As far as I know Data and his brother Lore do not have any red LEDs and Lore turned out to be a really bad Apple ('scuse the pun). So how do we know that we are all safe?
It's out first for desktop Linux (maybe the start of a new trend?) but it's open source so expect a MSWin version shortly from Gaim team."
Let Windoze users suffer at least three versions behind until they start coming over from the dark side in droves. They will likely stay to find out how the other small percentage of a half lives and never leave.
I was working for a PC repair company in the mid-80's and had this very intermittent 40MB Hard drive (considered quite large in those days). I called the manufacturer and said the drive was having problems and wanted and RMA number so I could return it and get a replacement drive as it was still under warranty.
He tells me that if the drive tests out OK then we will be charged for the replacement drive and they would send it back to us COD. Given the intermittent nature of the problem - this was likely to happen. Fortunately the business next door happened to have an Arc welder that came in handy and I solved my intermitent problem...
33600 USR external with a flaky power supply connector that I have to hold in or the fricken thing will fall out. But I am the best one-handed typist that you will ever see...
The biggest problem with IPX was scalability (15 hop limit). Novell could have got around the NSAP broadcasts just like Microsoft did with NetBIOS broadcasts (WINS, AD, and DNS resource records etc.). but the 15 hop limit was a problem given all of the existing IPX gear in the marketplace that would need to support IPX2.
Novell was also very late to start controlling unique IPX addresses by maintaining a central registry. Just imaging everyone just picking a public IP address willy nilly and expecting the Internet to function efficiently.
You're telling me! the haven't made tinfoil out of actual tin for years, it's all aluminium. Some poor dudes who don't know this little tidbit are 0wn3d and they don't suspect a thing...
Let me get this straight... On the guy's todo list is to find a good todo list organizer to manage his todo list that will tell him to find a todo list organizer to mangage his todo list....
I was true blue assembly guy for many years and had such an extensive library of assembly routines that I could keep up with most c programmers at the time.
However, My most sought after skill with my peers was not debugging programs, but using DOS debug to hack around the copy protect schemes in use at the time for various apps and games...
Once I was trying for about 15 minutes to get into a machine that a co-worker locked out. I knew he used really simple passwords and tried them all. secret...password...firstname...lastname...name of his pet... you name it and I got bubkiss, notta, zip, no joy, crappola
Then he just showed up and pressed the enter key. I said you have a blank password!!!! He just laughed and said - It fooled you didn't it? how long were you trying?
That is really great stuff man but... but I tend to eat higher up on the food chain. You need some protein man! That hotdog does not cut it - you know what those are made of don't you? All beef does not mean all meat!
Oh, and that lazanga does not have any real meat in it too. I found that out from my vegan girlfriend, who also had me over once for thanksgiving dinner. She put this thing on the table and when I asked her what it was she proudly say's Tofurkey! Tasted like crap.
Vegans, go figure, when you try to tell them that what you were really hankering for is a deep fried "real" turkey dinner for thanksgiving. They go ballistic with all this health crap mumbo jumbo!
Bananas everywhere...

The bridge is 886 ft high - so if you are 6' tall then the bungee cord should be 880 ft long. Unless my math is way off...
Yes but, would a thief even think to steal a stereo out of a Yugo?
