You know, you could make a really good diet for obese smokers.
Think about it, because the tomato contains nicotine, it could be used just like a patch, so you replace the cig's with salad, low calorie pasta etc. With a bit more research, you could likely graft a few more crop plants and you'd have a veriaty of vegetarian foods for which to make a good weight loss diet and help one kick the habit at the same time.
Plus, for once, the subject won't mind sticking to a vegitarial diet coz they'll get a mild kick out of it.
Isn't it the same with humans then? say you ask soemone, "So, what are you doing on the thirteenth?" How do you know they registered 13th and not 30th?
You know the other guy heard you wrong when he replies "I'm not doing anything on the thirtieth" Thats when you say "No, I ment the thirteenth, ONE THREE"
So, we can apply that to the PDA, where when you ask it what your appointments are for the 13th, it will read back to you in the following format:
"Your appointments for Friday, thirteenth of May 2003 are....."
in which case if it misherd you and said:
"Your appointments for Monday, Thirtieth of May 2003 are....."
You can just stop it and ask again, just like you would a real person.
IT costs money to do that. Right now, on parts alone, CD-ROM's are so cheap, theres basicly no margin in it.
Then theres that minor engineering programme you need to fund to work out how to apply that button to the unit. Then you have to work out the modification to the production line, sort out the suppliers etc.
With the declining number of CD-ROMs sold these days, i don't think it's justified.
Packet writing is a dumbassed idea anyway. I remember my dad lost his entire masters thisis and had to rewrite the whole thing because his laptop crashed and his backup was that CD which had a minor scratch which caused the entire packet file system to not load.
If he had written in ISO, all he would have been out of would have been a page, and not the whoel thisis.
Why execute people? We can just clone organs can't we? Heck we migth not even need to clone, seeing as how we can build certain parts from scaffold already.
So nip the problem at the bud. The entire problem is IE's fault after all. Replace it with Moz, disable pop ups and auto install and all and you'll see a dramatic decrese in spyware.
See, the iPod is made for serious audio listening, C750 for actual photography, GBA for dedicated mobile gaming and the iPaq for PIM apps.
Each of the devices you mentioned are made to excel in what they do. Where as this all in one thing is to make things easier.
It's like a swiss army knife. Sure, the knife sucks if you have a real sharp knife, a full tool kit or aone of thos hightech bottle openers, but why do peopel still buy that knife? Because it's compact and still serves a purpose when the whole shebang isn't around.
the english version maybe, but not in orginal Malay. Literally, 'Orang' means person and 'utan' is 'Hutan' which means jungle in Malay (or Indonesian, depending on which side of the region you're in, but it has the same origin.)
Orangutan is pronunced or-rung-u-tonne here, not or-rang-a-tang
What do you think the RIAA is doing? They mass market music on MTV and such to make it desirable, then they sell CD's at inflated prices at such a level that only those of a certain economic level with the disposable can buy them, maintaining exclusivity and thus ensuring "coolness".

I actualy like the old one better, It's more down to earth then the current one. I feel taht if soemone has a need to to find out which is the any key, they could use soem less complicated english. Plus, Press any key sounds better then Strike any key.
I can imagine then need to revisit this page again once those keyboards come in for replacement from over "striking".

So, note what it was actualy created on the 23rd of March 1999.
I also like the old one better, coz if anyone has the need to read this FAQ (other then for laughs) telling them to STRIKE any key isn't a good idea.
Eat a tomato leaf, potato leaf, or even the wrong parts of a potato and you can end up, very, very dead.
Really? Coz here in Malaysia where I am, we've been frying up potato leaves in shrimp paste and chillie and it's absolutely delicious.

It won't work.

You must be new here too. Can't you see by the formatting that the address is for a news group?

Moral of lesson, DON'T USE PACKET WRITING!

You mean siteseeing ?
Really, they make us use Macs in college, and it sucks. Big time. Mac OS (9-X)crashes like it's nobodys business, it's about as bad as WinME.
I used to think Macs were good, but after using them, i sware i'll never buy a Mac. Ever.
Is it just me or did we just slashdot tom? I can't seem to load pages beyond the intro.
The worlds most Anal keys. Power, Wake and Sleep. Espacially the ones that are placed where Pause, SysRq and Scroll are supposed to me.
If you think your game minimising when you press WindowsKey is bad, wait till you think you pressed "pause' and your system shuts down.

Not true.

Microsoft can pay all of the money in the world and still not (and won't) buy that kind of following.
I dunno about a "cool" following, but their money can sure buy a following none the less. How else do you explain their legion of MCSEs?
(Place: Matrix Core, Time:Time? There is no time.)
Neo: "Trinity, you hack in, I'll keep Agent Smith busy. How much time you need?"
(Wack! Wack! Pow!)
Trinity: (Looks at Micro$oft Windoze(TM) login prompt) "We're in."
Don't stop there. Put bleech in the pulp then set the pulp in wire mesh squares and leave it out to dry and you'll have good home made recycled paper.
Honest
I agree. Some adverts are just downright fun to watch..
Too bad the good stuff is banned in my country. (Malaysia)
