I think that the site was changed since I last took it a couple of years ago I read about it in the junk magazine that I got when I had my Sympatico ADSL account. The test claimed that moved to the left considerably since I did the test, but in reality I think I have moved toward the centre. I feel less rigid in my views, and am willing to look at conservative economic ideas like thinking government surpluses are a good thing. I just bought a house and like the idea of lower taxes, don't want my house expropriated and want the pigs^h^h^h^hpolice there if someone tries to break in.

    USA
Based on a mapquest search, from Grand Falls Maine to San Diego California, the distance is 5314.92 km.

If you take a car with reasonable gas milage (for North America at least) 9L/100km, you would use 85L or 22.3 US Gallons of gasoline. At $5.50/gallon, it would cost 122.65 to cross Denmark.

To cross the US, which is not the largest country in North America, you would use up 590L or 155 US Gallons. At 2.23 per gallon, (the price I paid in Massena NY last weekend) it would cost you 345.65 to cross the US.

Therefore (faulty logic coming up), despite gas costing more in Denmark, it is still cheaper to use your can there because you don't have as far to drive.

Yes, in Detroit, you need to keep your eyes on your pop cans. I had a work-related meeting at the Archdiocese of Detroit on Michigan Avenue. Anyhow, I got there early, and had bought a drink. I put my 3/4 finished drink down for a second, got up, stretched and when I sat down again, the can was gone. It was funny. I was dumb enough to leave my purse on the bench and it didn't disappear.

BS. Pay when the bill arrives and this will never be a problem. If they do charge you a late fee (because they are crooked or because you were late that ONE time...) call them and say "take it off please" and they will. If they don't say "cancel please" then they will.

I owe you a meal or a drink. I have a US store credit card. A mail problem caused a delay. (Well, I was late mailing the envelope, the money order sat on my desk for 3 weeks). Anyhow, there was a $25 late fee. Considering the balance on the card was $50, it was excessive. I called, asked for it to be removed, and "Robert is one your parent's brothers" or something like that, the charge was reversed.

    Thanks!

The Queen of England or the Queen of Canada?

Although Queen of England and the Queen of Canada is the same person, the role of monach for both realms are independent and however unlikely, can be filled by different people.

For example, if Charles decides he wants to be a Roman Catholic, he would lose his ability to be King (Since the Monarch is the head of the Church of England [Anglican/Episcopalian])*, he/she cannot be of a different religion. Since Canada does not have a state religion, and a Charter of Rights that bars discrimination based on religion, it is possible. Canada could, if it wanted to, follow a different path than that of the UK.

Is it worth the government's time, effort and headache to do something as silly as this? No.
    ---
    * The Act of Settlement, 1701 (UK) bars a Roman Catholic from being King or Queen.

PS. I am not a lawyer, I don't want to be one. I won't recommend one either,

Why, who did you guys elect to be Queen?

They elected Tony Blair. Due to the nature of Westminster Style Parliaments, you essentially have an elected King (at least for five years). This leaves the hereditary Queen free to tour her realms and try not to appear bored meeting people in the hinterlands. A party can win a majority with 30-40% of the popular vote. With a strong party whip and a majority in the House of Commons the elected King can force Parliament to pass any legislation he wants. Also, during his reign, Parliament has either passed or planning legislation to reduce the power of the House of Lords. (Items that come to mind are devolution to Scotland & N. Ireland, removal of hereditary peers, creation of a Supreme Court [removal of Law Lords] etc). In addition, I am not sure how selection of candidates for individual ridings work, but I assume that a leader can keep individual MPs in line by refusing to allow them to run for the party in the next election if they dissent.

As much as I am not totally happy with the choice of the UK (it doesn't matter, my family left England), Mr Blair was the pick of the litter box.

I like the way things are in Ontario. Government-run liquor stores and brewery-run beer stores.

They have great selection and consistent pricing whether you are in downtown Toronto or Ottawa or some small northern town. Plus, by having the provincial government making piles 'o cash, it reduces our taxes. Ontario liquor and beer stores are clean and well organised with knowledgeable people working in them.

I realise that these organisations were created when Ontario was much more conservative and uptight place, but the net result is better than leaving it to the distributor cartels that seem to be operating in many US states. I am not sure if the LCBO ships.
