. But I think everyone should use a nick name, pen name, handle like the old BBS days. Posting your real info on Facebook including address and phone number and the public can see it (privacy settings get reset on some accounts on Facebook due to bugs and sloppy code so even if set to friends only or even deactivated somehow others can still find it via the FacebookF*cker hacker/cracker script as a script-kiddie, etc.
I also found out that some scammers are stealing photos of Solider in Iraq and Afganistian to pretend to be them with fake accounts and target women looking for a man via dating sites and manipulate or trick them into giving them money, or info they can use to steal her identity. In fact this has gone on for a long time as well.

Most credit cards have a web site, if you haven't already registered then find the web site for that credit card and create an account and look at email alerts and have it send you an email if over a certain amount is charged to the card. Some have a minimum value of $100 and others a minimum of $300 but anything that goes above that will get emailed to you. If you didn't charge it and someone else on your account didn't charge it chances are it got stolen. Also check to see if there are other alerts like a week before the payment is due it sends you an email on the balance and maybe a list of charges, if not log in and look at the list of charges at least every week if not twice a week to see if any of them are fraud.
While my identity was stolen 13 times, it was always because my son allowed his cousins to use his account on my system and then they chatted with some guy on some chat channel how to get around the user setting for the account and run a program to change to administrator and give him access to fix the game they are playing Roblox or Runes of Magic that had some stupid update and then their character is messed up and not animated or floats instead of walking, usually means a video card driver needs updating or the last update no longer works with the video card and they will fix it later. So now my new computer has no account for my son and I can avoid that and not let his cousins get on my new PC. My brother had to remove the RAM from their PCs back home because they did even worse stuff and without RAM the system will not work.
But I logged into each credit card account and bank to check, found the fraud charges, called the credit card company, got a fraud report and a list of recent charges and check each box that was a fraud charge and mail it back after signing it and make sure I used certified mail. The charges were gone and in some cases they even gave me a lower APR interest rate to make up for it and a new credit card with a different account number on it, and cut up and throw away the hacked credit cards.
Why am I writing an eBook on this? To help educate people because most don't know what to do, and they are always targeted because they never file charges and never notice they are being ripped off until the credit cards are maxed out, they are being sued by banks to pay the credit cards and they lose their house and car because they cannot make payments on it.
Look in most cases you just need to talk to the bank or credit card company and then get a fraud report and fill it out. This is free, no lawyer nor accountant needed and no credit company or loan company either. But if I make this book FOSS and in PDF eBook format it can be downloaded by anyone who has a relative that has no idea what to do and read it to them or print out the eBook or maybe if people don't know how to download a PDF just publish it into a paper book for as low a price as I can get, and then they find it in a book store or a friend or relative buys it for them to help them out.
Also via the web site of the bank or credit card company they can assign you an alternative credit card number and code to use on web sites and goes to the same account as the original credit card number, and if that gets stolen they cancel that alias number and issue you a new one.

I have to say if you have severe issues trying to read what I say, maybe it is not what I wrote, but more of your own problems and not mine. What I did say was that OS/2 or Windows 7 would be the type of OS Hitler would make if he had the skills and talents to do so. So let me get this straight, Microsoft files anti-trust charges against IBM in the EU? The same Microsoft the EU accuses of anti-trust and forced them to make "N" versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7?

Look if Microsoft claims IBM competes with them and violates EU law, then why don't Microsoft develop their own Mainframe and then port Windows 7 or whatever to it and then see how well that sells? Maybe people would rather use IBM Mainframes and zOS, oh because it is better, faster, more stable, and has no known viruses that can infect it, plus it can run Linux in virtual machines if needed which is why IBM makes contributions to Linux and other FOSS software projects like Mozilla, etc.

Ogg Frog is designed to rip CDs into OGG format and then support MP3 and other formats. It will be based on Zoolib which Mike Crawford is working on porting to different platforms with Andy Green.
Eventually Mike will take Ogg Frog out of alpha testing and move it to beta and then a golden 1.0 release in 2020, 2023 tops. By then standards will have changed to something else but the OGG audio and video formats will be used as they are open sourced and almost everything else is someone else's or company's IP and will start suing people who use them in their applications and sell music and videos in that format. Compuserve for example came up with GIF standards as I recall and started suing so people moved to TIF, JPG, PNG, etc. PNG I believe is safe from lawsuits but it is only an image format and not an audio or video format.
I am with the Time Traveler's Union Local 4096 + i4 and I must say this is not what we do. In order to avoid time paradoxes we invented a device called a time lock so if there is any paradox it ends up in a parallel universe that splits off of the one we want to change and we end up in the future of the universe without the paradox but just the right changes we need. M-Theory aka Super String Theory is flawed, keep looking for that Higgs Boson with a flawed theory. We fixed it in the future by finding particles, waves, and other things smaller than super strings. Then we built software to check for errors in formulas and maths to find the flaws and then fix them.
Our Union Time Travel's rules:
#1 Avoid sex at all costs, to avoid becoming your own grandfather or having your children born in the past and change history.
#2 Avoid killing people esp important people and your grandfather etc to avoid even more paradoxes.
#3 Never admit you are a time traveler or know time travelers, or that killer cyborgs from the future are out to kill you and your son, we call this the Sarah Connor Complex and it is a good way to be put into a mental hospital. If everyone thinks you are insane or crazy or delusional, only then can you admit to being a time traveler or meeting one etc and then nobody will believe you anyway.
#4 Try to blend in, before you go hit some thrift stores to buy clothing that matches what the nation, culture, and society wears at that time period. If not then buy clothes at a costume store that look like that time. But if the method of time travel requires you are naked, scan the area before time traveling to it to fnd a clothes line of clothes in your size and do a Bill Bixby and leave some money after taking the clothes so the people you ripped off can afford to replace them.
#5 Only carry money made during the time period. See if you can find coins and paper bills of that time, if not then work a job with a farner or something and allow extra time to work a job and earn money and then buy what you need. But every trip you make in time that you earn money keep it in the cashomatic device to sort money by time peroid, nation, economy, etc.
#6 Remember sometimes you have to observe events and history without interfering so you can travel back and use the knowledge to be somewhere else and never meet your other self. This is the Marty McFly complex, and you help your past self not get effected by changes you made by being there again.
#7 Make sure any wormhole or hole in space/time is patched up, and every Einstein-Rosen bridge is closed after you use it. If not then the Snow Globe complex can happenin which two parallel universes crash into each other and only one or worse yet none of them survive.
#8 If someone steals your time travel tech and gets a sports almanac or something from the future, make him or her brag about it and then go back o where he/she bragged about meeting him/her self in the past and get that book away from him/her. The Biff Tanner complex.
#9 If you need people from the past because the future had too many people die off, find commercial airplanes that crashed and had no survivors and travel to that plane and take people off it to your future to save the human race. The Millennium complex.
#10 Don't time travel too much, or else too many parallel universes will come into be and then those who are in charge will step in and try to eliminate some of them. The Crisis on Infinite Earths complex.
#11 When giving measurements for something like Stone Henge don't confuse inches for feet. The Spinal Tap complex. :)
Remember when Civilization IV was so kick butt on Windows and Mac systems? Sid never learned his lesson from when he made Civ 1 for the SNES and other consoles, it does better on PCs and people who play game consoles aren't smart enough to figure out Civ IV so they made Civilization Revolution instead or Civ IV for Dummies and dumbed down everything.
Look the game consoles are mostly used by young people in college or ready to go t college or in high school and yes even as young as age 6 using their parent's account and credit card (they lied about their age BTW as most kids do) and then when us college graduates who own PC or Mac systems in our 30's 40's etc grew up playing games just like these for the past 10 to 20 years of course we are going to do better. You grow up playing Wolf3D, Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II, etc, and you get really good playing shoot 'e, up gun games and you put us with n00bz barely able to figure out how to aim much less use a gun.
It isn't our fault we are sad geezers with sharp shooting skills, I am related to the McCoys in the Hatfield/McCoy feud and got the sharp shooter gene passed on to my son, who can take out the other people in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.0 game that he has to mute the talk of other people who always cuss him out be they old geezers, young adults, teenagers, pre-teens or whatever because I taught him my gun fighting skills with Wolf3D, Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II, etc before he even got to video game consoles.
When I went to college in the late 1980's and early 1990's I learned as many programming langages as I could both in college and on my free time. Computer World thought I was notable enough to quote me as an expert on the subject based on a former Slashdot story.
Some argue that colleges should teach concepts and theories and choose the easiest language in which case BASIC (Classic Visual BASIC 6.0 and under) and Pascal (Turbo Pascal or Delphi) was used, then later as Java and C++ became popular because they can be cross platform.
Anyone remember growing up with 8 bit computers and using Pilot or Logo and giving commands to a turtle to draw stuff? It made programming fun.
But if anyone wants to do Modern Windows programing they'll need Visual BASIC 2008/2010, Visual C# 2008/2010 as that is what MS IT Shops run. You show them on your resume that you are a C++ and Java developer and they'll laugh at you and pass on you and hire someone with Visual Studio experience instead.
Don't forget Python/Jython, Ruby on Rails, and others.
I am trying to get off disability and do something as a hobby to help people. I want to write some beginner's eBooks on various programming languages as a cook book or step by step guide to learn how to program in Free Pascal, Free BASIC, ANSI C++, C#, Visual BASIC, Java, Python, and a few others. Make it the basics of the language from hello world to a program that maybe reads and writes records from a text file. Forget about the GUI and Objects and make it text based and cover those later. It will mostly be figuring out math problems and then maybe end up doing an employee payroll program that writes a report on salaries and checks. But will be under an OSS license so others can add to it and make it better later on. I'd also give source code with the PDF and consider putting it in RTF, ODF, and other formats so it can be read by almost anyone.
But my health and family come first.
Anyway the OSS versions if the OSS joins in we can turn into better eBooks. If not I will write intermediate and advanced versions of those books for sale for eBook readers and try to start up a small business as eBook readers and eBooks catch on.
All of this talk that "your language is too complex" is nonsense, look at how Complex the Modern English language is, so why don't we just drop English for Dutch/Flemish or German or French or Spanish? Hey learn the different dialects of Chinese as we owe their government a lot of money. BTW I am learning Thai, "Sawadee krup!" The r is usually silent and that is Thai for hello said by a male if a female says it then krup is replaced with ka. :) Yes I want to learn those languages as well but lack the time and money.
My resume was getting ridiculous as I had over 37+ programming languages I knew, most of them dead or dying or early being used. Maybe only 5+ are used in the modern world. So now if I rewrite it I will trim the number of languages to those still in use and say "and other programming languages not listed here, but ask for a separate sheet if interested."

Look at the Doom and Quake engines, etc Doomsday is a nice example of that and you can take the WADs from your old ID games, even if they only played on DOS with a PC and Doomsday can be ported to other platforms besides Windows. eDuke32 is a Duke Nukem engine and you can buy the DOS Duke Nukem program for $5.99 if you lost your old floppy or CD, or if you are new to it, just pay the $5.99 and use the data files to play under eDuke32 then.
I bought my son a Sega Genesis 40 game collection for the Playstation 3. He likes them. Heck on the PC and other platforms there are emulators but you need to buy the ROMs. This Sega Genesis 40 game PS3 sounds like such a good idea it should be sold for Windows, Linux, and the Mac OS X systems. This way old games can still be played on modern systems. So even if the company does not open source it, they can still sell the old version to modern systems and use an emulator or something and then a whole new generation of fans enjoy it.
I grew up with the Atari 2600, a member of the IMagic Numb Thumb club and won an Activison Chopper Command contest at a local store and got a poster for it. I was so close to beating the Swordquest series until Atari canceled it for some reason, otherwise I would have qualified for the main contest to see if I could win the prizes that are objects used in the game with gold, silver, and gems to make them. I heard a rumor this was one Jack Trermiel left Commodore and bought out Atari and then to save money canceled the contest. I had an Atari 2600 ready to buy an Atari 800 computer until I learned how Atari treated their programmers and fired a lot of them and they formed IMagic and Activsion, and some went to Mattel and others to Coleco to make a system to compete with Atari. So when the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga 1000 came out I bought the Amiga 1000 and never regretted it. I got an Amiga 500 that replaced it and run my Bard's Tale on it, and hope Western RPG games like that make a comeback as every RPG (or most) are Eastern based Japanese Anime stuff, so when I ask Gamestop for Nintendo DS games that are RPGs based on D&D and stuff, does not exist they claimed. Man I want to learn Nintendo DS programming and write my own RPG using Western European and US themes in them. Paladins, Warriors, Bards, Clerics, ect. :)
Since I haven't worked since 2002 and have no work place to ask at, and search all over Google to find one near me. The ones I do find are the fake recyclers and Google does not have the ability to tell me which ones are fake or real. So I've found way too make fake recyclers via Google and they load up Google's results to make it hard to find a real one.
Even that ripoff and scam artist place won't take my old computer parts. I tried that and they just laugh at me.
I got a lot of old computer parts from the 1990's. Motherfracking Recycling companies near me are a darnned joke and refuse to take tech made before 2002. Then calls me picky and unreasonable when I ask them to take my 90's tech.
Then some want $50 to haul off a $15 CRT tube monitor that do.
Any ideas or suggestions? I don't want to throw them in a dumpster and have mercury leaks and all that, I don't want to harm the environment. I don't want to pay $50 a monitor to get rid of them either.
Are those types of businesses scams and frauds as well? How can I find one to take them for free. The Freecycle group in my area is a joke BTW, get a lot of no shows and then nothing happens and nobody cares.

What is wrong with the rest of us not so young and hip? Us older developers can run rings around the young hip developers and write better quality code with more features and faster and as few security flaws as possible.
Yes we do FOSS as well, but will write for Microsoft if they stop this stupid stuff that only the young and hip can write software for their "copycat" cell phone technology, etc. :)
Heck us older developers can mentor the young and hip ones to become better and do what we do, without making all the mistakes we made as young and hip developers 10 or 20 years ago. Why is it that only the hipe and young developers get the grants, loans, and investment money to start up software companies and they are usually 20 something men fresh out of college that learned the theories but lack real world experience, common sense, learning form our mistakes, and the knowledge of at lears 37 to 49 different programming languages and the patterns of analysis and design an research and we can adapt to any computer platform, any language, and any framework and 20 something code monkeys would rather sit at a computer all day and troll the Internet instead of working harder and smarter like us older developers. Also why does Microsoft and Apple only target male developers and forget about the female ones out there also needing grants, loans, and investment money for their own software companies? Women can program just as much as men can, and the young hip 20 something men make fun of women and say negative things about them (we never did at that age) and then whine about not being able to date a woman and never having sex. Shoot just stop the female trolling and bashing and treat women as equals and not sex objects and as human beings and maybe you'll meet the right woman some day. But honestly this younger generation has more technology and opportunities that we older developers had at their age. But they waste it with stuff that don't even matter in the real world. Don't get me started, alright?

did you claim to say reading eBooks takes more time than reading real books? That a company who publishes real books and magazines like PC World would conduct a scientific study they claim is unbiased even if they are in the very business that eBooks threaten to compete with and possibly shut out. That they are not doing this to manipulate, scare, or use psychological warfare/operations to get more people to avoid the eBook market and buy more of their paper based books and magazines?
If you say so sir, but me and Mrs. Columbo seem to think that scientific studies done this way by biased sources, based on history always make biased claims and just McDonald's will do a scientific study showing their food is healthly and allows one to lose weight by eating a lot of it, and Microsoft claims Linux, a competitor to Windows has more security holes and bugs in it and that so does Firefox have more bugs and security flaws than Internet Explorer that this is starting to develop into some type of pattern.
But you know sir, figures can lie, but sometimes liars figure that even a peer reviewed scientific theory proven the best way it can will fool people even if it is biased and a sockpuppet scientist or someone else rubber stamped it for money and called it a peer review, but I digress if the public ever find that out, or figures out such things happen, no public relations you can do will be able to recover from this.
Oh yeah one more question sir, if eBooks are electronic books and digital information in the same way as web sites like say Slashdot are, and other studies show that one can read web pages (digital information) faster than printed newspapers, books, and magazines and these scientific studies were done by third party neutral scientific groups with no bias and nothing to gain, why is yours right and theirs is wrong?
Oh yeah sir, I hate to keep bothering you like this, but one more thing that bugs me, maybe you can shed some light on it, there was once a scientific theory and study that said boys were smarter than girls long ago. Because of this most of western civilization considers females to be weaker, less intelligent, and not to be treated with equal rights as males are. It was peer reviewed and proven. Then later as new theories and new technology and ideas came about they found out that girls learn education differently than boys do and that they had to change the way they teach so girls can learn and reach their potential, so something that was through to be true a long time ago and scientifically proven was later found to be flawed and wrong and in error. So education got changed to adapt to teaching girls to help them learn better and become smarter, even than most boys. That in some areas girls, women, and females in general are smarter than us males, and because of this type of stuff kept most women from entering the math and science areas which is why males had dominated them, but now due to this correction more women are getting into Math and Science areas and more women are attending colleges than men now. They didn't do the research to see how education worked that allowed boys and girls to learn and see if it was a factor. I believe using my own powers of logic deduction and detective mode, that your study used people not as smart as most on the Internet who use eBooks and thus took longer to read because they weren't computer savvy or technical enough to figure out how to use an eBook reader properly as most Slashdotters that could be used in such research may be used to find out they read eBooks faster than real books because they understand how tech works and electronic devices being the geek geniuses that we are, instead of the average person who cannot figure out what the difference between "save" and "save as" and choose RTF or Word 2002/2003 format for Office 2007/2010 to share documents with older versions of MS-Office and non-Windows machines that cannot read such files.
