If I code a J2ME game that is a first person shooting game shooting Daryl how mnay of you would downlaod it on your mobile and play it?
Obviously I cannot do this through mobile operator portals as they woudl quash it..but nothing says I cannot do this as free game to donwload at free game download sites:)
They already got compensated for distributing cod eto linus under GPL..
both as Caldera employees and having free access to code..
What did you buy when the copyright infringment claims made identify only BSD code and code contributed by Caldera employess under GPL which nmeans the claim is entirely baseless...
Considerign that whne the Windows project was started at MS that Unix code was closed off to review and learning from would it be too much to conclude that AT&T's efforts to close Unix(System V) code off so tha tpeople could not learn to write secure OS kernel code might have something to do with the major mistakes made in MS Kernel code in the early 1980s that we are still experiencing?
this is code that was contributed by Caldera employees and thus released under full SCO Group knowledge to Linux..
So where is the magical proof that McBride keeps claiming that he has?
I smell a fraud lawsuit against McBride on the basis of both Federal and State BlueSky Laws on the basis on making false factual public statements that investors relied upon to buy SCO Group stock..
and Boise should know better than to perpuate false information about the laws and regs on software copyrights!

get a hold of the orginal contractor that put that mess in and his company and explain in no uncertain terms you will attempt to get his Electrical contractors license from the state revoked if he does not correct the problems..
If he is with a union get a hold of the union shop steward and raise holy cain..
Do these acts right and you get it fixed fro free..
You have already mention the need to use Oracle which is $5k per cpu..
If you switch distros you want to make sure you are not placed in the saem decision 6 months or 2 years down the road again..
Thus I recommend looking into using debian instead of SuSE..
As you know SuSE is partnering with vendors such as Sun and thus wil be in the same bussiness model as Red Hat in wanting to charge for enterprise versions either through support or etc..
Do not forget to factor in training costs of employees of going from distro to the next...
Also do the idiot checks, take a demo/dev version of Oracle and do test installs on the distro your considering..

Seems tome if there was poor design deciosns, no amount of systematic coding process will rease the system erros and security flaws associated with those design problems unless the odl kernle is completely thrown out in the trash and they start anew..

Its good that IBM is helping put their won legal views of the GPL in a court setting as they would not have signed up orginally to do any opnesource code without a thorough review of GPL by their onw legal staff..
