Bullshit like this is exactly what killed rallies as a form of influence. Geez, you might try hiring some professional protesters while you're at it.
PS you have no idea what "Blitzkrieg" means, please stop misusing the term, or at least learn to spell it correctly. Hint: speed and movement, not concentration of firepower.
In another 10 years or so, the idea of holding a controller to play a game will be viewed as ridiculous. But people will still sit on the couch and watch movies. These games are viewed as "playable" today because you grew up playing them, and still remember how to do it. Walt Disney != this game design guy.
The difference is that in 50 years, people will still watch Walt Disney films. They won't experience anything by this guy, whatever his name is, because his creations will be considered primitive and un-fun by then. Ever tried to watch silent films? Yes I know they're an art form blah blah and I'm an uneducated country bumpkin philistine and they're far superior to anything that Jean-Claude Van Damme appears in, but jeez I've tried and most of them are just unwatchable. Likewise with this guy's video games...try playing something from 10 years ago, not even talking about the graphics, the user interfaces are unusable. Believe me, I've tried, it just plain doesn't work.
People who use Joomla don't have a "favorite scripting language". Unfortunately, attitudes like yours are far too common and software suffers as a result.
Sorry, but you're a total idiot. China has never been an expansionist power. They only fill the land that has ever been China, such as Tibet. Korea is a totally different culture and has only ever been vassalized, not conquered. Would China want with broken-down North Korea anyway?
Yeah. Except for the part where they go back to Mexico. That ain't gonna happen. Let's see: live in real country, or third-world shithole? How do you think America collected 11% of the entire population of Mexico? Hint: it's not because people are going back home.
Wow, an old-style Usenet kook! Here on Slashdot! Take a picture, quickly! See how he starts by rationally discussing the subject at hand in the first paragraph, before introducing an unrelated issue in the second that refers to a shared experience that nobody else had. The last three paragraphs are a great display of the Usenet kook in his natural environment. Just look at that plumage!
Ah, whew! That cools things off. We don't have to worry about any pandemics, ever! And heck, why worry at strangling viruses in the crib when we can just ignore the problem and let them spread?
Pretty much. Peasants live with farm animals in the same house. They're not too picky about cleanliness. Going out into the countryside is like taking a trip in a time machine. You go further back in time the farther you get from an urban area.
It's more like the guy wants to trumpet to the world, "Look! I have a girlfriend! No really!" He even includes her photo, the sure tipoff. If he had just wanted a novice computer user, he could have used anyone else - but no, here it is linked from Slashdot in all its glory, and he can brag to everyone about his point-and-lick interface.
A nice theory. But that sort of isolationism died out decades ago. We're all interconnected now - self-sufficiency is only practiced by basket case economies like Zimbabwe and North Korea. Nice non-answer to the question, though.
While the phrase "state secret" has a sinister European feel to it, I'm always interested to know about the opposite. How can one country run around with no secrets, while its neighbors keep very good secrets? The open country will be at a huge disadvantage. Espionage works.
Sure I know the history of Spain. It's a total coincidence that the movie just "happens" to be located in an "epoch"? And this epoch just coincidentally happens to be a romantic portrayal of communist insurgents? Excuse me if I don't sympathize with people who would have created another Cuba or Cambodia.
Have you read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Adopted by all UN members way back in 1948. You might check in there for verification of healthcare as a basic human right.
Pan's Labyrinth? Did we see the same movie? The movie I saw was a love letter to Communist insurgents, with a fantasy plotline tacked on as an afterthought.
Dude, a man who opens a post with "le sigh" and thinks that cash is outdated is certainly effete. Credit card transactions cost a percentage, and merchants are always happier when you pay with cash. Seriously - so what if they make less money? Let me guess, you don't know anyone who owns a business. Nobody goes around recording serial numbers of banknotes unless it's a ransom payment.
You know, every time you use that card, you're costing the merchant money. Credit card processing isn't free.
In addition, cash is untracable. I'm no Luddite, but I like the idea that I don't leave a trail everywhere I go. Also, keeping cash around and having a reputation as a guy who usually pays cash can come in handy in certain situations.
Plus, you come across as an effete douchebag. It's sort of the same thing as people who loudly proclaim that they don't watch TV.
It's a big laser beam. Of course it's news for nerds. If the LHC works, great, but that's just one story. Instead of moaning about how provincial it is, how about going to the site and reading the specs of that thing?

Meh, AI doesn't lift a finger unless it can criticize the USA.
Zona Europa has a great writeup about how Chinese factories cheat. It's an eye-opener, it's got ways of cheating that I would never have dreamed of.
Well they did go from 0.5 to 0.7...maybe in another ten years they can increment two tenths more to 0.9! 1.0 is right around the corner, bay-bee!
My friend, I think you misunderstand what "security through obscurity" actually is.

I see that you have obviously never been to India. And I like how you bash India's thousands of years of culture by calling it "awkward traditions".

Ah, so you'll be calling the shots, and the rest of us will be out there actually, you know, doing it. Doesn't sound like a good division of labor.
Yes, and this kind of basic ignorance is one of the things that is so frighteningly wrong with the world today.
