just because angry white guy doesn't agree with you or the general slashdot geek community doesn't mean he is wrong. I mean.. you can't really trust the opinions of people who spend all their time on computers and don't go outside.. can you?
I think the best thing to do in wake of this tragedy is to move on with our lives. I mean, worse tragedies than this have happened (the Holocaust) and we were able to move on eventually... we just will never forget what happened and try and prevent it from ever happening again.. that is the best we as humans can do.
Who's to say this isn't a massive conspiracy to give a reason to beef up the USA's millitary, and turn george bush jr. into a hero by leading the country during a disaster. And as a bonus, they get to blame it on bin laden and finally get rid of that hard-line muslim nuisance.

I'm not a biologist, but there is a simple question that nags me : assuming there is life on Mars in the form of bacteria or lychens, where do they find nutrients ?
This brings up an interesting point.. would the Linux operating system be approved for use by citizens? And if it were open source, any security measures that were 'forced' to be implemented could be easily circumvented... which would be illegal?
