  1. So what's he complaining about? on I, Spammer · · Score: 1

He knows he is inconviencing people...

    And he is being inconvienced!

So how is it that he feels we should feel sorry for him?

Note: He removed the ability to opt out... hence it's completely unsolicited, the email addresses are bought from a *third party*... and spammed so that they can't be removed from the list.

    He's a clear cut spammer.

I have no problem with companies like Apple, Gateway, Palm, etc. having a mailing list advertising their products with tips and such... you can opt out... no attempt to disquise.

But he bought the list (obviously because he couldn't aquire a legitimate database)... and hid the ability to remove ones self.

  3. Wireless would be more cost efficient on DSL Hardware for Wiring Condos? · · Score: 1

I would go with getting lots of WAP's. Run whatever cable/fiber you choose up the building in key places, and load the place with 802.11g WAP's.

Then sell access to the wap's.

The cards aren't that expensive... and if you buy in bulk, you can most likely get some sort of a discount.

It's compatible with any computer, and cheaper in the long run to upgrade. The WAP's can be easily switched or upgraded. And the only cabling is rather limited in length. it only links the WAP's together.

Replace All file sharing with WebDAV, perhaps enhance it a bit.

    Then a standard IM Protocol.

  6. Works great for me on Getting Rid of the Disks · · Score: 2, Interesting

    Should use intelegent drive management.

Since solid state memory is cheaper now than it was, disk drives should use giant amounts of cashe... Perhaps 512MB... let the OS put the common stuff there.... that way boot time, and such could be quicker.

Kind of like auxilary ram. The OS can put stuff there based on what it thinks should be there... for example commonly used apps (in most cases a webbrowser and email client)..

Can also expand on the idea and use solid state as a form of backup, since it's so reliable. Have the system automatically compress data on the drive from specified directorys, and backup to solid state memory.

There are so many potential uses. We rely on hard drives to much.
