microsoft is boiling mad about three opensource projects. expect them to be targets of (frivolous, sco-style) lawsuits. in order to protect shareholder value, microsoft will be compelled to litigate them into oblivion.
utah dust particles didnt impact the collectors at several km/s.
if that had actually happened, the probe would have been completely vaporized, there would have been a crater a hundred meters wide instead of a few meters. instead of the probe going 'crunch' as it did, there would have been a huge explosion, blast wave, and lots of dead bystanders.
the collector was sealed, and only broke open after the probe hit the ground at only 200km/h instead of several km/s.
so there's no problem after all.
+1 insightful? methinks some/. readers need to go back and study basic gradeschool physics.
should be easy to tell the difference between solar wind particles which impacted the collectors at several km/s vs dust particles which simply settled on the surface.
engineers often design for worst case scenarios, especially with space probes.
i wouldnt be suprised if they engineered the probe in such a way that even in catastrophic failure (eg lawn dart) there would still be a good chance of viable data.
ozone destroys electronics. it will destroy the rubber in the electrolytic capacitors and other components and render your electronics totally useless.
...does not appear to be for its artistic or stylistic values.
a friend of mine, a director at AIC repeatedly laments: "We are soooooo cheap!".
budgets for anime are very low, animation companies are often in dire financial situations. CG is a way to reduce production costs, not necessarily produce better quality animation or better overall product.
I really don't want the SS breaking down my door and seizing all the computers (and then I have to sue the state and wait a few years to get my stuff back maybe) because some clerk at HQ typed in the wrong address.
if you were sending viagra spams, nigerian investment emails, or phishing scams, then you certainly deserve the SS breaking down your door and seizing your computers. and don't expect them back, ever.
near-100% of spams are the above. theres so little legitimate marketing emails that they're lost in the noise.
without law enforcment and seizures, there wont be a noticeable improvement. the only thing spammers understand is the bottom line, we have to make it painful and expensive to spam.
the issue with XFS is it didnt mesh nicely with the existing VFS. XFS was a lot of SGI kernel code running on linux through a specially written translation layer, and it was very buggy for a long time.

i can't find any such fbi report. since you made the claim, and the burden of evidence lies on the claimiant, you should provide a source.

no... they're wave soldered. that means putting the board and components in a bath of solder.
the other way is putting conductive paste on the components then baking the whole thing.
they aren't ultrasonically soldered.
Ozone _destroys_ rubber.
This means all the electrolytic capacitors on your electronics will be toast, at the very least.

because there's no money in it.
police are all hot to bust drug crimes because they can confiscate and sell the perp's property.
i think applying forfeiture laws to spammers would get law enforcement much more interested in cracking down on spammers.
probably due to the DOJ arrests.
...that microsoft sql server is sybase (albeit 1993 codebase)

...is a solution in search of a problem?
...java failed miserably.
...can it run linux?
I do it a dozen times on the weekend
so do tell us about the dozen spacecraft you did this weekend which survived reentry and landed safely
NASA is the only one having reentry problems these days? are you absolutely sure ?
...don't ya know?
not to mention the 3000F reentry and 30g deceleration.

what a twat.
i mean really, if you don't want the money, then take it and give it to charity .
