I always found the weakest part of the iPhones interface to be the lack of the Magical Pony to ride around while you laugh at the poor fools stuck with lesser phones.
If the/. staff is going to continue posting Dvorak articles regarding Apple as if they have any value, can my Batboy links please be accepted for the science category?
I mean if you're going to post bullocks like this in one category it's only fair to accept them in all categories!
Dvorak is a hack who shovels his ridiculous sh!t at our eyeballs to sell ads for his employers, particularly when Apple is involved. You might as well post Batboy articles as hard news in the science section, Taco.
I think that visually it's stunning, in the same way I found DS9 beautiful: It portrays technology without an overabundance of overly shiny things. Things that almost look real, a nice turn from the bright and shiny (for the 30 minutes of each episode it wasn't shot to hell) Voyager, and an interesting contradiction to the apparent technological backwardness of TOS. (Which I've been able to explain away. The TOS takes place during a time in when the humans, confident in the toys it's been playing with for the last 150 years can manage themselves, allow for more computer control than at any other time depicted. Of course, they turned back towards more fine control placed back in the hands of the crew after a period of time...)
It is true that FSF withdraw[1] ispell 4.0 as soon as ispell 3.x was released under a free software license. I think that makes it pretty clear that the action was in defence for free software, not an attempt to increase their control.
Doesn't the fact that they withdrew 4.0 as soon as 3.x was released makes it about nothing BUT control? RMS/FSF wanted ispell (a popular program!) released under a license that pleases them because of vanity and control. When the current author of the program doesn't go along easily, they come out with their own incompatible version.

Christ, I'm so sorry. I don't know what overcame me. Oh yeah, the character Sarge gives me wood. that's what it was. Bad TV show, bad acting, nice abs. Now it's cancelled. I hope. It disappeared off local TV like an indicted infomercial king.
I've seen some smaller artists do this before, but can Public Enemy really be considered a *big* artist anymore? They've been marginalized (by themselves, mostly) into a tiny corner of rhetoric and insequence.
Just curious. My cable provider upgraded it's adapters several times in the first year of service threatening huge charges if the old hardware wasn't returned. When I went to the office to turn it in and asked what was happening to my old adapter they said "Oh, it will be destroyed."
Why were they going to charge me $300 for something that's essentially garbage?
"Every system expands and encroaches on other spheres of influence until it creates sufficient opposition." -- RA Wilson (somewhere in Schrodinger's Cat)
To Katz and those who say M$ is an unstoppable monster: If you don't think the Open Source movement is enough opposition, wait. It will grow or another ally against M$ will join the fray.
To those who say Katz is an overreacting loon: Maybe, but no one says the opposition has to be sane.
No one honestly expects any microsoft product to be secure. It's the virus attacks that wipe out your system that keep it running so well, since we all know that after 6 months all versions of windows need to be re-installed or they stop running correctly.
Dianetics does quite well at book stores too, year after year. I'm told by one of my friends who used to work at a book store that they'd recieve supposedly 'new' copies of it with sales receipts inside them. A clam would buy the book, then return it to the hive (or whatever they call it, i'm not fond of cults) which would then sell the book again.
Thankfully, eFront never approached me, but another network that though buying up/partnering with lame blog sites such as mine was a good idea did early in the life cycle of my site.
The concessions they wanted in order to provide me with a trickle they called 'revenue' were unbelievable.
Do you love your site and care about it not becoming something you can't control or can't control? Don't sell out. It's as simple as that. If the hosting gets out of control, do what you can to provide an income source, but don't sell out.
The entire advertising revenue model is fairly flawed right now anyway, as sites who partnered or sold their sites to networks such as eFront found out.

Now I know what those motherfuckers are buying with all the jobs they're stealing!

Good to see Magrathea is back in business! Lime-jello world populated by horny amazons, here I come!
A bunch of bloggers have similar stories to tell, the Newly Digital meme made the rounds for a while starting in June.
I told you to stop messing with the opacity on my applications! How can I see my pr0n wallpaper if Sky 3.0's opacity is 90%? HUH?
The 'editor' of S6 questions the validity.
Happy Halloween hoax?

Extend and embrace, Chairman RMS style.

Finally! I've finally been trolled! Gentleman, today I am a man.
No, you ninny. You know zilch about me or the music I listen to. Now go sniff some airplane glue, you're bugging me kid.

Both. Neither. It doesn't matter. I think we should get Katz and Gates in a street brawl on PPV and settle this once and for all.
Or something.
Attn moderators: Moderate this to -1, Troll please.

Good job making AOL keep it's protocol open!
