Yeah, but Batman'd be bright enough (and rich enough) to stock a good supply of kryptonite.
Superman could fry Batman with heat vision long before Bats got close enough to use kryptonite!
Plus, Superman draws his powers from the yellow rays of the sun - and is useless at night. At least thats how it used to be in the comic. He also originally couldn't fly - just jump really high (tall buildings in a single bound).
AFAIK, Superman's NEVER been powerless at night! And the fact that he was much less powerful in the 40's is irrelevent now.
Superman's a clod. He just brute forces everything, he has no technique or skill or intelligence.
Just watch Justice League. Batman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern and the Flash will be ducking and dodging attacks left and right, then coming up with some innovative method to take out the enemy.
Superman and Wonder Woman just take it head on and get plowed through a concrete wall, then get up and get smashed again, until they finally prevail.
*Sigh* I'll admit that Superman doesn't use his head, mainly because if he DID use his brain and skill the rest of the Justice League wouldn't have much to do. But Batman HAS to duck & dodge, since one hard hit will kill him!
Well, I got an infinite loop in the part of a program that printed something at work. When I killed it, there were 100,000+ lines of print. Then I made error #2: instead of deleting the job, I accidently released it to the printer (the R key is too close to the D key). I wasn't the first person to get bit by that, but I was still the butt of jokes for awhile.
So, what's the purpose of asking what I want lynx's home page to be? That's what I call a stupid & unneccesary question. Ok, maybe you don't want it arbitrary set to www.lynx.org, but you can change it AFTER it's installed with a reasonable default.
IMO, Debian (and Slackware) are more flexible than Mandrake. Mandrake (and RedHat) tend to dump everything they think you'll need on your HD when installing. Debian & Slack are much leaner. Also, Mandrake emphasizes eye-candy. Debian doesn't give a hoot about eye-candy. The reason why Debian is said to be one of the best, despite a really crappy install, is the emphasis on stability over bleeding edge (sometimes Mandrake is too bleeding), and ease of upgrading.
Unfortunately, whenever the installer is mentioned, several people say exactly that! They may not be Debian developers, but it DOES give that impression. The only way to correct this impression is to fix/replace the damn thing. And, yes, I know it's far easier to mouth off on/. than it is to fix bad code.
It doesn't really matter WHY the installer sucks! The fact is, it doesn't matter HOW good Debian is if nobody can install the damn thing. It has nothing to do with it being text-based; Slackware is text-based, and it installs great! I have to configure a few things, but it works.
The only hard part may be the partioning, but if you can't get through that, you're SOL. I gave up on it because I wasn't prepared to totally and permanently foobar my Windows setup (even though I seldom use it these days).
There is one credible threat I can think of from alien civilizations. If I were an alien, I'd be concerned about the prospect of a violent race getting Faster Than Light capability. I'd keep an eye on this immature race. As long as they stay confined to their planet/solar system, they're no problem, but if they get FTL technology without curbing their violent nature, it would make sense to stop them before they become a threat.

I agree! The 80's were crap! I was lucky, because I was living with my mom, and she helped me afford college. Now I have a good job with the government. I agree! I own a very old house in a crap neighborhood. I'd never get rich selling the damn thing, but it's MY house. I'm not paying rent to some fatcat, I'm buying my own house! There's a big difference.
My reason is the monthly fee. 13 bucks doesn't sound bad, until you realize that it's YET ANOTHER 13 bucks on top of all the other fees and bills I pay. Plus, it's currently 13 bucks. Next year, it might be 20. The only reason they'd have to lower them is fear from competition, which means they might go under and I'm screwed.
I disagree. Superman has proven his courage many times. And Superman is much smarter than you're giving him credit for.
Isn't Batman only in his 30's? At this rate, Dick will soon be older than Bruce! Unless they go to "Batman Beyond".
That Batman doesn't have real superpowers either. Just a fancy high-tech suit that's not as powerful as Luthor's robots.
All that proves is that a smart writer can give Bats the victory. The Bat COULD win, but he's still the underdog in this fight. Even WITH kryptonite.

LOL!!
I agree! I don't really give a flying fig about a GUI installer, but Debian's text installer just plain sux. Slackware does much better.
One problem is that code optimized for a Pentium might not run as well on a K6 as 386 code.
You've got a long wait! The Progeny installer will come with Debian 3.1!

So, does that mean Debian won't get a decent installer until Debian 8.1? Will mankind still be alive by then?

Nah, Uranus is a long way away (I hope). Besides, there's way too much methane to support life as we know it.
