So is it on principle -- namely to punish Motorola for not putting out OS updates
You will punish Lenovo/Motorola by giving them money for the phone and then never using their after-sale support (updates, hotline, etc.)? That's a weird way to look at it. You are probably one of their favorite type of customer.
Many of the more interesting skill gems are only available after character level 19/24/31. Some even have to drop in game (not available as quest reward).
PoE has such a complex system of skills and support gems that you can make many skills do what you want. There are the "Faster Attack" and "Faster Projectiles" support gems, as well as several skills that can "fill the screen" as you put it - gems like "Fork" and "Chain" that can be applied to any projectile skill, or "Increased Area of Effect" for any AoE skill. Of course it takes some time to level your character and the respective skill/support gems to reach that level of destruction.
The fact that muscle burns more calories then fat is true even when you are at rest. So when your body has more muscles, your RMR goes up, regardless of the actual physical activity performed. But obviously if you spend a lot of time at rest, your muscles will turn back to fat. (I know this is oversimplification.)
The thing is that most non-IT companies outsource IT operations to dedicated IT companies. In this case you don't choose the level of competence of individual admins, you just agree to (buy) some SLAs for the different activities. In my experience it is much easier and cheaper to find an outsourcing company to take care of your Windows machines than it is for Linux, AIX, HPUX, Solaris or other UNIX(like) systems, not to mention mainframes and stuff.
Actually what the GP describes is exactly my experience in almost 10 years of dealing with different French customers and suppliers. I understand people can and should take vacations, but it is quite common to have the relevant support staff (usually a single person) leave without having anyone else available for at least some urgent cases. Just wait two weeks until this one guy comes back? That's not a good way to do business. Also don't get me started on 2 hour lunch breaks. When I read TFA, I was surprised this guy even saw 3 hours of actual work - my experience says it's one hour before and one after lunch. Of course there are exceptions to this. But they are just that - exceptions.
All the physical copy does is save a few hours of downloading.
For me, the digital copy is always downloaded faster compared to going to the nearest store and buying it there, not to mention I can start the download and install remotely from work and have it ready by the time I come home:)
Most Indie games are complete trash too and the best AAA titles are far better than the best Indie games. I'd say that the average quality of Indie games is far lower as well...
I encourage you to compare Diablo 3 (very clearly an AAA title) to any of the other recent ARPGs (most notably Path of Exile).
AAA titles usually have good sales due to hype, but that doesn't equal to game quality in my book.
Actually you should look at the value of the target to be hit by the missile, not at the value of the missile to be intercepted. You can destroy infrastracture and equipment worth of millions of dollars with a single missile, not to mention that most of the stuff that is destroyed can't be replaced instantly. The $100,000 cost of the interceptor is small compared to that.
Around here, there is a notable difference in quality of the road surface between the lanes, because there are plenty of heavy load trucks. I actually do drive in the passing lane on an empty highway just to save on shocks maintenance costs.
In Windows, it works in a different way - you have to drag something onto the taskbar item and *wait a second or so without releasing the mouse button*, after which the window will appear.
It's not what I call intuitive in any way, though.
But what about my LOTR EE discs? Three parts, two discs each, that's six DL disks. Now you propose I have 12 of them? No way! I rather ripped them in lower quality and merged them together onto a one single-layer DVD, so that I have to switch the discs just twice, instead of eleven(!!!) times...
Regardless, if by some miracle the MPAA and all of its' member organizations disappeared overnight, it really wouldn't take long for a new business model to take over and the flow of movies to continue.
No, actually what would happen is that even faster, another organization would appear and preserve the current bussiness model. Sad, but true.
Have you actually examined the implementation of the burning feature in XP? It copies all the files to a temporary location on the system partition (consuming that much HDD space there) and then when you tell it to burn the files, it creates an ISO image on the system partition (you guessed it, consuming once more it's size of HDD space), which it burns afterwards. The system partition must therefore have over 1GB of free space to be able to burn a standard 650MB CD (almost 10GB for a DVD!), not to mention the useless copying between disks.
One of my friends uses hiss cell phone as a remote during presentations. His PowerBook is hooked to the projector somewhere in the room and he stands in front of the audience, controling his presentations using his T68i. Quite impressive to see...
All these days I wondered if I am the only one typing:W and getting the lame error message all the time. Is there a way to map ":W" so that it does the same as ":w"? Thanks in advance...

Click on any item and while you are "holding" it with your mouse (while the item is the cursor), press Enter to open chat and type "/itemlevel".
Not the most intuitive thing, but very useful for crafting items.

I'm pretty sure they didn't celebrate the events fom 19xx in 1752!

I think you have a pretty high chance there, Bill. BTW, do you have any snow in Redmond?

Whoa...
You sure don't need emacs with this MS-DOS editor ;-]
I've never seen anyone say 'Hi, I'm an ignorant, arrogant American' quite like you have.
You must be new here.
On the other hand, if you actually searched for nato phonetic alphabet, the first link is exactly what you wanted. Strange, isn't it? ;)
True peasant revolutions are not rare. They are just rarely successfull enough to actually make any difference.
Remember [...] When Warcraft liberated computer strategy games from "waiting for the other players to go," in favor or RTS?
Sorry to nitpick, but The first Warcraft was actually Blizzards (very successful) clone of Dune 2 by Westwood.
