    No, incrementing 0111 1111 1111 1111 (32767) would yield 1000 0000 0000 0000 which is -32768 in decimal. Assuming two's complement, which has no negative zero, of course.

    Lots of people are doing that right now, and you could learn a lot from the included compilers for different languages, all in varying stages of completion.

    Are you sure you're not drunk?

    Seriously though, don't "kill -9" anything without reason, and especially do not "killall" a common utility like "cat" which might be running invoked from another process at any time.

    You're missing the fact that Wine(X) Is Not an Emulator. Doom3 under Wine(X) runs directly on the hardware.

    According to http://tnx.nl/php there are 3079 core functions in PHP4 (as of november 2003), compared to 206 in perl.

    Solved it by recompiling and adding "-lvorbis" after "-lvorbisfile" to the linker flags in linux/Makefile.

    libvorbis is installed, version 1.0, and so is libvorbisfile. I'll compile from source, but i'd like to know what isn't working.
    $ strings /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.3|grep vorbis_info_init

    According to "man mount", "iocharset" is an option available to filesystems (v)fat, iso9660, and ntfs only. It's also available for smbfs.

    "Ms" includes both "Miss" and "Mrs", and is applicable regardless of marital status, although courtesy requires that you respect someones wish to be addressed as either "Miss" or "Mrs".

    Many operating systems do thing there "own way". Just because Windows does the same doesn't mean its some nonstandard mess. Windows like it or not is in fact the "standard" for operating systems.

    So really if you can't figure out the Windows way then your out of touch with what the majority think of as the one true operating system. Also its a lot more likely that most people would know how to configure Windows than a minority OS like Linux.

    I'm not playing favorites here, that's just how it is and only someone in total denial would argue against Windows popularity.

    If it makes you feel better you may now say some stuff about how Windows is bloated or something.

    The AIs Leela (crew-relations/security AI) and Tycho (science/engineering AI) both tried to stop the "rampant" AI Durandal (controls autonomous functions, like doors, life support, kitchens, air reprocessors, and stairs) from ... well, i don't want to ruin it for you.

    "the more they sell, the more they lose"? What kind of mathematics is that? That'd only be true if they were giving you money along with the X-Box.

    How about "the less they sell, the more they lose"? Microsoft losing $400 per X-Box sounds like a far better deal than Microsoft losing $200 per X-Box.
