i tell people to get macs. not because they won't cause frustration (perhaps not quite so much yes) but because when i do get the support call i can simply say "sorry, i dont support macs"
yeah also note that cbs/last.fm only deny handing over "user info" which is seems like a carefully constructed statement. how exactly do they define "user info?" it implies that they have handed over some info.
i dont know about you but every ISP i've ever had has horrible NNTP retention rates. and now most ISPs are cutting usenet hosting completely.
so, if you want a good retention rate you have to PAY for a 3rd party service. at which point you've handed over you name, address and billing info. i guess it's not "traceable" because they're not tracing you so much as you've just put your name on a list.
then we build mirror to reflect the suns rays. then when THAT fails we ignite a giant robot fart to change the orbit of the planet. the the show gets canceled.
i could go on and on. but first and foremost: no copy/cut and paste. wtf? it's been about 5 years since i had a cell phone that DIDNT have the ability to copy and paste.
also the mail application is probably worst email client i've used since AOL 2.5. you can't disable downloading html objects? wtf?
if it wasnt for the fact that i can read comic books on it i'd certainly have returned it or at least bought a shotgun and shot it.
the ability of an OS to perform to expectations has little to nothing to do with marketing drivel. especially when it comes to television ads--how are you supposed to explain an OS in 30 seconds anyway?
i'm not trying to defend vista (i still refuse to use it) or MS but at least they weren't slinging some "it just works" horseshit.
most of the major ISPs either already provide video (cable) or are paying billions of dollars to offer video (verizon, att, etc).
the phone companies got hit by VOIP. and now the cablecos and the telcos are worried that some "video vonage" will come in and offer video at a lower rate over their own data lines.
this has been the game all along. come on in, take a seat.
right, so online retailers are voluntarily going to stop selling to one of the most populous and wealthy cities in the country? fat chance.
by the way, keeping track of 50 sales tax rates really isn't that hard these days. it's 2008--it would be trivial to create publicly accessible database that linked zip codes to sales tax rates. it only gets really tricky if you start applying COUNTY LEVEL tax rates. and many states, ny in particular, have sales tax rates that vary by county.
you know, i had a similar thought when i realized that the total hours of TF2 i've played in the last 2 weeks is posted for the world to see. then i realized that it was more hours than i had spent working in the same period of time and got concerned.
i dont know if it needs re-working. it's supposed to be a challenge for the attacking team. the first cap on stage 3 is practically impossible to hold for too long. and if you capture it quick enough you can give your team nearly 20 minutes to take the 2nd point.
you're correct that red need only be mediocre. but, i mean, it's called *TEAM* Fortress for a reason. two relatively coordinated teams will have GREAT skirmishes throughout.
if there's anything at all that needs nerfing it is the first trench in stage 2. because if red is nade/sticky spamming properly then it's effectively over after about 30 seconds because if blue doesnt make an effective and immediate push as soon as the gates open there's almost no way out. unless you can do a really coordinated and massive uber rush, which is practically impossible. not sure how you nerf it though. maybe add some gates kind like from stage one that prevents red from storming the trench.
i'd say it breaks down to be about 1 really good ep (think roswell that ends well or time keeps on slipping). 2 so-so episodes (think how hermes got his groove back or obsoletely fabulous) and 1 really bad episode (think bend-her).
i thought it was great. though. can't wait to buy the real version. i hope it has commentary!
surely i can be castigated for not having rtfa. however, given the fact the original article (http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/10/02/1359221&tid=97) was seven days prior to the "beaten" story and neither of the writeups in any way mention the 10% threshold I dont feel like my confusion was particular unreasonable. asshole.

it's probably DOA. no sponsor in the senate yet. so call/write/harass your nys senator to sponsor the bill.
also there's now the nys senate is now on twitter http://twitter.com/nysenate. so send them a tweet saying you want an open source tax credit.
or i could just use bittorrent for free. and as an added bonus i dont have to search for .par's.
less traceable?

the terminator seems like a cautionary tale to me. i know to steer clear of time travel cyborgs.
are R rated movies not eligible for tax incentives? that'd be kind of absurd.

simple.

wasn't this the plan from futurama? it even failed in futurama. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqPjxsAuUxk

is there another multi-touch device with 3g data support?
because i really hate the iphone os.
how the hell did this get +5 insightful? maybe +5 funny.

www.oldmanmurray.com genius.
not to mention that the guy is a theater executive and has a vested financial interest in de-hyping this movie before it opens. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/10/movies/10indy.html?bl&ex=1210564800&en=3ce1b1dc8e8ec160&ei=5087%0A

[obligatory simpsons quote] Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important?
Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.
I'm fired, aren't I?[/obligatory simpsons quote]
