    Yeah, but Rome also got fat and lazy and cared more about entertainment than keeping an eye on their leaders. That could never happen here.

    In the 1960's, we were the greatest country in the world, with power & resources to burn.

    In 2005, we're just a dying country. Our tech is from Asia, our grunt work from Mexico, and after 4 years of preparing for emergencies, we totally botch the first natural disaster that comes along. Sorry about the flames, but the fact that we CAN'T do what we did 40 years ago pisses me off! :(

    Gore/Kerry were NEVER part of the solution. And Bush is only a small part of the problem, or do you think Bin Laden just decided to fly planes into our buildings after Bush was elected? We have to get rid of politicians on BOTH sides. The Democrats are just as evil and anti-freedom as the Republicans. FWIW, I voted Badnarik in 2004.

    But, in some cases, you might be fighting for your life, and in that case you'll do whatever is neccesary. And many aggressors are NOT reasonable. If you are attacked by an UNreasonable aggressor, you might not have the luxury to worry about future enemies; you just want to beat the current one.

    American soldiers were not terrorists. They engaged in guerilla warfare, but they did not kill innocent British civilians. There is a difference.

    My system keeps track of the last 12 passwords. I can't change back to what I was using yesterday. I just use $DUMBPASSWORD12 (or whatever number I'm on).

    I don't compare the deaths by terrorist to gun deaths or traffic accidents. I'd rather compare them with deaths from governments that DID become too powerful and tyrannical. How many millions did Stalin kill? I'd people to think about THAT when our "leaders" talk about us surrendering our freedoms!

    Then when he asks why I did it, I can tell him that I consider one of the essential characteristics that motivates my desire to see laws protecting my fellow man is that we are all in this together and that we have a social responsibility to each other, but that because of his political views he is not a part of my society but merely a self-centered interloper no more deserving of those protections than a rock in my driveway. Then, having gotten that off my chest, I could spit on him and quickly walk away whistling a cheerful tune before the authorities arrived.


    A bit of friendly advice for you. While your assault would work on a wimpy liberal, libertarians don't wait for the authorities. The typical libertarian would probably break both your arms, spit on you, and walk away whistling before the authorities arrived.

    Agreed! Years ago I bought a Dell craptop, and it was a total POS! I've had no problems at all with my iBook. It's far superior, software AND hardware.
