The head of the comedy department didn't fly off the handle saying we're suing the kid. The police didn't show up at his door to take them away in hand cuffs. There response was "Everyone does dumb stuff when they're 15." What happened to that attitude in America?

As someone who has their school at the competition, and I'm on the programming team (though my team didn't make it this year). Those are the scores as of one hour left in the competition.

They don't update the scores during the last hour to keep suspence for the awards ceremony. So this isn't really news at all, and the post is going to be meaningless as soon as they update the standings. I'm expecting them to be posted soon though as I think the awards ceremony ended recently.

  9. Re:I love the power glove... on Nintendo Revolution Controller Revealed · · Score: 1

I'm pretty sure this works how something I saw recently does....

It's like an electronic compass. It calculates the directions and everything it's pointing, which direction it's rolling. stuff like that. It's a really cool technology. It should be able to tell north, south, east, west, if it's pointing down or up, and if it's rolling from side to side. Some cool stuff can be done here.

Having that said... Nintendo Revolution was going to be the first next gen system I was going to purchase, and my decision remains.

I don't know what schools you're talking about but certainly not an acreditted university. I'm currently a college student, and my courses have made me well versed in C and Java with touches of 2 assembly languages. We're also getting experience with Lisp and Prolog. Not even taught web scripting at all. Maybe some community college is doing that, or a trade school, but if you're a CS major at a university i'd find that hard to believe.

  15. Re:Official US number is 7.2% on Current Unemployment Rate in the IT Industry? · · Score: 1

this doesn't take into account the people that left the field though. So if an information person lost their job, but then start working in a different field they won't be counted as unemployed for the information section. Then there are also people that get too old for work. They also don't count as unemployeed if you stop looking for a job. Basically, that statistic is pretty much worthless. sorry to disappoint you.

Yea, i know what you mean.

I have a hard time finding music that i like as i have odd tastes. I listen to mostly foreign music. I know walmart.com will have a spanish section, but what about a japanese and german section? I wouldn't mind paying for the songs, but there isn't a pay service that has them. I heard something about a P2P service that you pay to download from. Maybe that's the answer for me. You get credit for sharing songs, or something like that.

Well, maybe one day my time will come, until then i get to pay $30 for a japanese CD.

Man, I wish people would stop saying this. Were you really pissed off when you went and saw the Neverending Story and then it ended?

It's getting a little rediculous though. I think they should make a parody game that would be fun for fans of the series, and let that take off. I think Beginning Reality would be a fitting name. That's something I'd like to see, if only a fan service. The number of sequals is getting a little rediculous in my opinion. Maybe they're too lazy to come up with a new name every other year?
