    It sucks when you try to write portable code in C++ and you end up not being able to use some cool stuff because not all compilers support it. A friend of mine switched to Java specificly because of this.

    Yeah, that way you can't use any of the cool stuff...

    You're mis-understanding---it's a joke.

    The ``points'', insofar as there are any, are:

    1. M$ doesn't need to take drastic measures to kill GNU/Linux, because GNU/Linux isn't a drastic threat to them.

    2. If Windows does reach 70% market share (and I mean because of GNU/Linux), GNU/Linux's rise would have been dramatic, and M$ going Open Source would make sense (note the conditional).
