There's a difference. The car you bought the actual car, not a license to use that car. That's why you pay the state $78 for a year (at least here in IL). The difference resides in that the RIAA says that you buy a license for the music when you buy a CD, but then they say that if you want the new format you have to pay full price. When licensing software, if you previously licensed said software and a new version comes out, you get a discount on the new license.
Concerning the car speakers, you would be surprised by what high-end sound systems can sound like. And no, I don't mean the latest "7.1" in a new Toyota, I mean even back in the 80's, when they used quality speakers and the high-end sound system added a couple grand to the price of the car (even then).
So, Palm, who is generally still a little less expensive than the Zaurus PDAs, is no competition? I personally like their products and would be interested in buying a Tungsten T3 if it has Wifi, and it's cheaper than any Zaurus with similar features (at least at the time I was looking a month or 2 ago).
You are correct, but there is the fact that a Palm is so much cheaper than a PocketPC and even a Clie. If you worked in a store that sold these things, the people who buy the PocketPCs are generally arrogant and the type that, when you see them 5 months later, gave it away. Otherwise they get it because work gave them one to use and they can't stand the thought of learning a new system (PalmOS). Oh, and there are the users that imagine that PalmOS is going to be soooooo hard to figure out compared to PocketPC.
As for the Palms people will use them for familiarity. Those that have used both generally go back to Palm for the lower price and ease of use. I have seen people go the other way, as well, though.
I personally love Palms and hate PocketPCs. Palms are cheaper for equivalent function and I find them generally easier to use. PocketPCs are too much like a shrunken down version of XP that generally is slow and tries to escape the tiny screen as often as it can. I liken it to using 640x480 resolution on a 21 inch monitor and ten adding extra-large fonts to it.
Why would it be better for it to run linux? would you get more functionality? Possibly, but would you use it?
Also, PalmOS is integrated to the hardware like Mac OS is tied to their Mac hardware. I like this for a handheld where I can't tinker with the hardware anyway, though I don't especially like it in the Mac (personal opinion, I don't have any problem with those that prefer Macs unless it's some fuzzy "this is faster" thing. That goes for if they prefer PCs because they are "faster").
And your point has nothing to do with assembly in particular. You are basically saying to use object oriented programming practices. This is not something that assembly will teach you better than any other programming language.
Holy shit, you went there too? Did you have Rannie? I understand he failed like 50% of the students he had. He didn't even teach, or help when I asked him, and he told the TA not to either. That is one of the many many reasons I hate that school.
I would concede that point if the schools taught assembly on a non-deprecated architecture. When I went to college I had to take an assembly class with IBM's s370 architecture. It was just about the most horrendous programming class I ever took. This is including FORTRAN and x86 assembly. They even used the book for the language written in 1973. They didn't use the newer standards written in the 90's, let alone the late 70's or 80's.
If they had used x86 assembly, or even SPARC, it would have at least made more sense (as it did when i looked into it later).
Can I sell you one tomorrow? I can't promise to deliver the product right away.... but I could sell it to you tomorrow if you give me the money tomorrow.
For guys who like to play the field multiple personality disorder is a way to find a woman to marry. You have one wife, but she seems like different people depending on what time it ie, her moods, etc.
I'd say Bush has done quite a bit wrong. You are as bad as him, assuming he hates Bush for being Bush. He may hate Bush for his actions and policies. Or are you saying that that is wrong, too?
Maybe it would murder your framerate, but not mine. Maybe they should limit Coruscant to those that can afford the very best video cards;). Or maybe make that the upper-class area and the lower class have less detail (corridors).
the B-wing is actually used as a bomber. It has the mounts to make it quite effective at bombing, though less so than the Y-wing. This, however, is offset by its better maneuvering capabilities. Also, in order to handle bombs, the B-wing needs a refit in dock.
Yes, this is offtopic, but I needed to correct this person.
If I am wrong in any way, please correct me, but I'm fairly sure I am correct.
Likely not at all, yet, as the two companies are still largely separate in what they make at the moment. They may be using the Cisco tech in their lower-end stuff, but they are less likely to have techs that work on Linsys branded products move over to Cisco teams, than having the Cisco techs work on the Linksys stuff.
When you install linux, if you use KDE you have Konqueror (sorta like IE and Windows) and for Gnome I believe you have a related browser, but haven't used Gnome much lately so I can't remember.
I really want to know what player you have that's better, and, more importantly, why. I'm looking for a hard drive based player and I'm trying hard not to get an iPod. The best reasons I can come up with are lack of ogg support, somewhat short battery life (though included rechargeable is a plus) and the high price.
ADSL at 5-6 kilometers - I wish (unless I'm missing something).
I swear to God I'm gonna tell your friend!!
Yeah your friend will know you did it.
wait..... what was your friends name again? and I didn't catch yours either.

I'd like to see a laptop run better than 24 hours on a single charged battery.... Or even 6 or 8 hours for that matter.

The problem comes when the advertisement is sort of blurry and doesn't tell you *exactly* what will happen.

Both?

I thought that the CGI sequences of Neo were the less zombie-like moments in Keanu's acting career. ;)
The way I buy it's generally a 5% performance increase for a 30% price premium.
If you'd drive across the street for smokes, whether or not you have a ferrari, can I be your only benefactor for your will in an early death?

Yes, we can see how MS is such a monopoly in every hardware category.
Like mice and keyboards. Oh wait, do I see Logitech?
Or maybe wheels and joysticks. Thrustmaster is that you? along with Logi and all the others?
I know! It's the consoles you're talking about!!! Umm, maybe I forgot Gamecube and Playstation 1/2, and especially GameBoy Advance.

Why don't you have a right to hack something you bought? or are you just being a troll?
If I bought it, I can do whatever the fuck I want to it. I may void my warranty, but that's my problem.
