    I don't think this applies universally. I have had very good customer service relationships with Indian outsourcers and I think part of it is cultural (in general respect and diligence are faded values in the US, while elsewhere they are only fading) and part of it may be that many of the people being employed in India do not care so much about the success of their company, but that simply for financial reasons and uncertainty about the job market, care about keeping their job.

    I found your analysis rather shallow, but acceptable for the sake of its brevity and succinctness if nothing else. I was able to follow your argument until your last line "Bush can't understand what's it's like for an ordinary family to suffer the devastation of unemployment because he's never lived through it."

          I assure you, I am very far from being a Bush fan by any means, but that is just a horrible attack to make on anyone that has to make executive political decisions or statements. Did you vote for the candidate that has experienced everything? Should the commander and chief defer all decisions he has not directly had experience with to someone that has?

    true, but the parent does emphasize a point that I think is especially relevant as we celebrate the success of wiki. As we begin putting more faith in online sources of information, especially as prominent victors (wiki, google) emerge as "standards" we do run the risk of an Orwellian information system susceptible to changing right underneath our noses.

    A nice touch on this would have been to route the power to the cap, maybe with just a small spring switch that barely protruded above the rim such that taking the cap off would release the spring and start the computer up.

    your example hints on another reason why .xxx is a terrible idea. With blocking software in place it's likely that that our future, the youth of the world, will grow up yanking it to "graphical information about vaginal yeast infections." Call me Freudian if you will, but such specimens will not likely exhibit prime mental health in their later years.
