... I think I can safely request that the studios cast Jeri Ryan of ST: Voyager fame
She just doesn't cut it in Boston Public.
PS: I may submit a script for the next one after this, where they go back in time 5 minutes before the previous event. The sequal to that will involve travelling an ADDITIONAL 5 minutes back, therefore changing the entire sequence of events.
Too bad packeting has not become pointless. I know some of the admins on some servers, regardless of the cause of packeting, it will result in servers being taken down because of bandwidth concerns. These people don't make money hosting an irc server, they may rely on a workplace or other business, but someone will eventually have to eat the cost of the bandwidth.
Why would we force them to make a product for Linux? We know it won't be open source, how will this help the community, a community built on ideals which Microsoft doesn't share.
Rogers@Home in Ontario has already switched over user e-mail addressed from @home.com to @rogers.com, and while my IP remained the same, my host name has changed.
All unauthorized hax0ring aside, how can you trust employees to work in your office, access confidential information, deal with financial issues, and speak to clients, if they refuse to listen to what software can be installed.
If google had a donate option, I would donate. It's nice to have GPL source/software, but I think forcing someone to have that, especially when other options exist is unreasonable.
They created a service...correction, a GREAT service, and they use this service that is provided FREE of charge to end users, to promote a billable service.
I use google at least 10 times a day, and images.google.com is quite useful.
All MWAVE modems (99%) are out of warranty at this point, and people had a chance to file for the price of a new modem at IBM expense after the class action lawsuit. Whats the point in supporting it when they agreed to buy everyone a new modem essentially?
It's not like the mwave settlement wasn't made public.
XP supported my SB Live 5.1 Platinum without issue, and Windows Update even had an update for them. My remote control works fine with the original drivers...whats the issue? The O/S isn't even officially released retail until tommorow.
You have to remember, when you phone them, they are not only trying to solve your problem, but trying to gauge if they SHOULD support you, depending on the issue. Maybe the./ community is an exception, but the majority of users call support for information on using a computer, technical support costs money, and they aren't they to teach people how to use a computer. Thats what school is for.
How do they owe you a new one? What they may owe you is to fix the design flaw by correcting it, instead of just putting back the new hinges that will break. You paid for a laptop, and you've had the better part of two years to use it, I don't think you can reasonably think you deserve a brand new laptop because you may treat the hinges a bit harder then the next person.
I doubt the tech people you talk to even have the ability to replace the laptop.
You ask to speak to a supervisor, if that person can't help, they must have a customer relations or complaint group you can place a formal complaint with. I'm sure the superivisor can point you in that direction.
They have the right to ask you to submit to such searches and the right if you declined not to allow you on the property. It's private property, I don't see you have much choice.
Will they then extend the definition of "digital" to any component that requires or has a power source?
What about those people who make case mods, does the neon light have to meet security standards?
If you open a gameboy advanced to install a backlight kit, will you be found guilty of modifying / bypassing a copyright circumvention method because you MAY have been attempting to access a component.
At this rate, we will have no rights left. It's bad enough WindowsXP desktop themes need to be digitally signed by microsoft, that is considered annoying. Having to digitally secure any digital device? Thats a restriction of freedom.
What about devices created by inventors in the production phase.
We are slowly, piece by piece losing our rights to exist in a free society.
This reminds me of when I watched an Episode of Sliders (damn Kari Wuhrer is h0t), in which possession of technology was illegal. At that time I thought it could never happen. After a quick glance at the article in the post, I realize this may be where our society is heading.
The previous posted was reffering to he ability in WindowsXP called "multiple user switching". It will allow ADMIN A to login, run MS Word and FTP and start downloading a file, and choose to "switch user"
This will bring the machine back to the login screen so USER B can login. ADMIN A's processes continue to run, but, but USER B can't see the processes of ADMIN A.
Only admin users can see/stop processes being run by another user, although yes they could still reboot the machine.
Reminds me of the divorce comic someone sent me, as a gesture of goodwill, the husband gave the wife a brand new SUV for the divorce, then I noticed the firestone tires:)

.... make a Linux version, and give it away. The catch is, CLIPPY THE EVIL PAPER CLIP FROM HELL can't be turned off.
To remove this paperclip, please send $998 to Bill Gates, Microsoft Corp, c/o PayPal

Everyone knows what everyone is thinking at this moment, possible cause for the accident.
They have the public scared, even if this had nothing to do with terrorism, more people will be afraid.
To see the starwars trailer which came with a bonus movie of Monsters Inc.
Sigh..
my girlfriend cried in Monsters Inc.... it wasn't that sad a movie.
That aside, The One seems like a sweet-ass clone of Matrix.
Nothing a great little Linux boot disk won't help.
Information here, RawWrite Image file here.

It seems as though during the 30 seconds it was posted Apple's lawyers have already filed suit with OSDN and specifically /.

I was just going to post that Now can we stop /. 'ing the reg? I haven't been able to read it all day! :-)

Wouldn't they have to get Ford to start making the Probe again? It was discontinued in '97!
This is just another example of how tax payer money does nothing and nasa is still years behind the times.
Hey sexy mom Crusher! I'm afraid, Jean Luc was looking at my bum again!
do you really want them installing Linux?
Imagine if it crashes, the support staff is confused enough already with windows!
I'm the "I know someone whose house caught on fire because of a fauly ac adapter" sqaud actually.
Reminds me of the divorce comic someone sent me, as a gesture of goodwill, the husband gave the wife a brand new SUV for the divorce, then I noticed the firestone tires :)
would the reflection of fire in an LED count as the led being on still?
