a new firewall software package? I havent heard of this company IBF (Integrated Business Firewall) before. Wonder how good it is... guess I'll give it a try.;)
This sounds similar to what Garage Games has put out. Their Torque Game Engine is the same one that powered Tribes 2 and now you can buy the source for $100. You get Mac, Linux and Windows code for that one price. Sweat Deal if you ask me. Sure there are a few things to consider, you cant release the source code and if you create anything that you wish to sell you have to do it through them (although its still a good deal). There is also a good community currently working with the code. Plus they are improving the code as time goes on and release it to those who purchased it. No I dont work with for them or anything, I just purchased the package and I'm currently working on a game in my spare time. I hope to release it cross platform when its done (mac, win, linux).
767's only hold 24,000 gallons of fuel (like others said), and all planes of that size store the fuel in tanks in the wings, not in the body of the plane.
While paintball always seems like a good idea and is brought up every time something like this article is posted, it is not that usefull. Paintballs tend to not work like real bullets in that small trees and leaves tend to stop the paintballs. They also tend to have a very limited range, unlike real bullets that can and do go for miles. What they can and do use is something called Simunition. This is a non lethal bullet that is fired from the very same guns that they will be using in real combat. The only thing needed is some sort of face protection. Its like advanced paintball. They even have shotguns outfitted with this stuff.
Rumor also has it that Halo will have a sequel/expansion pack for the X-Box that brings it online officially, so maybe it will have a more massive multiplayer (16+ players) focus.
This brings up a good point.
If a game sells enough copies and does well in the market overall, there is more "backing" to create a multiplayer addon. This of course works in the oposite if the game sucks and it doesnt sell as well as it should have, then they may not go ahead and create the multiplayer addon. The multiplayer addon can be looked as an additional form of revenue. $70 for the first game (cdn) and $40 for the addon. (cdn)
While 4xbox games are nice and the work done so far is amazing, Im missing something in all this...
I just finished playing a 20+ person game of Q3UT2 online with a 50msec ping with no lag on my cable modem. If the XBox is only going to support 4 players (a few more later?), why would I want one over my current system setup? Although maybe the games don't require more people to be as fun...?
Considering its based on the very first settlers, we dont tend to think of harvests that way anymore. They relied on the harvest to live for the year and it was usually a close call if they got enough food from it. Thus, if it was a good harvest it was celebrated by giving thanks. Im not sure where the turkey part came from, but I guess that is when turkeys are generally ready for slaughter and thats what they ate.
In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north.
All they do is add a key to the list when its produced and when you connect to them it just checks to see if that key you sent was actually created. They might store your IP upon connection for piracy purposes but I'm not sure...
Its just a "little" bit of data to store. The particle accelerator at Fermilab called the Tevatron can cause 2.5 million particle collisions per second. The new CERN PA will be able to produce 100 times more collisions per second, its due to come online around 2006.
Fun facts of the Fermilab PA:
700 scienteist and engineers work there.
1000 giant superconducting magnets.
$10 million in annual elictricity bills.
15 miles of pipes to carry the liquid helium to the magnets.
I had a problem with them recently as well. A domain had been registered by a client with them and the information was passed on to me to setup the dns/etc. but the password supplied did not work. After emailing them and eventually having to phone them, they said the password was valid and works for them. Funny, didnt for me or anyone else. They changed it and now it works. Guess this is only a small complaint really.
Worry about money all you want, but sooner or later you will find out money is NOT what makes life what it is. I dont make a lot where I am working, but, Im very happy where I work. I like those who I work with and Im friends with many of them. If you only work for money you end up like those you seem to hate. If your good at what you do and are a good worker, then you will get what you deserve.

As a Canadian who doesnt live near the border, I can not get Mt. Dew with cafeine in it... Some silly thing about a fruit (in this case lemony or lime type flavor) drink can not have cafeine in it. Its the law. Like wtf? So we no choice and must drink no cafeine Mt. Dew in order to enjoy its sweet sweet taste. (well at least in Ontario as I have no knowledge abot the other provinces)

I noticed the other day that http://www.futureshop.ca [Lazy Link] has had their site taken over by MS for the XBox. Now I dont mind advertising, but, having something pushed in my face like that when I could be shopping for something like the GC kinda upsets me. I know major retail stores do tend to play favorites with certain companies but this is over the edge I think. So, do you think stores should be monopolised (heh) like this?
Whos penny are we talking about here? American? Canadian? Else? How are we gonna know what this next page we view is going to cost us? This brings out the "pay as you go" type system where you will buy a block of "page views" from some company. Except this wont work if there is more than one company... odds are very good there wont only be one. Will they be compatible? No, of course not. Ok, so that wont work. Well each site could keep track of you and force you to login each time you visit (blah blah cookies blah) but then you have to trust the company to not screw you over (hah! ya right). Maybe the only way to do something like this is to give you some free content but if you want to read more then you can pay to view or download the rest of the information. Of course this would cost more just due to credit card charges...
