Gator is a very annoying product. It will be these ad pushing software that will drive people away from the internet, much like television commercials have pushed people away from TV. People do not want company's pushing products down their throats 24 hrs a day.
The government has allowed another Oligopoloy of sorts with DSL providers. When most smaller DSL providers go into business, they lease the badwidth from the larger telephone companies. There is not enough margin to make profit and the solution is usually " We need an X amount of customers to start to finally make money" The problem is that the X amount of customers is usually years off, and the amound of debt they gain preceeds the time to actually make money. This is a very bad business model. The governemt will need to step in and fix things. Ultimately its the consumers that lose out when competition is not present.
Its simple really. More people own Microsoft Operating systems. Developers want to make money, so they prgram in a code that will be used in the major operating systems. Developers are simply trying to make money. It all starts with the operating system. If you want to see more opengl software, but Linux's ass and tell them to get their marketing in gear and their software in the homes of consumers. Only then will you see developers makes software using Opengl.
Didn't I just hear that Intel was taking their Xeon to Hollywood? What happened to Wintel (Microsoft windows and Intel) ? This is great news. GO Linux!
This is fantastic! Hopefully they will be able to live up to the hype unlike Transmeta. Motorola and Intel spend billions is new plants and manufacturing processes, and then a small Austin company comes into the market and will shock everyone.
It is a sick world when companies layoff people like they are a social security number and not a person. Consumers are the very people we employ. When you layoff your employees, you lose them as a consumer as well. The economy crashes because of these companies. How do you expect people to spend more when you are laying them off. Do the math.
As long as ATI gets their drivers working properly, they should have no trouble stealing market share from Nvidia. ATI traditionally has trouble developing stable drivers for their video cards.
The United States is trying to control the whole world. It's a shame really. We need to stay out of other country's issues and focus on our own. Any country that even thinks about going up against the U.S. must be smoking crack.
I am sure that Sony just does not want mass world-wide distribution of this kit for fear that hackers will get a hold of it and use it against Sony. I ca't see any other viable reason for Sony's actions.

This is awsome news. Please tell me they used Helium and not Hydrogen this time though!! :-)
I am glad that BE won't deisappear without someone showing interest. It would be a shame if they did.

Google will never be beat. They are the example others should follow. Good search results, low advertising and a pleasureable experience.

I think its pretty cool what technology can do in this day and age. Now if we can only get videogames that look like the movie.

Chess is not a sport, there is nothing physical about it! Gimme a break...
