I mean, you've got this freakin' gun that can telekinetically heft and fling oil drums over great distances, but you've still gotta worry about flashlight batteries?
Flashback 20 years: You mean you have a walkman that can carry 10,000 songs, has as much file storage as 1000 PCs, can sychronize contact information, plays games, has an LCD screen, all in a package the size of a deck of cards, and you still gotta worry about the battery wearing out in 8 hours!
Wrong. Grandparent is right. The gravity gun must use a crapload of energy. No way around it. No f*cking way. The same principle to energize it could be applied to the flashlight, so the crapload of energy could be used to shed light for hundreds of hours.
On the other hand, the "walkman of the future", just uses the same energy as the old one, but in an efficient way. -- Wiki de Ciencia Ficcion y Fantasia
basic storyline of half-life: you, as gordan freeman, work in a top secret underground laboratory, Black Mesa, doing god knows what with equipment not meant to be doing what it's doing. Game opens with you showing up to work in the test lab (in probably the absolutely best intro sequence in a game ever, simply because of the awe you have when you realize it is interactive). Something goes horribly wrong with the sample you are analyzing, the whole of Black Mesa basically blows up, and a bunch of aliens start warping in. Your job is to stay alive and get to the surface, whereupon you realize that the government is cleaning up the mess by eliminating everyone, including you. Throughout the story is the mysterious G-man, the guy in the suit, who pops up in the oddest of places to give you consternation by closing doors you just want to go through. At the end of Half-life, he gives you a choice to work with him. hence the intro to HL2.
Condensed version:
Doom meets X-files meets the crowbar!
(I'am not a fan of HL. I played the first one. It was good, but far from the revolution everybody claims. I have not played CS, so I my opinion is not based on the full facts, but, I prefer the more arcadeish FPS, like quake or Unreal to the realistic ones, so I do not think it would change) -- Wiki de Ciencia Ficcion y Fantasia
But it is true that gamefaqs is a VERY biased sample. They love rpgs, and do not care to much for FPSs.
Do remember that, on the most popular game contest, HalfLife 1 was beaten by Metroid Prime in the first rounds. If you ask me, MP is a better game than HL, but, historically, this is not so true, as HL was more revolutionary in its day than MP ever was.
Compare this with a similar competition in gamespy, where HalfLife won (second place SMB3).
It is simply because, the first ones require faqs, while a faq for a FPS is almost pointless.

Since there is only one GC emulator, which needs a BIG computer to run, they are not exactly popular. The other way to use the GC roms, is via AC loader and its ilk, which mainly use Phatasy Star Online I&II to load the roms into a real GC.
I have played FIFA since the genesis. There was certainly a good change since the 3DO version, forced by the pass to 3D. And another step forward in the current console generation. So I could say there are 3 FIFA's. The 16 bit one, the 32 bit one and the current (in which bit notation is useless).
The three incarnations are bad games, anyway. There are minor gameplay adjustment, as you can expect, but is always the same. The konami Football (well, soccer) games are WAY better.
I have played Nascar Thunder 2003 and 2004. Nascar 2004 looks slightly better, but is the same crappy game.
Madden I have only seen. I am not a fan of American Football, but, I don't think is much different.
The main feature of these games always are slightly better graphics (except in the jump between console generations, and I can predict that even this will be less noticeable in the next gen), and a bigger player database.
MP2, is almost the same engine, and a completely new game, world, enemies. If you think it is anything like the trash that EA sports churns out every year, you are blind. -- Wiki de Ciencia Ficcion y Fantasia
-This is not an incremental upgrade. They redid the entire world, reusing only the engine. -They do not release Mario 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, etc. There are a lot of sequels, yes, but not every year, and each is CLEARLY different. Madden, FIFA and all EA Sports is just the same, with different roosters. Face it. -Nintendo doesn't buy good companies and make them release shit (see the ultima games and a LOT of other examples).
EA is all evil in the industry. I stealed the following lines from a post in penny-arcade.
1) Release their sports lineup each year with only slight improvements and still charge $50
2) Buy great developers and turn them into crap
3) Buy every license they can and churn out cookie cutter games
4) Work their employees 70 hours a week with no compensation
5) Ignore the Dreamcast completely (While supporting the n-gage. Explain that.)
Not exactly like Disney, because they have added some extra levels to the game (sadly, only available through e-reader).
Also, remember that Nintendo is not selling the original Super Mario Brothers 3 for the GBA, but the Super Mario All Stars version. Disney hasn't redrawed Fantasia at all (Fantasia 2000 is just a sequel).
They hate the Single player campaign, and love multiplayer of Halo. Tycho hates the single player campaign (Gabe hasn't played it, apparently), and possibly love the multiplayer of Halo 2. -- Wiki de Ciencia Ficcion y Fantasia
But Flash (at least Jay Garrick, Barry Allen and Wally West) ARE capable of travelling through time, with help of some machines in some cases, see Crisis in Infinite Earths.
And, before Crisis, they were able to travel to other dimensions, and contact each other, so they are theorically, faster than Superman (by applying divide and conquer).
Also, no comic buff will take the Superman movies as canon, no matter how cool they are.
Halo 2 is now the highest grossing (maybe in the shortest amount of time, something like that) media item ever.
Mmm. I guess Halo 2 is the fastest selling Xbox game in history.
If you say that is something more than that, you are just a Microsoft zealot. If you say that is less than that, you are just a anti Microsoft zealot. Period.
Experience they have. They had different online services for the nes, snes, and n64 in japan, before MS or Sony entered the market.
They just want a good business model.

That is not optical, but mechanical, and generates its energy from the movement of the wheels that also read the movements?
I don't think it would be enough energy, but it maybe is. I haven't made the calculations.

No I didn't.
Those lists are always biased by the latest tendences, so it is normal to a character appearing in two popular games. to make into it.
Halo was a character?
I remember he appeared in a game called "Master Chief".
