The difference between humidex at 40 and humidex at 50 is considerable. The higher the humidex, the less you can sweat and the less effective even a simple fan is going to be.
Also, temperatures in the city cannot be compared to temperatures in the open fields. Any wind in the city will have been warmed so there's no fresh breeze to cool you down either, even if humidex was as low as 40. And you also get buildings all around you getting heated up by the sun all day long, so even after the sun sets, buildings are still radiating heat for hours.
Apple going with form over function even with their offices is a sure sign that they also don't give a shit about their products either. Removing usable ports and good keyboards in order to make thinner laptops is completely asinine.
For software, the income comes from the people who pay to get the software. No new features means no sales, since no new features means there's no need to upgrade to a new version.
For Facebook/etc, the income comes from the ads pushed to the users. Too many new features at once and too much difference between versions and your risk loser your precious users.
A bit unfair to compare the Mac mini's i5 with i3 laptops, but otherwise your other points are valid. It's a shame Apple not only sells computers with mechanical HDDs in 2018, but still using 4200RPM/5400RPM? That's like them kicking the people who just bought that computer.
Funny, but I remember the exact same predictions 5 years ago. Also 10 years ago. It's always "ARM is coming, real soon now!!"
Except that 5 or 10 years ago, Apple didn't have ARM CPUs powerful enough to hold their own against Intel's i3/i5/i7 CPUs. And now they're designing their own, custom-made for their needs. And seeing the low-power, low-end CPU they're using in their MacBooks, Apple could swap to ARM tomorrow and the MacBook computing power would actually increase while lowering the cost.
And ARM computers are important because watt-for-watt, ARM will give you a laptop that lasts a lot longer on the same battery, giving the chance for Apple to either make a laptop that still runs 10 hours on a single charge while lowering the cost and weight, or making a laptop with the same battery and weight that will run for 20 to 30 hours.
Remember over a decade ago when people were claiming that Apple replacing PowerPC CPUs for Intel CPUs would never ever happen?
We still have people here on Slashdot and on Mac-related forums claiming that Apple will never ever replace Intel CPUs with their own ARM CPUs.
We now have supercomputers built with ARM CPUs. Given Apple's love of computing-power-to-watts ratios, and their need to control as many parts of their hardware as possible, it's only a matter of time. ARM-powered Macs are coming.
P.S. The only reason I know so much about FAT is I tried to write a boot sector virus in assembler in school. Yeah, it didn't work as expected and I ended up erasing my own boot sector.
1. U.S.A. government demand, backed by crippling export ban 2. China government wants crippling export ban removed 3. China government controls Chinese companies, unlike the U.S.A. where companies control the government

So what you're also saying is that FreeBSD is superior to OpenBSD?

Indeed. I really like my little Cherry G84 keyboard. Wait, what do you mean, Cherry ML switches suck?
Damn. Even within the elite, there's snobs.
He probably runs his t-shirts through the dishwasher, too.
So what you're saying is that Facebook users are vegetables?
And they answer to the Invisible Pink Unicorn.
Robert Davidson will be paid the equivalent value in forever stamps.
Family Guy: Giggity!
Archer: Phrasing!

Next question?

Holy crap I try to make one stupid joke about acronyms and the whole sub-thread derails into a fight between APK and trolls.
Sure there are! Haven't you seen the new amazing cluster of 16 Raspberry Pi Zero?

I think you need to learn the difference between christians and cops.
Nothing can run Crysis.

This reminds me of this story.
Which is ironic, given the high percentage of fat programmers.

CEO, CTO, CFO, GTFO...
iPod shuffle.
Mac mini.
If Samsung can do it, Apple can do it too. They're always neck-to-neck for their smartphone CPUs, just like Intel and AMD.
Joke's on you, GHz is made up of MHz!
