Hitler did do some decent stuff for getting the Germans out of the black hole WW1 put them in. But then he kept on and did his biological experiments and bigotry and stuff to ruin it. Of course he did some of that from the start, but VW and Porsche would not be here except for him.
I've had that happen before, combined with "Well, sometimes she bites, but I thought you were too nice for her to bite." I've also had people warn me their dog will bite and the dog was licking me within a minute or two. So the owner doesn't necessarily know.
What the hell are you talking about? Sports sure as hell are funded by public money, especially football and cheerleading. I played soccer. We got some basic equipment every year from school funds, but not much. The football team got new helmets and jerseys every few years. And we were about the lowest ranking team in our state for football.
The problem is the wealthier districts are less than 25% of schools. My parents live in an area with a middle-of-the-road median income, but they're cutting every program at the schools because nobody wants to pay the taxes required. And yes, this includes some multi million dollar homes.
Remember that Nintendo is a developer as well as manufacturer. And I've seen different numbers saying that many developers have made money on the Wii. Unfortunately finding those numbers in reality is not easy from my quick searches. I find info that more developers are losing money on the Wii, as well as most developers have runaway profits from the Wii. So I don't know what to believe.
But I know many people who have the Wii and an Xbox 360 or PS3 (or all three) and still play the Wii as much, if not more than, the other console(s). So while your anecdotal evidence may point one way, mine points another.
The second quintile has a negative tax liability, but it says their average after-tax income is not offset by that amount. To be honest, this spreadsheet is not very clear, at least not to me. Also, it is applying things like Earned Income credits and Child Tax credits across the board, which are not at all across the board in reality. My first year making about $42000 (second quintile) I did not have a negative tax rate. I got nowhere near what I paid in back. And yes, I do my own taxes, but I shouldn't have to pay $300 to get my taxes done and get an extra $200 from the government. Tax laws are too convoluted now and I shouldn't *need* a tax professional to get 90% of my money.
I hope you don't seriously think you can never get a virus. If you give your kid the root password and they use it in the wrong place, or you're caught by some malware because you're distracted, it could well happen. But yes, it's in the almost-never-could-happen category, but I would never say never. There are a few Linux viruses, not that I've ever gotten any.
Haha, I did just this about a month ago. Drain was slow as shit and the liquid plumber didn't work. Got a snake for about $20 and found a bunch of hair wrapped around a bottle cap that fell down the drain. Took less than 5 minutes with the snake, would have cost at least $100 or so for a plumber.
And many in this world are hard-up because they take a stand for everything, and, thus, don't get along with anyone willing to pay them a salary. Sometimes you have to choose your battles. Sometimes you can lose your house, car, and job all at once, and not be able to find a job because you have no phone, or resume, etc.
You are wrong, they do want to control it, but only after it gets 100,000 views. Then they will find any little bit you did in there that they can claim copyright on.
Why would someone "in it for the money" not keep up with newer technologies? If they need it to make money, they'll learn it. Contrast this with the person who insists on using such-and-such deprecated function call because it "works fine in this many (unmaintained) Open Source projects".
Make that clear to anyone on your signup page, and make it clear in your forum, etc, that there is no SSL so sessions can be highjacked. Or else you can just show it as-is to a prospective employer with the caveat that you weren't handling personal info so you didn't put out the money for SSL. Many will respect that choice, as you don't have a multi-million dollar company to sweat the bills. If you do have that multi-million dollar company, hopefully the prospective employer has heard of your site so you can say you have SSL.
Then there are areas like mine. They have interesting deals at least twice a week here (Tampa Bay) in addition to those lipo-deals and all else. To be honest, here in Florida the facial peels, etc, are really big business, so they actually sell a quite decent number, albeit not to me or my wife. They actually have interesting deals about 80% of the time (at least one day has nothing interesting) but about half aren't within easy driving distance for us anymore since we have a small child.
Not sure what business youa re in, but you could always contact them and say you want a limit of, say 100 coupons sold. If they say no, hey you wasted 30 minutes on the call. If they say yes, maybe you get more exposure. But I can understand your hesitance. Just an idea you could try.
My wife and I have gone to places that do the Groupon once every few months. Since we've gotten it every time (because the restaurant in question is very good) we asked one of them about it. Remember that restaurants are charged a base amount for food. Then they mark it up based on the work they have to do. This place said people coming in with a Groupon worth $40 often spend $60-100. So yes, they are taking a hit of around $30 from their listed price, but when things are marked up more than 50%, it doesn't matter because the total bill is still high. Add to that the people that don't redeem, and the people who have found "their new favorite restaurant" and it makes sense. Also, for services they often arrange to have one to two days a week dedicated to Groupon bookings. One massage we got for my wife had to be redeemed about 9 months later because we didn't book it right away and all the bookings were filled. So yeah, not really seeing how this photography company necessarily killed themselves when so many businesses love the Groupons here.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, if there is a business that doesn't honor the Groupon correctly, or gives you bad service, contact Groupon and they will deal with the company on your behalf, and in many cases get you a refund. We had one Groupon that was refunded for us because the service was found to be horrible by the first few people to try to use it.
Well, I don't know which movie the last one is from. I believe it's a Clint Eastwood (or whatever the fuck his name is) movie, but dunno which one. Don't eve know the names of any. I can't stand to watch any of them to be honest.
In my area cable is better than DSL. And it's not Comcast, but Roadrunner. I'm not saying you aren't correct - for your area. Just don't assume. I know of areas where DSL is so over subscribed that the shared bandwidth really is an issue. DSL is shared just the same as cable, just because it looks like it's higher up (or whatever) doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

Try it when sitting at the local keyboard for a machine. In many cases there's no way to copy/paste
This is exactly why I am looking at a way to move out of the US. You don't get what you pay for here, but you do in most other civilized countries.

I feel threatened by people grabbing my crotch at the airport, but I am told I have to submit to it. Does that mean I can have that person arrested?

I thought BBMak came around in the late 90's and then went back into obscurity pretty quickly. Don't tell me they're still around and still big!

No it doesn't take that long. Since you reinstall every day it only takes abou t2 hours because you keep your files on a separate drive.

My tipping point was about 7 years ago
Hmmm, that's a good idea, sing for freedom like the residents of Estonia did.
