Well the arrogance of the Red Hat folks (take a look at Bob's past comments), would seem they are just blind enough to follow through ona AOL buyout. Go for the money has been the choice over what got them started.
I just bought an old Impact2 to use as the graphics are what I need, not just "another" desktop. If the underlying power of Irix
were there, it would help. Just the sound on the Imapct2 is better than anything on a PC today.
Asus A7V mb's are excellent with Duron's and T-Birds. I have 4 systems running with so far.
Very nice combo, and a good match. I'm sticking
with Asus & AMD.
Now the SCCN (Southern Cross) is up and running,
this is in-accurate. My current employer was the landing station for the Sourthern Cross network.
Our station in Nedona Beach, Oregon.USA. We are building more capacity as this is written also.
See http://www.wcicable.com for our company.
Works fine under SuSE 7.0 for me. Haven't had any issues today under Win2000 or Linux at the office.
As a free browser, I'm very happy they made all the improvements.
Guess I won't be using this if it's only Red Hat. It would be much better to see developers produce needing libraries that forced distros to give them vs. distros forcing users.
So have you tried sending any e-mail to suse.de and let them know of your plight ? Might be good to try that as they have been excellent in all of my requests for help.
I'd be happy to take Accell-X off your hands, as it has run faster, more stable, and supports TTF now out the box. Accelerated-X has the driver that pushes my card and monitor the best. Regards
SUSE has been the stable envirement for Linux since SuSE 5.0 for many of us. And Red Hat, Debian and Caldera have all been less successful. So since this site seems choc full of Debian and Red Hat users primarily, it's no wonder SuSE get's slammed. YaST continues to be the reason many users like SuSE. I personally prefer the hierarchy and scripting. But it's just that it suits me. -Dee
Red Hat Europe ? Oh Well.....

Competition just muddies the market. Red Hat just needs to do this due to the IPO. I wish a better distro Like SuSE had better backing and Red Hat had stuck to the 4.2 version, which was the best version they had, or maybe 3.something. But ever since 5.0, they have gone done hill.
With the question in mind, I use Ishmail as it has a GUI front-end and supports PGP, as well as well as working with IMAP, POP, and local mail servers, I really like the Automatic filing. Check it out at http://www.ishmail.com WDM
Red Hat has made strides and helped in many ways. I have supported Red Hat in the past and continue though not in my use of Linux.
I see Red Hat as the #1 packager of a free OS, and retail arm of the Linux community. This does not make them perfect in the dealing with custmers, packaging, etc. Red Hat has in it's biggest need, marketing to win the Linux community, not just the IPO related community.
Accelerated-X from Xi Graphics is the choice for G200 development. I've been running my G200 since they came out and Xi has been the best manager for this card.
Well look at http://www.kismetwireless.net and tell me how rfmon will let you anyone see them using kismet ?
IMHO .....apt-get under SuSE 8.0 is much more fun.
Cause it works better in some cases than any bsd.
I like obsd persnally but it sucks in some ways
as does fbsd.
I think publishing is very good idea. They kill for money so why advertise for them ?
Yes, SuSE 8.0 is one to get. But each his own.
I dumped RH when they quit working with LUGS honestly.

Just be thankful you are employed this holiday. Many of us in the hi-tech world are needing a job :-(
Bob,
What is your take on Mac OS X ?

So you work for Red Hat eh....:)
Maybe a wee bit overpriced on this option.
Looks a marketing ploy due to the recent market drops.
Right now, all the serious folks are using Mac G4's with plenty of fast HD space, RAM, etc.
Take a look see.
Yeeeee Haaaaa !!!! Yes, I like SuSE.

I guess that is why Linus runs SuSE, cause it's just for newbies.
