That "Cat herding" commercial by far was the best commercial ever! There is nothing like bringing in Half a million short hairs. (And it was a good game, The Titans put on a hell of a show!)
A couple months ago I had the same dilemna. I looked all over the internet and found no cases under ~ $225. Then I decided to see what I could get through my employer (OEM). I found a deal at a local place called Winotek. They had one case that came with a power supply. It wasn't that good of a deal. Then I found that if I bought the Rackmount case and a seperate power supply, it would only cost $165 which is a much better deal.
This makes me think... Now since we have a "suprise proof weather predition system" they can warn us about every drop of rain. Next time they say the snow word, hundreds of morons run to the store and buy all the bread and bottled water they can. this is insanity!
Gee! What a deal. I can be the first visitor to space to get to ride aboard a crippled, leaking, decomposing space station! This reminds me of an article posted a while ago about astronauts possibly having sex in space, on a long trip to Mars. Now, for $40 Million and $25 Million for your partner, you could get it on in space. I need to go check my checking account balance!
Doesn't the Handspring Visor already define what an iPalm would be? It's cheap, talks USB and comes in 6 "trendy" colors. Who could ask for anything more? I love mine, and I saved a lot of money.
Is it just me, or is it *EVERYTIME* a new graphics board comes out everyone is like "I've gotta get one of these." Exactly how much video processing power do most people need. I have an ATI All-in-Wonder Pro (AGP) with a VooDoo II Add-on. Quake runs fine.:) --Evan
One problem I have found with many linux newbies is that they never know what a program is called and how to run it. I mean, sure, you have KDE or GNOME default menus, but all of those applications on your menu are oddly named and most newbies are not going to know what they do. I get calls all of the time from people telling me that they are looking for a program to do something. Fortunatly, I know the names (from years of use), and I tell them what to type into teir Xterm to run it. Maybe something like a self-configuring intelligent menu could be useful to all of us. Of course it would be a little tough to make, being that there are a zillion Window Managers out there, but isn't that what linux is about? Being able to make really obscure code to do something really cool? --Evan
First the RIAA does its version of "ordering" CMU to disconnect everyone that has MP3s "shared". Now the FBI and Some ISP (becamation.com) just disconnects their webserver? All of this kind of seems to go against what the Constitution of the United States of America says about privacy etc... I am scared for my own website(s). How long is it before someone doesn't like what I have and pulls the plug on my box?
I am having the same problem. I am using Communicator 4.7 (Linux)... This is interesting, cause they SAID it only happens with 4.07 and lesser. I am happy to see that Netscape is so up to date.
Rumor had it that this was that "Micro Kernel" Chip capable of "emulating" another type of chip (x86, motorola, sparc, etc...) Is that still the rumor or did I miss something? I would think that could explain Linus's involvement.
I don't know about you, but I really think that the easy listening music has to go. And as mentioned earlier, it wouldn't be a bad thing to have some female input for your "show"...
I think you are dumb! Everyone knows that WindowMaker is the best! Maybe GNOME or KDE are ok if you a) Suck at using UNIX, or b) Have a really over-necessarily powerful computer.. Although, thats my prejudice...
Has this kind of stuff being going on with broadcast ICMP and other annoying things? (mis-configured routers enable this?) I saw something like this happen at on employer's network over a year ago. We unplugged the T1 uplink and it did not stop. To our best guess it was a program running on several machines (solaris) which only stopped after a "mass-scale" reboot. I wondering if this is becoming popular or if this has been going on for a while. Anyone have any interesting stories about this?
Of course no one would hoard that many MP3s. That would be wrong:)
Now I just need a really fast CDROM to rip MP3s to store on my 69GB Linux Partiton. But really, now big is too big for one drive? I really dig RAID (5) because it is redundant, but you could lose months of work (or MP3s) if that drive were to toast.
Wouldn't an SB Live! take care of that for you? It is a common card, and it is fairly cheap in comparison to some of the Digital IO cards I have used in the past.. Besides, the 3d sound makes games really kewl.

My 2 cents.

On the topic of google, try doing a search for "More evil than satan". Some of the top ten hits should make you laugh.

I just cannot wait to see my Work Email filled by the pointless drone of our Windows NT "Administrator" preaching about Security on windows boxen.
Gee- What a suprise for Microsoft- A buggy insecure product.

I was just thinking that the word "pilot" could have really helped out the title of this article.
