Ororo only has one power, but when that one power is weather control, who needs more? I can't think of any male mutants with that level of power, except Magneto.
Yup. And it's not just true for the President. My city recently had a primary for mayor. The 3 choices were the current mayor, with a history of raising taxes and spending on "projects" while neglecting failing infrastructure, a crazy guy who doesn't even LIVE in the city, and some guy nobody's ever heard of. The crazy guy got eliminated, so the big race will be between the status quo and the no-name guy. I don't think no-name has a chance.
What about all the people that can ONLY get AOL in their rural areas (the Comcast "go fuck yourself" zones)? It seems strange to think less of them for living in the wrong place.
Well, people in the middle of their farms, milking their cow with a pitchfork sticking out their back pocket, aren't usually considered tech-savvy themselves, even if they DON'T use AOL.:)
I think I still have a free account. I vaguely remember them talking me into it back when I got broadband at the turn of the century. I don't remember what my username was.
The "desktop" isn't going anywhere in my home. My tablet is fine for pure consumption, email, Facebook, Netflix, etc. But it is totally inadequate even for something as simple as ranting on my favorite web forum. I could switch to a Chrombook far more easily than I could to iOS or Android, but Google Docs isn't as good as MS Office, and where would I put my top secret plans for world domination?
Don't get me started about 4-way stops! In my neighborhood, the city, in its infinite non-wisdom, replaced several intersection's traffic lights with 4-way stops to save money. IMHO, it's a mess! Half the time, it's not clear who was first/next to the intersection, and more than half don't seem to realize you should yield to the vehicle on the right.
Once, I was trying to make a left turn and the guy going the other way stopped and waved me on. If I had gone, I would have been hit by the guy in the other lane.
I don't have to buy a home PC. I've already got one. And I have no plans to get rid of it, since neither iOS nor Android is even close to replacing it.
I'm certainly a better tech than my boss, even though she came thrugh the tech fields and is no PHB. I'm very definitely not a better boss than she is. At best, I might BS my way through the job, hating every minute until I got fed up and quit. More likely, they'd catch onto my incompetence (in that role) and can me before I quit.
For a long time, at work, I didn't have any choice. It was fairly recent that they installed FF as a secondary browser. I still use IE for some of the internal web stuff, since some of it doesn't work with FF.

I've never had a problem with att--, oh look, a squirrel!
It's possible for a programmer to write good documentation, but only if:
1. They're writing it for other programmers, preferably ones already familiar with the product.
2. They're able to think like a non-programmer.
#2 is very rare, IME.
Compared to what? C might be high-level compared to Assembler, but it was low-level compared to Basic, Fortran, and COBOL.

Sounds like management backed the wrong donkey.
Fixed your post.
They did better than I expected. I thought they'd repeat what they did with their word processor and call it "Browser".
It could be worse. I've seen it spelled "KOBOL", probably by someone who's seen too much Battlestar Galactica.
Call me when they've implemented systemd.
What version?

An iPad, seriosly...?
iPads are media consumption devices, not workplace tools, unless of course FB, NetFlix and YouTube are what you do at work.
That would be an interesting job.
This is why we should all support the republican crusade to outlaw encryption technology!
The saying "If you outlaw encryption, only outlaws will have encryption" couldn't possibly be more appropriate.

...as she demonstrated terrible choices in men AND pizza.
She certainly had a terrible choice in that man, but the pizza saved her life!
The big problem with Patch Tuesday was that most exploits from the following Wednesday on wouldn't get fixed for a month. MS should get rid of that.

Yeah, even if you have 5 years experience in Language Y, which is very similar to X. :-P
I'm concerned about that in my own future. No kids, and given our family histories, I have a better than even chance of outliving my GF.

Yeah, I remember hearing that 9 months after a major power outage in some city, the population increased.
So, the people who said otherwise were lying through their teeth?
