    Okay as dumb as this sounds, I can't find the jail cam this article talks about, it references 'crime.com' but that doesn't seem to exist either. I did find this Tennessee jailcam however.

    Hardly. I owned an IBM T20 which qualifies as a business notebook computer and it shipped with Linux years ago. Here is the coverage from June 19/2000.

    I think he's safe.... however this may put the P2P networks in violation of the Patriot act and get 'em shut down really quickly where the RIAA couldn't do it.

    Maybe they're just a little behind the times.... this is already happening and has been for years. Even more popular now with the rise of Bit Torrent.... Maybe they should check out supernova

    Lets say each customer record was 100k, which is stretching it if it includes plain text of their name/address/credit history/social insurance or whatever.

    Thats 10 thousand people. Now... 8.2GB works out to about 82000 people. They would have to hire staff to contact customers, to recieve calls, the cost of the phone lines, etc, etc, etc. It gets pretty pricey.

    C&C Renegade was an interesting game that I still enjoy from time to time. EA/Westwood used something on the discs for Renegade as well as Emperor: Battle for Dune that stopped the disc from launching setup in a number of DVD drives. It only seemed to be DVD drives, and at the time all I had was a DVD-ROM.

    While in the case of Emperor Battle for Dune they released a fix, there wasn't one for Renegade. I had to use means that in a world where backup copies are illegal, that may not have been just that, legal. Even thought I paid money for this game and I continue to support the game companies. There are times when you need a backup copy.

    For some reason they always screw up step 2... JSUT DRAG THE DAMN FOLDER AND ITS INSTALLED #%$@$%#@.....

    You're very wrong as far as outsourcing tech support. I work in Canada but our head office is in the US... on the launch of a new product we looked at call centers in the Toronto area and there were 5 good competitors that battled.

    At the risk of being redundant, when I stumbled across Webmin I was amazed at how simple it made some tasks such as playing with mysql DBs without knowing the syntax. I was new to linux at the time and although knowing the syntax for commands is important, this was a good tool to help me learn.
