I once interviewed at Bank of America (actually NationsBank at the time) only because I got to interview in the Sears Tower. I thought "No WAY is a bank going to hire someone like me (piercings, tattoos, no tie...)". I left the interview with my impression completely flipped over -- it seemed like a really cool place where, yes, I would stand out, but not in a negative way (I felt out-of-place, but it wasn't like they were hostile towards me).
They called me two days later offering $10K *more* than the top of my range!
They said "We felt you were perfect for the team and we know you've been interviewing at a few places, so we wanted to make sure that if you liked the position here it wouldn't come down to a decision based on salary."
That place rocks.
I don't eat at Chipotle, for very similar reasons.
Once they IPO away from McDonalds, they'll be off my Personal Boycott list. Until then, they're just part of the Internation Asshole Conglomerate of McDonalds.
have there been any recent (say, since SP2) critical security holes in IE6 that would allow an intruder to gain admin rights
I wouldn't be the one to ask, as I don't use Windows except to play poker on my girlfriend's laptop occasionally.
However, IE *is* still integral to the OS as far as I am aware (if someone believes it is not, try deleting it and its libraries manually, not just "removing" it by disabling it via the registry). Therefore, regardless what recent or current holes are known, the danger is certainly still there, no?
You're ignoring one of the main points, though: that the IE is integral to the OS.
Mozilla will, of course, have critical vulnerabilities, but it's never going to impact the system resources (unless, i suppose, you're mozilla'ing as root). IE's vulnerabilities do (and will continue to until it is finally separated from system resources).
I'm pretty sure I don't need to be that old to be able to read a transcript of a recorded event.
Uh, to get back to the, uh, the warning that I've received you may take it with how many however many grains of salt you wish, that the brown acid that is circulating around us is not specifically too good. Uh, it's suggested that you do stay away from that, course it's your own trip, so be my guest, but, uh, please be advised that there is a warning on that one ok?
If you give notice, doesn't that presuppose that you had time to *consider* giving notice and, thus, had all the opportunity in the world to do whatever you wanted to their network?
Not to say I haven't worked for a company that had similar policies to the one(s) who hustled you out the door.
Not all companies are so shortsighted, however, much to their credit. I worked for a big bank for a couple years and I knew I was in a position where my leaving could have *significant* negative impact, and I gave them the courtesy of 6 weeks notice so I could exit as gracefully as I could...I was working late on my last day, too, because I needed to, and they deserved my loyalty (they really were great to work for - my move was primarily geographic, so I wasn't leaving out of spite for them by any means).

you're saying that if I go DirecTV, I can hook up the OTA antenna to _their_ HDDVR, and it does not pass through but actually records, in high definition, local channels?
If so, does it do it with full DVR functionality, like including those programs in the program guide?
Coincidentally, I just had mine installed yesterday morning, in fact. The HR10-250 (as another reply to your post linked you). They'll even install it for you (with the dish and OTA antenna) for free. In fact, I had them run it to two other locations (you're allowed four total) - one was moving my non-HD DirecTiVo and the other was a new DirecTV receiver (also gratis!)
Notably, as well, it's a TiVo (the best, IMO, of the commercial PVRs).
Oh, my, it is like a fucking dream (except with better resolution).
it's "iPod", you insensitive clod!
I am so glad I don't work there. "Let's all stand around sucking our own dicks about how much awesomer my school is than yours." *retch*

Whatever, big dick.
"Console" has a different meaning to me, I guess, than Them.
I was actually excited for a second.
"Wow, you speak French, too!?"
*eye roll* "Apparently."
What are these "banner ads" you speak of?
Is that some kind of exciting extension I can get for Firefox?
Does it work with AdBlock?
Have they sued anyone over it?
There are plenty of people/companies with "defensive patents" simply to prevent a jackass from claiming it as their own.
Remember that Mercedes-Benz commercial re: airbags? "We've never enforced that patent." Like that.
I'm with you.

You're free to research that yourself...
But you're not going to find much looking for "Postgre". It's PostgreSQL or "Postgres" for short.
Just FYI.

Your definition of "vast" differs from mine.
I take it by the fact that you're replying that you didn't try what I suggested.
Delete IE and its libraries and reboot.
Afterward, move to a working system (log in if necessary) and reply back here with how perfectly your Windows system still works.
THAT's how integral.

I can think of plenty of people who deserve that, or worse.
Feel free to research further on your own.
it was brown.
It just came out within the last couple of months on DVD.
I pre-ordered and got mine the day it was released.
yay!
How come that's 'valid' for Windows, but we Linux folk get lambasted for suggesting that it takes some work to Linux 'how you like it'?

Mine, too. Why would anyone want to hijack a page full of "postcards" of people giving the finger?
Wow.
;)
So much effect for so little effort.
Maybe I can patent it and sue people who try to write similarly wasteful posts.
