I just read a story on msnbc.com about AMD's 64bit processor, I close the window, check slashdot and there is the story about Intels Itanium. Anyway here is the link for msnbc.

The more CS classes, the better I say, hell Id love to take that class. Why? My resume, I try to learn as many languages as possible. Well, ones that employers like most I mean. Suck it up, take the class, get it on your belt and add it to your resume. You'll become more skilled, and maybe even have a chance at getting a job in this economy...
Anyone else find it somewhat ironic that the url for this article about a linux worm is msn-cnet.com? Dont get me wrong, I love linux more than windows....I just found that kinda funny...heh
Patience my troll, good things come to those who wait. Better things come to those who wait longer. Besides, not like you never delayed anything in your life. No one is perfect...
But how does this differ from the keys on a dvd you have to circumvent when you rip them? I dont think any company can possibly safegaurd their software with a system that is up against millions of users....eventually there will be a way to get past it.
Um, certainly I hope I am not the first slashdotter to realize this, but, good economy = increasing CD sales (ironically during the first p2p frenzy), bad economy = decreasing CD sales (also during the p2p frenzy). C'mon people, p2p doesnt change sales THAT much, the economy does!
Damn I was going to make a really cheap pc here from pricewatch....but it came to about 175, so hell 199 is really good, cept itll be a pos and last about 9 months.
Grammar correction, sorry: Hmmm, unsocial geeks programming social robots. Now tell me if I am wrong but, dont you think if an unsocial geek can program a social robot, the geek himself has the capabilities of being social himself?

If you're doing 90% of the work, you better be getting 90% of the wages and/or profits. 90% is close to 100%, do it all yourself, and take the credit. Just keep in mind blame comes with that too if something goes wrong
Anyway, with that said, why wouldnt they consider Linux/IBM (why is IBM first in the headlines?) a threat, doesnt linux have the largest chunk of the server market?
Wahoo, time to make a mockery of Steve Balmer. Developers, Developers, Developers. I was going to try and post the catchy two minute remix of the balmer video, but here is a nifty one instead. Mpeg here and Real media here.
Its our damn tax money that pays for this stuff, I say we should be able to vote on what NASA should focus on next. They really havent done anything ground-breaking lately. The U.S. should take a vote on whether or not we want NASA to goto Mars, or build a space station on the moon. If that were to happen, people would be more interested in Space, and be willing to spend more on space exploration, thus it wont hurt science.
I think the moderators took that wrong, or I posted it wrong, what I MEANT was that KDE 3.0 already kicks major ass, and here we are with 3.1 I just dont see how the best can get better.
A pirate walks into a bar with a big steering wheel in his pants, the thing is clearly sticking out. So he goes up to the bar and the bartender says "Why do you have a steering wheel in your pants?". The pirate replies "Arrrgh its driving me nuts!"
Have you heard of the new pirate movie coming out? Yeah its rated Arrr.
Heh heh heh, I crack myself out, now tell me, you got a laugh out of that whether it be cause the jokes were funny or you were laughing at me, either way I just made a minute of your workday go by a little faster.
Right now, the MPAA is trolling IRC for servers, and reporting infringing IPs back to Time Warner, who promptly warns customers against their usage. I've seen some of the letters.
If thats sucessful, they will just move to an IRC server that doesnt support finger/dns. I know a few irc servers that you cant get other peoples ip, you can dns/finger them all you want (get your mind out of the gutter!) but it will still return YOUR ip. With that said the MPAA/RIAA might try and force the server to release the ips of certain people, but the server has every right to deny that request do to 'security' reasons.
"I want the list of ips for all these people!" Sorry, that poses a security threat not only to our servers, but to our many faithful users:)
*sigh* Please dont flame me for what I have just said...Im only stating what will most likely happen.
This is like the chicken and the egg story. Only with warez, what came first, extremely high prices for software or software pirates? Software developers always whine about how pirates drive costs through the roof, and pirates always whine about how they dont but their software because its too overpriced.

Can they improve upon the best? Honestly....can they?
They sail in boats on the caribbean right?
With that said, I have some cheesey pirate jokes.

Just my $.02
:)
And that $.02 isnt enough to pay for $600.00 software LoL
The difference is that piracy occurs no matter what the cost.
Not true, how much does Samba get pirated, or Snort, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Squid etc etc....
