Maybe there's a way to send one of those "net send" messages to the network saying the server is going down for a reboot? Doesn't it say something like that when you do it on the console to all those logged in?
I had a friend looking for something like this a few months back. I'm going to dig up his email address and send him this review. Plus, this is probably what I'll end up getting for my living room, playing it off my Linux file server. As long as the server can run text-mode.
Verizon (my local phone company) got my name wrong somehow when I signed up for my phone. So I was going to get it changed, until I got some junk mail (snail, not e) with that mispelled name on it. Hrm... interesting indeed. So now I know when Verizon sold my info to some telemarketers or whatever. Plus, when people call looking for Mr. Gandnee, I can say wrong number:-)
So maybe they don't code it so all their customer's spam gets through. Maybe only 10%. Or 1%. Or 0.01%. Whatever, it would still be a big number considering how much spam gets sent around each day.
Sounds like when that one phone company (I think it was AT&T) was selling technology to block telemarketers to consumers, and selling technology to get around technology to block telemarketers to telemarketers.
I hate bruised fruit. And sometimes it's really hard to tell by only looking at it if it is or not (case in point, bananas). I never buy an apple without first "feeling it up", so to speak.
This won't stop me, although for some things like peaches, I wouldn't mind it, because I like my peaches slightly crisp, and would learn to look for the non-ripe-showing stickers.
I had a great idea here at work to eliminate paper-copy signing (which just get disposed of once all the information is entered) and just use a tablet PC to do a digital signature. The hard part has been convincing the boss to shell out the green for the tablet PC.
There is a such thing as a DVI->VGA converter... hell, I have 2 of them that came with my dual-dvi video card (It's a GeForce4 MX440 though), and you can order them from newegg if you wanted.
If it sucks, then how come I see carts for Chrono Trigger going for $75+ at the local used game shops? The author (of the article, not the parent post) is a lamer.
I had a friend who played both, he said Chrono Trigger was better. I dunno, I never played either.
I have a newspaper article of that posted on my cork-board in my room. I always like to chuckle about the headline "Windows 98 crashes on Bill Gates" and reverse it to "98 Windows crash on Bill Gates"
In yet more news, SCO will be suing the Department of Forestry and various trees around the country.
SCO CEO Darl McBride was quoted in the anouncement as saying: "The defendants in question have been using our intellectual property, root, for many years. We feel this is a breach of our intellectual property rights and that we deserve compensation."
I've seen a few posts already about "stop beating the dead horse" (to quote one post).
If you'll kindly notice, everything SCO has been posted under the "Caldera" icon. So here's how to turn that off, for those that don't want to see any SCO stories anymore.
The DMCA is a bad law, but it does not outlaw "hacking" or "doing things with computers" in general.
Then how come there are so many lame lawsuits that use the DMCA to try and do just that? Like the recent Gamespy suit for somebody exposing bugs they (supposedly) have been notified about and won't fix.
You could always do what I did... I bought an N64 and a 'Cube for the same reason... Super Smash Bros (Melee in the case of the Cube).
It's an awesome party game to play with friends, much like Mario Party 4 (which I have played but haven't purchased yet). And with the impending release of Mario Kart Double Dash (or whatever it's called) I'm glad I bought one when the price hit $99.
If you want some background on the Celtic (and eventually Christian) origins of All Hallows Eve and All Souls' Day there's a really good (and long) explanation here, although I dunno how much longer after Halloween it'll stay up.
with the lights after the emergency vehicles pass by... where I live at least. The lights seem to get "stuck" in the cycle and then will sometimes drop parts of the cycle for about 20 minutes (I've waited at a red turn signal for that long while the cross traffic and opposing turn lanes got to go, and yes, I was on the stop bar).

That a higher clock speed means a faster processor.

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

And, as they say, hilarity ensues...

For the future, i.e. not today's comic, hopefully this URL will work
Or a direct link to the image if that one doesn't work.
Next thing you know companies will discover that caffeinated sharks will work for meat and start outsourcing their software to the oceans.
How many average gamer/pc users have an SFF case? All the ones I know don't... most of them have a Dell.

Probably would be cooler if you had one of those hedge mazes

You're done! Now shut the hell up.

One word: Diebold.
It sounds like Charles Ross has recaptured some of the magic. Lucas has certainly lost it.
You can end up losing lots of things when people put fat sacks of cash money in front of you.

Western Gran Turismo fans will have to wait a little longer for the final version
So what else is new? We've always had to wait longer for the final version...
It's not just a stupid American holiday...
