    On the original N-Gage the microphone/speaker were positioned on the side of the device so you had to put the phon^H^H^H^H thing on its side to talk.

    Serial ATA will not be able to compete with SCSI in the server market until implementations of native command queueing are complete. Are far as I know, none of the current SATA drives on the market currently support NCQ.

    Sound needs a physical medium to propagate. Since the sensors and the probe are all attached together physically, the vibrations can travel across the probe to the sensors. However, of course, if you were standing next to it you couldn't hear anything.

    Lighter and smaller? Please. A microstrip array such as this only weights a few ounces and is easily built using a conventional circuit board. Also, the electrical phase and hence the 2 angles of the beam can easily be manipulated with a simple phase shifting circuit.

    By the way, you can pretty much get the beamwidth as tight as you want by adding more array elements, I think 10 or so elements will give you back lobes of -40dB or 1% of the main beam.

    Microstrip phased arrays are the way to go, they are cheaper and can provide whatever directivity and beamwidth is needed.

    That is the root of the problem. You have to download the libraries and get them working which requires you to enter commands in a terminal. Do you think the average user wants to do this? I would go further and say that it makes gnome/kde seem not ready for prime time to the majority of windows users.

    Do these accelerated services really deliver as advertized? I can seem them compressing text/html but what about images and other compressed files? There is no way they are going to get any noticable improvement in speed with 95% of the bits downloaded.

    Do they have some sort of caching service or is this just hype?

    "Crabb agreed with Microsoft's argument that XML-based Smart Tags operate differently from Hyperphrase's methods and therefore aren't covered by the patents."

    When this issue originally came up many people were hoping that Microsoft might argue against the legality of software patents in general. They completely side stepped the issue. What's going to happen when Ogg gets sued by Fraunhofer and company?
