You know, I purchased one of these made by Kensington a few years ago for $0.75 at a retail store (not a garage sale), new in the box. Only because I thought it was the most ridiculous mouse I have ever seen.
I had forgot all about it until I read your post..... I'm going to have to go look for it and hook it up for a good laugh
Intel used to do something similar with the Celeron series... they were just chips where some of the cache didn't work on. It was caught during manufacturing/QA and deemed a lower grade. Maybe the manufacturing process has reached a point where there are much fewer 'duds'.
I have no problem with a hardware company selling lower-grade hardware for a discounted price.
I do have a problem with a company selling a piece of hardware that is intentionally down-graded. The cost of manufacture is equal to it's counterpart.... both should be equally expensive/cheap.
If, recent, history tells us anything..... anything that is "social" that corporations jump on board with, will die a horrible fate.
Think SecondLife... MySpace.... Facebook (it's going that way)....
Twitter has been corporation-ized from (nearly) the start and will die a slow painful death. It's like getting junk mail in your mailbox..... it just pisses you off.
2) your typical nerd male is going to be harder to talk into doing risky behavior such as hang gliding or whatever, because he'll be too busy worrying about the elevated risk of death, subconsciously due to the fact that he more than likely hasn't reproduced yet, and therefor would lose evolution.
No, I am afraid of hang gliding because of physics class.... has nothing to do with reproducing, which I have.
On the bright side... my daughter is too young to have taken physics, so she drags me on roller-coasters all the time:)
I just finished watching all the available episodes of Defying Gravity (legally through the Space Channel website).
Honestly, when it first came out and I saw the commercials for it... it looked quite lame. After watching the first episode, however, I was hooked. I thought the presentation of the show was great and the premise was quite original and intriguing. I also like Ron Livingston as an actor which was the main reason that made me watch the first episode. It's very disappointing really, it would be like all of the people that were enjoying Lost during the first season and wondering: "what will happen next?". Then it being canceled.
I was going to read the article quoting the CEO of Crytek (the creators of Crysis 2) but it seems that my computer and video card aren't fast enough to view it.........
What does this have to do with them stopping development on an open source driver?
They will still provide their closed source driver which is better for a "high-end gaming environment" anyway (as long as you have no issues with your entire system not being 100% free/beer/etc).
What's worse, after his Mom reads the e-mail, she'll probably kick him out of the basement!
Eh-men my fellow Canadian!
(couldn't resist)
Wow... it's bee a long time since I've been moded redundant because, if I remember correctly, the last time I was moded redundant was a long time ago.
Isn't that kind of like getting mad at Sears for trying to sell you a Kenmore (their own brand) appliance before offering you an LG?
There's much more profit in pushing your own products.
Pfffft.... that's nothing... they've had servers running in walls for years now :)

I'm just a little skeptical....
If it were really a primer for geeks it would have started at Episode IV

Just a tad North of Kingston, but here too.... obviously.

Sooo.... the devil is left handed then, since the right can do no evil?
Good to know :)
You should probably blog about that, I bet you'd get a lot of tweets supporting your point of view!
why did they bother with 3TB? Should the next step be 4TB? We are counting in binary are we not?
Ok.... then lets call it an 11TB drive then and the next one can be an 100TB drive :)
That's my birthday you insensitive clod!

I'm here all week!
No, no, no..... you have it all wrong!
The dime goes on your computer chair!
Troll +/- 0.0
and
Flamebait +/- 0.0
There really is no margin of error there.
After's Discovery's Launch, What's Left For the Shuttle?
My guess is that the shuttle is probably going to go look for its precious's
(sorry.... couldn't resist)
True, but passenger fatalities will be reduced.... they said nothing about pedestrian fatalities.
As much as their conclusion makes sense for their premise.... they're not looking at the entire picture.

We’ve mainly pursued the active approach and have produced lenses that can accommodate an 8-by-8 array of LEDs.
So.... for the lay-person..... you're saying that the rabbits can now play Mario?
The big question is.... will tinfoil stop them?!?!
No, it's actually DownLoadable Content.
