    It is much easier to imagine this product when you realize that China is still building its infrastructure and can do dang near anything it wants at this stage because the institutional inertia isn't present like it is in the rest of the developed world.

    Count me as another banner add for magnatune. If more classical ensambles would distribute through them they would add to the great momentum Magnatune already has, and would likely get more money than any other electronic distribution method given the very generous terms Magnatune gives its artists. Ensambles could also still sell CDs at their concerts and maintain old recording contracts (provided the old company contracts aren't insistent on exclusivity).

    I am sure this would be possible too. Since if you are looking at a page of google search results they can easily check the distance + time quality vs whatever you eventually click on to see if you move your mouse away from what you eventually click on... or more your mouse close to what you eventually click on.

    Then they can just set that correlation coefficient in a cookie / server side property of your google account and use it to modify the search behavior appropriately.

    I doubt that this sort of vehicle flys in low altitude. IT is probably a high altitude flyer (greater sunlight absorption, more stable air currents).

    But it takes a while for the body temp to jump up for decomposition after the initial temp dip back to room temperature. Probably days.

    You haven't used win7 have you? 2GB is a min just to not get frustrated with the boot process. Then there is the stupid UI enabled by default that sucks up effects like made, almost making hardware graphics cards mandatory.

    I paid $10 because that is what I paid for Fantastic Contraption, and it was an easy price point above the average (so I could feel smug) but not too much (because I still had to save the remaining $40 in my monthly "fun" budget for my RunesOfMagic addiction).

    Like every quarter. And you have to pay both sides of the tax equation, employer and employee. Figure on loosing 25% to taxes at a minimum. Probably more like 30%.

    Which is why the tax law is hideously complicated; to allow for deductions to help offset their own crushing red tape requirements. It helps a little, but I quit my biz for the regulation reqs (and a down economy).

    it is called polluting the evidence. if an officer performs a random strip search on you with no P.C. and finds drugs in a baggie, the prosecution of said drug possession offense and any conviction arising from it are polluted by the initial illegal search. That chain of evidence is polluted. This is what the 4th Amendment to the US Constitution is there to protect.

    Yes, that is called unauthorized access. Just because you know of a server's patch level, does not mean you can root it using a known exploit for the lulz. Or for profit. Or for altruistic reasons.

    All are still illegal.

    (not) Glad to see IBM catching up to where Hewlett-Packard started going 10yrs ago. I've contracted here off and on since 98, and I see the same faces all time time. But more and more of them are contractors and not "real" employees.

    Don't attribute to mallace that which can more easily be attributed to stupidity and ignorance.

    I married a teacher. I am good friends with 4 other teachers. By and large, they all wouldn't know dick about computers if it weren't for the husbands and friends that are computer geeks.

    It simply isn't something they need to know about. They have enough problems keeping up with the crazy kids on meds, let alone trying to figure out the finer points of "free as in beer vs free as in speech"

    Though this teacher does sound a bit more stupid than the norm.
