I could probably kill someone with my bare hands. Does that mean that I should be required to have my hands tied behind my back to fly on a plane? What about the rest of the passengers? They have hands; maybe they should all have their hands tied! Including the 70 year-old granny; she might be a trained killer!
I was in my cube at work in Kansas City, MO. I don't remember just what I was doing, but I overheard people talking in the distance about a plane crash involving the WTC. I assumed it was an accident and continued working. Then I overheard that it WASN'T an accident! I stopped working, and started asking my co-workers what was going on. When they told me, I didn't quite believe it, and checked the internet for more info, right about the time everything slowed to a crawl. A couple hours after that, they let us off work, and I listened to the radio on my way home. The whole thing seemed like a nightmare! I don't think it really sunk in until the next day what had happened.
Windows itself (9x,2K) is perfectly fine. It's the crap you run on it that causes trouble.
Maybe, but I've never had much trouble with the "crap" I run on Linux. Either it works consistently, or it fails consistently. With Doze, maybe it works right sometimes, and blows up every 3rd Tuesday.
IMO, attitude makes the difference. If somebody says "Hey, I'll donate $$,$$$ to the poor so I'm in with the big guy", that won't work. However someone who says "Oh, those poor people really need help! I'll donate $$$" is a different case.
I hate you!:) I'm 6'1" 200 lbs. I'm middle of the road fitness-wise. I don't run much these days, but I walk several miles a day on the weekends, and sometimes after work, and I have no problem running up the stairs to my 3rd floor office.
Very true! Once, I was driving with my GF, yakking about something that happened at work, when I came to a curving exit, in heavy traffic, with a car pulled onto the shoulder on the side. I stopped talking mid-sentence while going past all that stuff, then resumed after I didn't need to focus on the road as much. My GF could see why I stopped talking and waited for me to resume. Someone on a phone might have started asking me distracting questions about my sudden silence.
On my own PC I currently use Slackware, and I'd choose Debian over RedHat. However, if my boss told me we were going to Linux and asked me what distro to go with, I would probably pick RH. It upgrades easier than Slack, and 90% of the time, Debian Stable is just too old.
But...and just trust me on this one...a reference to television comes up real, real quick in your average conversation. When in groups they're easy to duck but when someone asks you, "It was like that time on ______ when Bob stuck the cheese in the ________" and the fact that your confused look began long before the sentence ended...
You can have the same blank look if you DO watch TV. Maybe you just don't watch "______", never heard of "Bob", and don't care where he stuck the cheese.
Well, I once furbared my Win98 machine and had a hell of a time reinstalling the SOB. It was about as bad as my FIRST install of Debian 2.1 (Slink), and much worse than any other Linux distro (including Debian 2.2-Potato).
Ada has a reputation of being hard to write and easy to read/modify. Since most programs are written once and maintained over years/decades, that sounds like a good trade-off.
I actually get a kick out of watching those action/adventure movies on regular TV where they say "shoot", "freaking", and "heck". It changes the feel of the scenes, but it's also "freaking" funny!
One of my gripes was that the Federation didn't encounter the Ferrengi until Picard's time! Isn't that nearly 2 centuries after Enterprise?
Time travel will give me a headache!
Damn, it's enough to make a guy sick!

I agree! The Constitution should NOT get suspended! There may be emergencies where there isn't time for Congress to act, but this isn't one of them.

Orders like that don't come from God! They don't even come from Allah! If anything, they come from Satan!
Maybe He knows all possible outcomes, depending on which path we take, but it's up to us to take the path.
I couldn't agree more! Once the subject of religion came up with my GF, and I told her "I believe in God. I don't believe in the church"

It's not unique to Christians. I've known atheists who are just as "superior".
I can answer no to all the above. The only illegal drug I've ever done was beer (I was under 21).
I'd recommend walking. It's much easier than running, and it DOES make a difference.
Oh, and I don't think I eat that much. Certainly I ate much more in my 20's when I weighed 130! But I do drink quite a bit of Coke.

Until 250 million VCR users march on DC with torches & picthforks!

Yes, but I still turned out ok. WHERE'S MY RAW MEAT!!

Great, unless
1. You want 1.8 (or 1.7)
2. You're using Slackware.
