I get this problem on my Dell ATI laptop. If I close the lid, then the screen will go black and become completely unresponsive. I have to power cycle to get it back.
What's most annoying is that I cannot click shutdown and close the lid. If I do that then it will lock up during the shutdown process and remain on until a few hours later when I notice. Granted, it only takes a few seconds to shutdown, but it's incredibly annoying to have to babysit.
We all know there was no sexual assault, it's just a bunch of corrupt countries trying to quietly silence an individual that has exposed their corruption to the world.
Unfortunately, Assange is pretty screwed now. The countries he embarrassed will most likely get him by fair* means or foul because, after all, it's what they're good at.
*By fair, I mean they'll simply assassinate him and make it look like he suffered a stroke or something, rather than simply storming the embassy and shooting him.
Think about it: They needed to cover it up, so he was made (against his will) to shave his beard and start wearing suits.
Gates vowed revenge for this, and what better way than to take over the world with computers and make the Curiosity rover run off a modified version of Windows Vista.
I'm really impressed with the amount of events that you can watch on the BBC's website. I initially thought it would just be a couple of events here and there, such as, you can either watch the badminton or the hockey.
Nope, you can choose from a massive range, so much so that I keep chopping and changing just to make sure I catch a bit of everything.
Except for the women's weightlifting. That's just scary.
Hotmail's spam filtering is without a doubt the worst on the web. Obvious spam ends up in my Inbox, and legitimate mail ends up in the spam.
What's worse though is when it gets fooled into thinking that the email is part of a mailing list I've subscribed to and displays all the images automatically, making the spammer aware that my email address is valid.
I think the biggest problem was that the tweets were directed at Daley, rather than just being written on the teenager's feed.
Daley was clearly upset about it which is why he re-tweeted the comment which was then re-tweeted by his followers (including several celebrities).
Frankly I was very disgusted when I read what the teenager had written. Losing your father when you're only 18 sucks enough without some twat goading you over it.
I wonder what the app was that got pulled. Why it was pulled would be good to know too.
Please leave a message, and we will get back to you when you strike oil. BEEP!

...it only lacks the graphics to practice shooting up a school.
But that's the beauty of FOSS, you can modify the graphics and shoot up schools to your heart's content!
These banners annoy the living crap out of me. Every time I go to a website, they pop up, obstructing the screen.
Of course, there is a way to make them go away, by accepting the cookies on the website.
Whereas before I could just discard cookies upon exit, I now have to permanently accept them just to stop these banners appearing.
Oh, the irony!
Capcom have a 3D Mega Man, right here:

The game sort of works in Wine. When it starts up, it appears full screen with loads of corrupted graphics in the borders and there's no sound.
The sound can apparently be fixed by installing dsound and directmusic via winetricks, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.
The keyboard controls didn't work for me (apart from Escape), but I think it's because the game detects the plugged in joystick and prioritizes that.
Apparently the game crashes for some users when they get to the boss, but I haven't gotten to one yet (because I suck at the game).
Kubuntu 12.04
It kept early man up too, but that's because the cheese gave them nightmares.
The minute he steps out of the Ecuadorian embassy, he'll be arrested and bundled onto the next plane to Sweden.
I reckon scientists would see some really interesting behaviour if they got a bunch of pigs to steal the eggs before they hatch.
Of course it won't be Linux only.
It'll also be out for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
I thought energy couldn't be created or destroyed, so the energy on this planet is pretty much constant?
Obligitory Dilbert
Ironically, its Facebook page probably has more likes than actual users.
We used to do this at school:
"What would you prefer, to be nearly hit or nearly missed?"
"Nearly missed"
"OK then!"
And then you give them a dead arm :)

Dispatch war rocket JQuery to bring back his body!
(Line from 2012 remake)
From the looks of things the assets are included. There's a 790MB rar file here

It was Bill Gates.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_megadrive
This redirects to Sega Genesis, even though it was only known as this in North America.
However, a vote took place on what to call it and as a result of this vote, it's referred to as the Genesis, which is wrong.
It crap like this that makes me wonder what other facts have been altered.

Daley himself sparked the whole thing off by retweeting the initial message (which wasn't actually offensive)
And there was me thinking that telling someone they let their Dad down when their Dad died less than a year before was out of line.
I guess I'm just too sensitive.
