It's not free, but it's the perfect in-between image editing software between the "GIMP which is free but has a really weird non-standard way of doing everything" and "Adobe Photoshop which is really expensive or requires monthly fees ".

  4. And no, you didn't say you were the only country. But apparently you're the only country that has a chip on your shoulder about it.

The U.S.A. is officially a non-metric country. Canada and the UK are officially metric countries but have to deal with imperial measurements every day. Example: my grocery flyers are full of imperial-only numbers... but I grew up learning metric. Why the fuck are the numbers advertised in the flyers not all 100% metric? That's the difference between the USA and Canada/UK.

But the last time I saw things from a USA grocery store, pratically everything was in ounces and pounds, not grams and kilograms.

  13. FIY I'm Canadian, one of the few countries on the planet that has to deal with both Imperial and Metric units in every aspect of our lives, every day. Basically everything around us that uses a measurement system of any kind has either both or only one.

What this means is that if Facebook suddenly decided to charge a subscription fee — particularly the $80 per month subscription fee suggested by this analysis ($1,000 annually), Facebook would implode.

So who's going to pay for the remaining 3.33$ per month?

In all seriousness, 1000$ annually is an insane number. Look at how much people complain when Netflix/etc even talks about increasing the monthly fee and you can imagine how fast people would move to another (free) platform. That would be the death of Facebook.

... Okay, good idea! Let's do this!

After four days of troubleshooting components that sustained wear and tear from sitting through two winters on ice, the Drill Team began drilling the main borehole on the evening of December 23rd and reached the lake faster than expected at 10:30pm on December 26th with a borehole depth of 1084 meters.

    https://salsa-antarctica.org/2018/12/28/3578/

Why would scientists want to "round up" numbers? They dug to a depth of 1084 metres and that's all there is to it.

Saying "3500 feet" is the mistake here, because that's 1066.8 metres which is a difference of 17.2 metres vs what really happened.

Also, bonus points if any of those scientist is an Amiga user.
