Agreed! I have no interest in anything like Sling TV. I much prefer the Netflix/Hulu model of watching what I watch when I want, and don't give a bleep what "channel" it came from.
The last time I tried the local news on their website, it crashed 3 times! That (other than my natural laziness) is the main thing that keeps me from dumping Spectrum-Warner TV.
Some people just want to dump 98% of the programming but watch Game of Thrones. Sure you can get it for $15/mo in the US but now everyone is in the US. What about them? Personally, I want to watch the shows I want to watch. I'm not happy with most of what is on Netflix, especially if I can only watch old seasons of shows.
Hulu has a lot of current shows, a day late. Unless your favorites are on CBS or CW (my problem).
Very true! I haven't cut the cord yet, partly from inertia, partly because I watch shows that aren't on Netflix or Hulu. But there's more than enough that IS on one or both to keep me watching during my TV time. I've still got a bleepload of stuff on each that I haven't had time to watch, without even looking for anything else.
When I get home after 11 hours work + commute, I don't want a worthwhile use of time. I want to flop in my chair. Maybe I watch Fox News and yell at the host. Maybe I futz around online. Or, maybe I watch *gasp* a TV show.
I do think I'll eventually cut the cord. I'm not many price-increases away from deciding the shows I can't get on Netflix or Hulu aren't worth the price of Time-Spectrum. Besides, it works both ways. There's a lot of shows on the streaming services that aren't currently on regular TV.
Yup! As I see it, if/when I do finally dump cable, I'll lose some stuff, but there will still be plenty of stuff on Netflix and Hulu, and the combined cost will be much less than cable.
A missing stop sign can be a problem for humans. OTOH, a speed sign that appears to say 85, isn't a problem for any sane human (nobody would think 85 was an acceptable speed for a city street with businesses, pedestrians, and traffic lights).
Right now, I have Netflix and Hulu (ad-free). Technically, I also have Amazon, but I've never watched anything on it, mainly because I have a big backlog of stuff on the others that I haven't watched yet, and if I keep it, it won't be because of the streaming.
For Disney to get my eyeballs, it would have to beat two established competitors on content (for someone who doesn't have kids), price (when both are pretty cheap), or both, and I can't see that happening. And, no, I'm not going to have 12 streaming services for the price I pay for cable.:p
Exactly! I've had issues with one of my cow-orkers. Guess what, I still worked with her. I might talk with my boss if necessary, but unless he assigned one of us to a different project, we had to work with each other.
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west... those little signs with numbers are the mile markers (at least in the US) and they are also the exit numbers...
A lot of the time, you can't see the sun through the clouds.
I'm old enough that I have used maps. Reading them is the easy part. the hard part is getting the !@#$ things folded up and put back in the glove box. Nobody I knew ever managed to do that right!
Awhile back, a friend was trying to find some place he'd been as a kid. Naturally, he consulted his GPS, and we hadn't even gotten on the highway before it steered us wrong. We got on the highway, and got in the right area, but then it kept steering us one way, then told us we were going the wrong way! We found the right place only because my friend thought something looked familiar and turned on the right street. The GPS never did get it right.

Damn, I wish I hadn't blown my mod points!

If, for example, your sensors can't detect a white truck on a cloudy day, no software is going to be good enough.
I've had the same landline number since I moved out of my mom's basement in 1989. My address has changed, but my phone hasn't.
It's my theory that there is intelligent life out there. They just have no interest in the likes of us.
Yes, and they all speak English. Based on the best sources. Television!
Apparently, judging by all those droppings on my car.
The thought of that makes me say "Aug! Aug! Aug!"
But nobody with a sane mind will drive in those conditions...
I can imagine some pretty heavy traffic around here. :P

I've seen that! One of the signs in my area says 85. I don't think any human actually thinks that road IS 85, even if some of them try to drive that.

Disney in an uproar as piracy soars. Demands Congress increases copyright protection to life of the universe + 100 years.
I thought that was a decrease!

So all Google employees either have identical biology or it's impossible for biological factors to influence work performance at Google.
Clones! Clearly, they're clones.

Writer's strike? What are you talking about? This is prime movie stuff! It's as good as it gets!
Yeah, that depresses me too. :(
But, but, MA is deplorable!
