Corporate Backing does not insure a great program. Or success of a program. OS/2 was great, but unsupported. Sun/HP have gone this route before, why did they suddenly choose Gnome? Cheap? -----------------------------
1,2,3,4 Moderation has to Go!
It's so lame, anyway. I swear the next thing you'll see is "Joe Smith, wearing his Addias custom made track shoes, has won the preliminaries in the pole vault, which is sponsored by Royal Dutch Shell, next up, the BP Marathon..."
Makes me sick. This was about sports once, I swear. -----------------------------

Actually, I doubt you'll ever see the 6000, or even the 4000. The next card you might see is that rampage with all the goodies. I'd bet 3dfx knows it is in the hole, badly. It's keeping afloat, but not by much. They need something new, and they are working on it. You won't see a 4000 or 6000 because why waste production space on something that isn't going to sell that well?
that quadchip rampage with T&L sound nice. If it's more than vaporware.
Now, if I could actually *afford* one of these wondercards, and the super computer to run it with... *sigh*
Gives new meaning to the words "too little, too late...
I can see no amount of caffeine is going to save me this late at night. That should be "Too little, Too Late" meaning M$ has some serious catch up to do. Although, with more monkeys to bang on more keyboards, they will come up with something if they get pushed into it.
God, I hope you are kidding. Hitler's father wasn't Jewish. There may be _some_ Jewish blood in his family , but even that can't be tracked down with any degree of certainity.
And no amount of excuses can excuse him for making the conscious decision to make Jews the scape goat for WWI and perscute them to death, literally. He was a very careful man when it came to politics, at least after the beer hall rebellion which landed him in jail.
The reasons behind that can take up books (they do,in fact), so I won't go into it here.
Granted, I don't run a server, so I haven't had to worry about issues like that yet. Pegasus mail works fine enough for me. I'm still setting up my linux side, email is funny via DSL/DHCP and Pine, seemingly.
now, it would be cool if you could just filter all incoming mail and weed out stuff like FREE TONER CARTREGES and the like.
Try looking it up next time, guys... I suppose I could have said "Prozac" or "Ritalin" to be a little more modern. My point being, this one really didnt' have a point.
They look over the Lower Courts ruling, and decide wether or not to hear it. If they see no problem with what the lower court decides, they "Deny Cert" (legal term). I've only read of one case recently where the justices felt compelled to make a comment in denying cert. (Cincy's G&L law that got shot down).
Oh, and because Slashdot's Gods have tanked my Karma 20 points in the past few weeks for no fucking reason at all, and Rob's such an idiot he won't even _listen_ to a polite question about it....

Should have gotten a bill of rights when you had the chance, guys.
I get tired hearing about this ex con. To compare him (like some/.ers are doing) to men who founded this country and moved Civil Rights forward. he's a con. He hasn't done anything to deserve the Sainthood that kids on here are giving him. There are thousands of guys like him.
The problems is, I keep waiting to see what the next generation of stuff has to offer. Then when that comes out, it's too expensive, so I have to wait for prices to come down, at which point they start marketing The Next Big Thing(tm). It's a vicious circle.
This guy is clueless. Typical liberal leanings, willing to tolerate warez, rape/kiddie/snuff/torture porn and God knows what else just so satisfy his need for "free information". Bah.
What will probably happen, and would seem to be the best idea, is if MegaCorp A wants to keep it's brand new copy of OfficeSuite 3000 from showing up everywhere, just coordinate a upload/request barrage of something that looks like the OS3000 but is a worm/virus/trojan whatnot, then blame it on "pirates" or "hackers", pointing out that you can only "trust a copy we put out."
Discredit it quickly, and make it unuseable. That's the key.
There's at least another dozen places to chat on IRC, netwise. I've been on undernet for, geez, 5 years or so now. I doubt seriously losing one corporate sponsored IRC net will harm life.
It's 8am (CST, last day, enjoy it while you can). I'm not awake enough to sort through fake Swedish and Pig Latin. If it's a joke, I'll just ignore it.

Gosh, I feel so insulted. *yawn* Wake me when you get serious. Or don't.
I've never even used AIM period.
Could they sue Gates? No. Why? Gates is rich.
First thing you learn in law school: don't sue poor people.
Corrollary: Poor people can't hire lawyers to fight back...
Don't laugh at duct tape, it's vital to any space mission.

I really should go easy on that return button...
Hitler was beaten regularly by his Jewish father.

I usually just filter them via pegasus mail, granted I might have to unban compuserve someday... ;)
Not too much drink until the thing is actually _working_. Don't want to scare everyone by accidently plugging that spare c64 into the internet...
*shudder*
This one was more lucid than some outings. Amazing!
I mean, My son (2) loves to spill drinks, and I'm usually on the computer, so...

What can you do with a 400mHz Palm Pilot?
If they had to boost it 1.5 miles for every week those russian's were late, they'd have to boost the damn thing what, 300+ miles?
