    There's no problem with having a lot of ads. People who don't like it will use adblock.

    The key problem with sites like Tucows was the deliberate deception. There's a huge difference between advertising a product or service that might be relevant to the user and trying to make people click on an ad by tricking them. Having 16 buttons that pretend to be the download button is just stupid. I don't understand what advertiser would pay for that, unless they're also shonks.

    Then of course the question is did they smoke heavily because of a mental predisposition to illness or was the smoking the cause. Not easy to unravel.

    Aircraft registrations are publicly available. In my country I can download an Access database with every aircraft in the country in it. They seem to have just taken the same rules that apply to aircraft registrations for drones. If this is to be different for drones, new legislation or regulations will be required.

    I'd be quite interested to see how the combination of real world controls and the VR headset works in practice. How do you align their position in the sim to the position you have to reach with your hands.

    I don't want a phone I can use underwater. I want a phone that will be fine if I accidentally drop it in water, get pushed into a swimming pool or get drenched in a rainstorm. As long as the common accidents are survivable, I'll be happy.

    I Imagine the probe also only would have a limit range of zoom and would be optimised for shots during the flyby, not from far far away.

    It's the Cupola. Basically a dome full of windows.

    There's no real command module or "ops" if you like DS9. Control is distributed.

    I have the professional style of anaglyph glasses like NASA guys tend to use. I still have a lot of trouble making the images combine. Particularly the ones where there is a lot of seperation and thereby a lot of depth. Other ones with less depth and seperation work really well for me.

    As I understand it, the deep divers used a cable to lower their decompression tanks to the bottom, and perhaps themselves too. The guy that died there was pulled up on such a cable. Therefore wouldn't they have already known how deep the sinkhole was? Thanks,

    I used to subscribe to a station called Makradio, which had 4 channels of great music. I was happy with it, bu t then they decided to drop my favourite channel, so I cancelled my membership. They can't expect to keep customers if they don't keep the channels people want to hear.

    Ok. Try all the information in Sutton's Rocket Propulsion Elements. Sure most of the general information is available on the net, but I found it impossible to find that information for free on the internet.

    I don't use libraries much though, because at least the public ones around here have absolutely no deep technical books, only glorified kid's books i.e. "My first book on Rockets". I just buy the aerospace books recommended by others from Amazon.

    I use a program called flashkard for KDE, but my biggest gripe is not being able to find many prebuilt datasets. It can get tedious making thousands of your own ones. I'd buy well put together sets of datafiles, but not the programs to display them...

    I sort of agree. Local loop telephone cables are really a monopoly, and no company should be allowed to have a monopoly on a market. You're not going to have 5 companies put in their own telephone cables. So have basic infrastructure owned the government, and they can resell it at a reasonable rate to the companies who can then provide service to the customers. Same with power. Actually power is an even greater example of where this model is better, especially if nuclear power comes into the equation. Not everything should be required to make a profit, just not make a loss.

    This is similiar technology, and quite a bit simpler to build. It can be basically just a big bucket with a tapered bottom to allow removal of pebbles. Cut of the water supply the temperature increases, the pebbles seperate due to heat expansion and the reaction slows down and comes to the equilibrium temperature which is set at the design time.
