    in German. But the problem is the conjugations and things that English got almost completely rid of that makes it very suitable for programming, whereas most other Indo-European languages are just grammatically too complex to look acceptable as a reduced pseudo-language to programme with.

    Oh, yes I forgot it's always better to translate another translation than to use the original for other translations. If you go to languages that are as different from Indo-European languages as, say Japanese, you better make very sure what the original caption said and intended in all its subtleness and then translate that to such a language, rather than trying to second-guess the above through the filter of yet another translation that just can help but introduce new ambiguities and unclarity.

    How good to know that our tax money is spent in schools for things that benefit the education of our children! I think they should also introduce retina scans and millimeter wave scanners. That'll make all the difference at the next PISA test.

    I slapped a non-glossy protection film on the thing for 10 bucks and was done, what was your specific problem? I think especially if you have kids you REALLY WANT to protect your LCD from pointing fingers...

    Well, not exactly. In most cases "frei" means "free" as in speech, however there are quite a few cases where "frei" can mean "free" as in beer.

    Freibier - free beer, Freikarte - free ticket, Freifahrt - free ride, Eintritt frei - free admission, Feuer frei - fire at will (oops, OT).

    German is not only very precise it is also one of the languages with the richest stock of exceptions you could find ;-)

    Why do you need to hate OS X, just because you don't like Apple? I personally love OS X, don't particularly like Apple too much.

    I love my Ubuntu Box, but I think Linus Torvalds is a dick, I also have a certain dislike for Stallmans overly zealous attempts of forcing people to his idea of freedom (BSD is fine for me). I respect him, though for what he's achieved for free software.

    I can like Linux esp. Ubuntu for it's technical merits, while at the same time diskliking its "Leading Personalities". Is that such a difficult thing to do?

    What's wrong with Quartz extreme? At least on the Mac they could save themselves a lot of work if they

    a) got their shit together, bite the bullet and after 8 years finally move PS over to Cocoa and make this application fit for competition on OS X again

    b) used all the nice technology that is in OS X and Quartz for a change.
