For 99.9% of it is just noise. However in an emergency situation it's an easy way to disperse information.
It's also the fastest way to disperse misinformation. I don't know about teh Twit, but in an emergency, 90+% of what's on the regular news is unreliable. They just don't have the information yet. In a day or two, it's settled down and more real info becomes known, but if we have to wait for correct news anyway, what use is Twitter?
Why do I need Twitter? If I want to see Trump tweets, I just have to wait until the MSM reports on them later in the day, and talks about how stupid they are ad-nauseum.
That's pretty much where I'm at. There's always something that drives me back to Windows. My most recent attempt had serious problems with dual-booting, plus I wasn't happy with Libre Office. I could fix the first by getting a dedicated Linux-only box, but I'd still have the other problem.
Once, I was working on a system that had restrictive password rules, and didn't state what those rules were. I kept getting "invalid password" when I tried to change it. The one it finally accepted was not anything I'd want to state in polite company, or even impolite company.
Yeah, and I'd consider a 10K phone in the same category as a 10K watch. As long as they sell stuff that a mere mortal like me can buy, I don't care if they have stuff for those with more money than brains.
I have an iWatch. It didn't cost 10K. I don't care if Apple releases a 10K phone. I won't buy it. I will buy an iPhone 7 at a price that doesn't choke a hippopotamus. Or, an iPhone 6 at a price that doesn't choke a horse. Or, if I have to, switch ecosystems and get an Android.
OTOH, I don't like the way regular TV releases a few weeks, waits a couple of months in the winter, releases a few more, takes a spring break, then releases a few more and quits for the summer.
On regular TV, if I know that a show isn't a "hit", I'm less likely to try it because TPTB will probably cancel it in the middle, leaving me pissed off. That probably wouldn't apply to the NF originals, since they release a whole season at a time.
Not to mention an air-conditioned office beats an uncooled home.
Err...why would you not have A/C in your home?
My previous house didn't have central A/C. The 100 y/o furnace wasn't compatible with it, and it would have cost big $$$$ to rip it out and replace with something newer.
OTOH, lack of A/C is a significant reason that that house is "previous".
As long as I use my bank's ATMs, I don't get charged. I try to avoid using other ATM for just that reason. And whatever you do, don't use another bank's ATM at a casino. I lost more at the damn ATM than I did at the slot machines!
when they can teleport electrons, protons, and neutrons. Preferably a 200 pound mass of them that happens to be in the shape of a man. Until then, yawn.
I had a brief glitch this weekend with Office 365. I started up Excel and it erroneously thought my subscription had expired (it hadn't). A reboot cleared it up, and if it hadn't I could have used my backup on Google Docs. However, it would have been much harder if it had happened to the whole OS. Having the whole computer unusable because of a subscription glitch, or even because I really am short this month, is unacceptable.
You do know that those breaks are good times to go to the bathroom, wash the dishes, make the bed, start a load of laundry, etc.
The problem is, you can do all the above, and the commercial break hasn't ended yet!
I don't even like seeing them clothed, forget about nekkid!
The new ad blocker inside Chrome won't block every ad you see on the web -- instead, it'll only block ads that are considered intrusive
Um, that IS every ad.

Why would they have ads for my Time and Attendance system? Oh, you meant THAT T&A! Never mind.

Updates are a big reason I stick with IOS.

Reverse the polarity on the laptop. That always works.
But, is naming a language after oxidized iron any worse than naming a language after a grade, and a mediocre one at that?
^This!!! I tried 3 of those, and I thought they were good, until they got axed right in the middle! That's one thing that soured me on network TV.

I use my current PC far more than my tablet. I just don't need a new PC. My current machine is fine.
Heck, I'll probably go extinct in a few decades!
If we can't even get to Mars, how will we ever explore Uranus?
How many of those climate changes were caused by humans?
Interesting. I'm an experienced farter, but I've never managed to make my farts sound like "Alexa".
