Granted I have a thing for anime, but I do not think buying a dvd every few months is what's killing me. I don't have debt, unless you consider a $200 credit card which i may put.. $50 on a month, debt. I just have bills that are a pain in the ass to meet. Living where I am is not cheap, and moving to lesser expensive area would require finding a new job or driving an extra 2 hours. So, I'm stuck at the moment. Though I am putting away a good chunk of cash a month. No I do not have a portfolio, I don't know enough about the market to get involved, yet can't afford to higher someone to do it for me that I'd trust to not f me over.:) As for two jobs not being healthy, well hell nothing is healthy anymore according to medical studies. Finally, having two jobs can be considered a bragging point. How can I have two jobs and others have none? Why is it sad that I work two jobs? Because I want to have extra money it's sad? Tell ya what, you drive an hour and half one way to a job, pay for the gas, insurance, maintence (even though I do most of my own work on the car), pay rent, utilities, food, etc. On a semi-alright pay scale and try to save some $$ for emergencies on top of it.:) From what I have seen, most people are just too damned lazy, they apply to a few places.. get turned down because they don't have what the place is looking for, or ARE way over-experienced for the job, then sit and collect welfare/unemployment/whatever for a year or two, repeat. Of course, I happen to live in an area that's becoming more and more like NYC each year so... *shrug*
Well I believe we're staring down WWIII so yes, I would say there's going to be a hell of a mobolization. Of course, economy won't matter much when we're all dead.:) Now, when I hear people quit bitching about the economy and how hard it is to find a job.. and try to FIND a job, it might turn around. Hell if I can hold a fulltime job AND a part-time one, you can't tell me the economy is THAT bad off.
Really wonder how we got out of the ahem 'Great Depression' then. Seeing as how getting involved in WW2 sort of raised alot of cash and created jobs. War is good for the economy, we haven't had one in a while (Gulf War doesn't count, too short), which is why we are were we are.

It's too bad that most countries who hate us also are the ones that come crying to us for help whenever they need bailing out of whatever stupid ass situation they get themselves planted in.
I personally believe we should just start destroying the Middle East systematically.. find out who did it on the way. People have a better habit of talking when your running over their tinshack village with a tank. The only thing the Middle East is good for anyway is oil exportation.
But, on the other hand, I believe we should also remove our military presence from all these countries we're trying to 'help', including Israel.. let them fight alone and see how long they last.:)
ISA has no quite left the box yet. Granted, you no longer see any ISA slots on the newer motherboards, but a lot of periphrails still run on the bus. (Check your BIOS, you still see options in there don't you).. PS/2, the serial and parallel ports, ye ole school keyboard (AT-style) port, I think even USB?
Maybe with this new PCI 3, ISA will get phased into non-existence, and old PCI will take it's place. No wonder computers are still only jumping to higher speeds at a slow rate... getting the timing right so the ISA bus can still work correctly is um... not fun. (for those of you who've had problems overclocking, but couldn't figure out why... excluding heat problems... this might be the culprit.)

because currently, the north and southbridge communicate with each other through PCI/PCI-X. (correct me if I'm wrong here guys)..
HyperTransport is specifically designed to be the communications bus between the two chipsets, not to replace PCI for adapter cards, etc. All those devices would still talk to the chipsets through PCI, but all the 'internal' stuff would happen through HT, making the system reponse much faster since the bus isn't being choked off by some PCI card that needs the bandwith.:)
