I guess M$ has yet to hear of the 80/20 rule, where 20% of the features will be used by 80% of the buyers. No wonder they're pushing the subscription model.
So if Chess is a game of tactics and logic, the next wars we fight might be won or lost by machine instead of Generals. Is it me or is there something unetical about that?
Neither, Gore, Clinton, or Reno are running next year. As such voting Democratic is safer than the alternative. Unless you'd like to live in a country were the Constitution doesn't apply to it's residents.
Imagine content delivery system based on p2p instead of http, just try to Slashdot it! The possiblities are amazing! Now, just secure it against worms, tojan horses and altered data...
I remember it being said that if you watched a show and skipped the commercials you were essentially "stealing" it (don't look at me, I try to keep my stupid comments to a minimum), but what happens if you're watching a show JUST for the commercials? Seeing as though neither of my teams made it to the Superbowl. All I'm interested in are the commercials, what then, should the cable networks pay me for my time?
I think it's going to be my personal challenge to find a way to "short out said devices" I'm thinking a microwave oven should do the trick. THe hard part, defeating an ingested tag, hmm... this could be a real problem, tracked until your bowels process the dammed thing out...
I've always wondered how one computes how long it would take to crack a key? For example, how long would it take an top of the line Athlon to crack that 2048 bit key?
Perhaps you might try looking at the fact that suicide attacks is generally a society's LAST means of resitance. Tell me something, when was Israel founded and who was living there when they did? If someone tried the same thing to us here in America, we'd be at war in a heartbeat. Their struggle is no different.
Just that, it's nice to know that they may be out there, but we haven't the technology to make it to our nearest neighboring star (Alpha Centari, a mere 4.3 light-years away). Long story short, better telescopes and math are nice, but we need a lightspeed capable drive.
And it IS quite good, see before the site's saturated and mirror if you can! Now this is the creative power of the Internet, good to see it! And to the people that made the show, good job!
Actually we have this rule called, "Separation of Church and State". Makes for the best of both worlds when applied. As for what happens when you don't follow it, anyone recall the "Dark Ages" when mankind expereinced 300 years of 0 innovation!
Ever notice how much our technological edge gets dulled by the fear and power of the religous right? No cloning, stem cell research, animal organ transplant research, all because, "it goes against God's will." To which I say if God had wanted us to be illiterate, cave dwelling, dying at 30 idiots, then we'd all still have fur, and the skyscrapper would be a foriegn as the airplane. Religion has dulled America's edge and will continue to do so, so long as we fail to stop using it for a crutch.
But Hip Hip Hooray!!! To all the Linux coders that have worked so hard, for all the advocates this is the payoff you've been looking for. You work is well recieved for banks move slowly and deliberatlty, your stuff works just like it should, the GPL works just like it should as well.. the prize is validation!

For if we don't we deserve what we get, and anyone voting to keep the current Bush administration, must be insane.
Before Ashcroft decides he's a terrorist threat to the U.S.

Going after Kazaaa makes about as much sense as suing Panasonic because one of it's phones was used to phone in a bomb threat. Duh.
Oh no that thing doesn't stand out in the slightest! I'm sure it's camoflauge works great... in a Mad Max world.
If they declare it to be property in California, what them figure out a way to asses it, tax it, ...annually. Ouch
Can anyone post this blog, it's either down or Slashdotted
My next question is how fast can a personal computer compute keys and try them?

May be redundant but I'd like to see some BENCHMARKS under Linux between the ATI 9700 - GF4 4600 and the ATI 9500 - GF4 4200. Wouldn't we all?

Wait a sec I run Linux with RASPPPOE, how am I supposed to install the software? :)
Yeah install it where the sun don't shine SBC
I'm remembering how a Sony exec once said they'd "firewall file trading at your PC". And I can't help but wonder if this is somehow part of that ?

Now can Doom III be played on a Linux box, I remember John Carmack saying how only the Geforce series was to be supported?
