My Powerbook G4 running linux can detect more than one finger. I use a 2 finger tap for right click, three for middle click and use "gestures" for scrolling in which I press with one finger and slide the second to simulate a scroll wheel. The G4 I'm using was released 6 years ago.
I think you need to read a bit more closely. A quote from the Article: "He described how the critical thermal maximum for many frog species has been determined by contemporary research experiments: as the water is heated by about 2F per minute, the frog becomes increasingly active as it tries to escape, and eventually jumps out if the container allows it."
I'm in this boat too, except my machine is an old G4 laptop. I don't visit VGChartz anymore and I've cut way back on my slashdot reading because the site locks up Firefox (3.5.1 on PowerPC) for long enough that I get those "Script is taking too long to complete" errors. Noscript helps and is probably the only reason why I still come to slashdot.:(
You mean Mario Galaxy, Wii Play (Duck Hunt+) and Metroid Prime 3? To be honest, I think Nintendo is the only one who has stuck to what they're good at: Making good games.
I'm pretty sure this isn't true, simply because the output from the cameras is displayed on the screen when you raise or lower the Wii Remote sensitivity.
It's the same situation on the Wii. Guitar Hero: WT is incompatible with the Rock Band Wii drum kit. It's absolutely ridiculous for both platforms to not support these controllers, and reeks of a money grab by Activision.
For what it's worth, I've had less fun with Guitar Hero: WT than Rock Band Wii, gimped as it is. Hopefully Rock Band 2 Wii is at least as good as the previous installment, and DLC works as promised.
Honestly, why don't you just let those people have their shooters while you enjoy your Wii. I completely don't understand why people need to evangelize for whatever game system they bought.
It's not evangelism, it's the brutal truth that the Wii Remote is a *better* input device than two thumb sticks. It's easily almost as good as mouse. *That's* why everyone wants to see more shooters on the Wii, the system is screaming for better games that utilize the controls.
It's actually worse than that. There's no band "World Tour" option, which is a great feature from the PS3/X360 versions. Instead, it's a simple tiered progression, just like Guitar Hero. Lame. There's also no band customization, which is worse because even Guitar Hero 3 for Wii does that.
It is really just a terribly lame port and a quick cash in on Harmonix's part. They really should be ashamed of the result.:p
You didn't mention what genres you like, but I'm still pretty impressed with the DS' library. I like turn based strategy games, on the DS, I've got Age of Empires, both Advance Wars games and Civilization Revolution.
There's "adventure" games too. I really like the Phoenix Wright series. Professor Layton is fun, as is Hotel Dusk (really cool art style on this one).
There are music games, like Elite Beat Agents and Guitar Hero DS.
There's a million platformers and ports of old SNES/N64 games.
Really, the DS' library blows all of the current generation of consoles out of the water, unless you like ultra realistic games and FPS.
In addition to the titles listed above and the ones in stastuffis' post (#24256291), I'd also recommend the Trauma Center games. As for things coming out in the future, there's actually quite a bit of interesting stuff to look forward to:
1. Wario Land Shake 2. Fatal Frame 4 3. Tenchu 4 4. Dead Rising (Wii Port from 360) 5. Dangerous Creatures 6. The Conduit 7. Samba De Amigo 8. De Blob 9. Madworld 10. SkateIt (Uses the WiiFit board!) 11. SimCity Creator 12. Spyborgs
There's a ton more, you've just got to start looking. The announcements for new Wii games have been coming fast recently and the quality is starting to go up (finally). Interestingly, most of these are 3rd party too...
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that there are a *ton* of good games on the Wii, they just don't seem to get much advertising or mind share here and on gaming forums.
nexgenwars is pretty horribly wrong, their numbers don't make any sense at all. Check out http://vgchartz.com/ for numbers that are at least updated. They're at least probably accurate to 5-10%.
I'm not sure what you're waiting for. With the Homebrew Channel, you can start ScummVM directly from the Wii Interface. The only tricky part is getting the HBC installed and there are plenty of tutorials for that.

Seems to indicate that they tried it.
And that's why Rock Band is so awesome and Guitar Hero is anti-consumer.

Actually, 10.5 is pretty usable on an 800MHz PPC, but only if it has enough RAM.
I can't believe nobody mentioned AMD open sourcing all of the Radeon documentation. That's some of the biggest open source news this year imho.
I'd probably argue that the Pioneer craft edge out the rovers, but the rovers are an easy third. :)

VGChartz counts Canada as part of "America", and it accounts for about 10% of the total. The VGChartz numbers are pretty close.

Does this remind anyone else of Tom Swift and the Cosmic Astronauts?

This book was printed in 1960! I love how science always seems to find ways of catching up with science fiction!
