You wanna know what the theme song reminded me of? Well, I'll tell you anyway--it sounded like the theme from an old TV show from the 70's, The Greatest American Hero. What sci-fi geek would watch a show with such a fluffy, wimpy theme song?
For those of you too young to remember that show, it's available on DVD now--be warned that burning this show onto DVDs is a tragic waste of plastic and computer power
I liked that show. It wasn't great, and I don't plan to get the DVDs, but if you keep in mind that it was mostly a comedy disguised as a superhero show, it wasn't bad. The theme song was good - for that show. However a song like that wouldn't work for a Trek show, and I see the similarity to the ENT theme.
The queen was from the movie, not Voyager, but I agree that she was the first step in the Borg's downfall. Voyager contributed to their downfall by overusing them as the bad guys. I didn't mind them getting their metal butts kicked by 8472, but they also became ineffective against Voyager. Quite a comedown for the guys who almost wiped out the Federation with only one cube in TNG.
Actually, in most respects Mac84 was BETTER than Windows 3.X. In fact, Mac84 was better than Win95, except for its crappy memory management and multitasking.
Are you sure? I'm on a flexible schedule, but many of the people I know are not. And what does banning hummers have to do with oil? Oh, the other kind of hummer! Never mind.
There was a Star Trek novel where an alien race went back in time and kept the asteriod that wiped out the dinosuars from hitting the Earth. Thus mankind never existed! Admittedly, Earth isn't the universe, and it required some advanced stuff besides the time travel (we don't have asteriod deflectors yet), but the potential danger is still far beyond anything else.
My programming job is maintaining old COBOL code. It's neither closed or open source. If everything was GPL it would make no difference to me because my work isn't sold or distributed. It just helps run things where I work.
Apple in the early 80's is nothing like Apple now. Current Macs are a little pricey, but not too far out of line, and the hardware is as good or better than PC hardware. And OSX is MUCH better than any version of Windows.
Um, both Rush and Hannity spin like crazy themselves. Not that that's a good thing. Personally, I'd rather have a forum with solid facts and as little spin as possible, but I don't see that from the left OR the right.
Actually though, there is a word for somebody who wants a small government and who wants to maximize individual freedom. The word is: liberal
And yet, the alleged "liberal" party has always advocated bigger and bigger government, and poking their noses where they weren't wanted. The alleged "liberals" have never cared about individual freedom, they only want freedom for left-wing values.
To be fair, the alleged "conservatives" are no better. They wanted small government only when they weren't in power. Now that they are, they're expanding an already dangerously large government even bigger.
You've got to be kidding! I was using Potato when I was a kid, and my nick will tell you how long ago THAT was!
Agreed, but it would be nice if someone who could actually get into office thought about freedom.

The problem is Seasons 1-3 of Enterprise were far WORSE than Season 1 of TNG. After 3 years of that drek, 90% of the audience had left.

Actually, Ubuntu is spawned from Unstable, not Testing.
IOW, Mars has the qualities of Antartica, Arizona, London, and California.
Considering how badly Tony Stark got beaten up in his career, I doubt that Mr. Gates would use the armor himself. He'd hire a bodyguard to use it.
I had no problem getting a laptop without Windows.
God created the Big Bang and created the aliens. They came to Earth and seeded it with our ancestors.
Or maybe I'm just dreaming.
I don't know the statistics, but it seems to me that it's more dangerous, probably because the idiot drivers have forgotten how to drive at night!

But then I'd be going to work at noon, and coming home around midnight! That doesn't sound good.

That depends. Do you have an honest face?
Only if you give me chocolate.

I will admit that Windows is #1 for POS. Nobody else even comes close.

In space, no one can smell you farting!
But that wouldn't let him know that Uncle Jack is house-sitting while they're gone, and he carries 3 guns and knows how to use them.
Are you, by any chance, from Soviet Russia?
Release before summer? Great. Did they specify the year?
